Here's something you never hear from a Democrat: of all the cable networks, Fox News is doing the fairest job covering an issue.
Yet, that's exactly what Gov. Ed Rendell (D-Penn.), an outspoken Hillary Clinton supporter, said on "Fox & Friends" Monday.
I kid you not.
Speaking with host Steve Doocy, Rendell said the following (h/t TVNewser via NBer Thomas Stewart):
Well, I said that I think during this entire campaign coverage starting in Iowa and up to the present, Fox has done the fairest job, has remained the most objective of all the cable networks: you hate both of our candidates. No, I'm only kidding. But, you actually have done a very balanced job of reporting the news. And, you know, some of the other stations are just caught up with the, Senator Obama who's a great guy. But Senator Obama can do no wrong, and Senator Clinton can do no right.
Steve Doocy jokingly said, obviously making fun of Chris Matthews, "I just had a tingling in my leg when you were talking about that."
So did I, Steve.
Makes you wonder if Team Clinton thinks they did the right thing boycotting Fox News debates.
Hmmm.

Are there not a number of rather recent studies out of certain more liberal journalism schools which came to the same conclusion? Fox, while it certainly has a conservative leaning to it's editorial side - presents the most balanced news.
PS. Steve Doocy's comment made my day. (;~>

I know I said awhile back the candidates would have to debate on Fox after the primaries...of course who knows now...lol.

Let's just hope FOX never falls victim to the "I just wanna be liked" syndrome, like a few GOPers I could name.
You got that right
April 2, 2008 - 02:57 ET by jmad627Indiana, I was thinking of the same thing. The rest of the MSM is in the tank for BHO. So when Fast Eddie sees how Fox is covering it, he can't help but come to that conclusion.

April 2, 2008 - 16:49 ET by dscottBeing the cynical person I am, I wouldn't be too quick to accept Rendell's compliment. Maybe you might even call me a little paranoid but I contend this is a very Machiavellian move on Clinton's part. Given the MSM's distraction with Obama, the Clintons need to exploit the Projection they have cultivated among Dems that Conservatives and their outlets are the source of all negative and dirty info. What better way to get back into embrace by Dems than having FNC or Conservative outlets do their dirty work for them?
Up to this point the Clintons have tried to shovel as much dirt on Obama as they possibly could via the normal MSM connections with little success. The Rezko affair is potentially a campaign ending event, but the MSM refuses to carry it. Now getting FNC or someone else to revitalize the story in the name of fair and balanced coverage would take a good wack out of Obama while at the same time rehabilitate Clinton by coyly standing aside with the "it wasn't me" look. How will Clinton get FNC to carry their water before the convention? Why, dangling "access" to the Clintons since previous to this they all but boycotted FNC. Will FNC fall for this rope-a-dope strategy like an ignored kid finally getting some attention? This is just another Rope-a-dope con game like the Florida and Michigan primaries all over again, everyone agrees NOT to campaign there and then Clinton shows up at the 11th hour to give attention to all the Dems starving for attention.
My advice to FNC and others, don't do the Clintons work for them. In the off chance Obama gets the nomination, the Rezko affair will be there to take him down. Keep your powder dry and in the meantime dig up as much info as possible so when the time comes, spring the October surprise. It's the Dems turn this time.
