This certainly hasn't been the winter climate alarmists wanted to prove that global warming is destined to destroy the planet if we don't immediately cease and desist emitting that awful carbon dioxide into the air.
After all, not only has the cooling trend continued, but despite warnings that America was going to have so little snow that ski resorts across the fruited plain would all go bankrupt, the winter of 2008 produced record amounts of the white stuff in many parts of the country.
As reported by MLive.com, you can count Ann Arbor, Michigan, amongst the heavily snowed upon (emphasis added):
It's just as you suspected - this has been the snowiest winter ever in the Ann Arbor area, or at least since 1880 when record-keeping started.
And it's not over yet.Didn't this part of the country get the message from Nobel Laureate Al Gore?

Well, depending on how far away Klaatu lives, it's quite likely that by the time he gets here, we'll be in another mini Ice Age.
Of course, the alarmists will blame that on too much CO2 anyway, right? :-) ns

March 23, 2008 - 10:00 ET by rbosqueNot to make the rest of you mad...but, it's going to be 88 today here in L.A. No wonder it's so crowded here. ;0)
Florida too!
March 23, 2008 - 10:10 ET by iveseenitallGreat here in Florida too! Forty years ago a colleague of mine, a scientist, was preaching how, within ten years, Florida would be an ecological disaster. He had "irrefutable proof!". Oh, did I mention--he is a "liberal".
NEVER,NEVER trust a "liberal"
Should that be reversed???
March 23, 2008 - 10:11 ET by misterbill"No wonder it's so crowded."
No wonder it's so warm, there are too many people here??? Only Al Gore can explain it!!!!
Not Mad
March 23, 2008 - 10:21 ET by JoelCTNah, that doesn't make us Texans mad. We just think about your tax-added gas prices! ;) What's it up to now, ten bucks a gallon there?
Close! Actually it's about
March 23, 2008 - 16:47 ET by rbosqueClose! Actually it's about 4.40 at the Chevron around the corner. I live in the L.A. suburbs but up in Malibu, they're paying close to $6. 'Course I guess those folks can afford it.

Hot, cold, floods, drought....yup, global warming.

Let's not get too excited
March 23, 2008 - 12:30 ET by NazarethLet's not get too excited over the cooling (Which btw we've been steadily cooling since 1996- just as we have in all the other Naturally occuring cyclical cooling/warming cycles that the earth goes through all on it's own). Man-Caused global warming nutcases are claiming that the reason we got cooler was because Carbon 'messed up' the atmospheric patterns. No matter what happens in the weather, evil man is going to get blamed for it- Warm cold- doesn't matter- according to hte man-caused global warming nut-balls, we're to blame (P.S- the cooling that we've seens for a decade now 'mysteriously' coincides with Solar flare reductions- just as it always has for 1000's of years)

And to let folks know-
March 23, 2008 - 12:36 ET by NazarethAnd to let folks know- scientists have been studying the oceanic temps at very deep levels, and the seas have been cooling, not warming as the global warming nuts predicted. Bet here again, they GW headcases are doing an about face and now claiming this is 'normal' reaction in the seas to carbon caused atmosphere changes.
Oh, and a weatherman (or maybe it is the owner of the weather channel- can't remember now) is suing Al Gore for peddling false information causing finacial loss to millions- hopefully he'll win his suit.
Motherbelt
March 23, 2008 - 16:12 ET by doug1950Yep. The GW crowd began changing the verbage of their rant slowly when all their evidence began to get buried in snow; so that anything that happens now weatherwise can be directly attributed to GW. If it started raining Snickers outside right now they would insist that it is due to "climate change". That is their new term for GW. Clever huh? "Climate change" is go damned generic it covers everything and anything and no one can disagree.

"Low snowpack"
March 23, 2008 - 13:51 ET by scamoramaHere in Oregon, where the Coast and Cascade ranges were over 100% of normal in December, the governor is pushing an emergency spending plan to protect groundwater tables which are "threatened by low snowpack levels".

Someday they'll do a
March 23, 2008 - 14:08 ET by marvlSomeday they'll do a documentary on all this and expose the real truth...
They'll show Evil Al in his secret jungle laboratory beaming his evil weather ray at the moon, which is then reflected back to earth. The evil weather ray causes global warming, and Evil Al makes a fortune selling carbon credits.
But watch out. Evil Al could just as easily use his evil weather ray to cause global cooling. If you notice him starting to sell goose down credits you'll know fer sure that we're in for a severe ice age.
And then, of course, he's using his evil weather ray to cause Obama to make impassioned speeches. All those weeping liberals are starting to cause global flooding. We'll know fer sure when Evil Al starts selling lifejacket credits.

The evidence of Global Cooling keeps coming in...
March 24, 2008 - 09:12 ET by PopularTech2007, Coolest Winter Since 2001 For U.S., Globe, According To NOAA Data (Science Daily)
"The average temperature across both the contiguous U.S. and the globe during climatological winter (December 2007-February 2008) was the coolest since 2001, according to scientists at NOAA’s National Climatic Data Center in Asheville, N.C. In terms of winter precipitation, Pacific storms, bringing heavy precipitation to large parts of the West, produced high snowpack that will provide welcome runoff this spring. [...]
During January alone, 170 inches of snow fell at the Alta ski area near Salt Lake City, Utah, more than twice the normal amount for the month, eclipsing the previous record of 168 inches that fell in 1967. At the end of February, seasonal precipitation for the 2008 Water Year, which began on October 1, 2007, was well above average over much of the West.
Mountain snowpack exceeded 150 percent of average in large parts of Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, and Oregon at the end of February. Spring run-off from the above average snowpack in the West is expected to be beneficial in drought plagued areas.
Record February precipitation in the Northeast helped make the winter the fifth wettest on record for the region. New York had its wettest winter, while Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Vermont, and Colorado to the West, had their second wettest.
Snowfall was above normal in northern New England, where some locations posted all-time record winter snow totals. Concord, N.H., received 100.1 inches, which was 22.1 inches above the previous record set during the winter of 1886-87. Burlington, Vt., received 103.2 inches, which was 6.3 inches above the previous record set during the winter of 1970-71."
