Chris Wallace: Democrats Are Damn Fools for Boycotting Fox News

Here's something you don't see every day: a well-respected member of the news media calling Democrats damn fools.

Yet, according to Politico's Michael Calderone, this is exactly what "Fox News Sunday" host Chris Wallace called the Party of Reid and Pelosi for refusing to come on FNC.

In fact, Wallace was not at all shy about his feelings concerning this pathetic boycott of Fox News by one of the nation's major political parties (emphasis added, h/t NRO Media Blog):

"I think the Democrats are damn fools [for] not coming on Fox News," Wallace said. "And my guess is that once you get a nominee, they probably will come on, because they know that we get a lot of voters they are going to need if they are going to win the election."

So far, Wallace has interviewed Sens. Hillary Rodham Clinton, Joe Biden and Chris Dodd and New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson; both Sen. Barack Obama and former North Carolina Sen. Edwards have declined.

The Edwards campaign confirmed that the candidate declined but did not elaborate further. The Obama campaign did not respond to requests seeking comment.

Aside from his hourlong Sunday show, the Democratic candidates will not participate in any Fox News-sponsored debates, leaving Wallace to moderate three Republican contests over the course of 2007.

"Just imagine if the Republicans, under pressure from right-to-life groups, refused to appear on CNN or MSNBC," Wallace said.

"I think there would be holy unshirted hell. I think there would be such talk about these people being captives of the extreme right wing and why are they afraid to answer questions. And I think the absence of that is very telling.

"At this point, it has become kind of a loyalty test inside the Democratic Party, ... pandering to the far-left-wing," Wallace added. "And we live with it."

Yes we do.

What's this "for boycotting

What's this "for boycotting FOX news" business?  His sentence would have made just as much sense if he had placed a period after the word "fools."

You tell 'em Chris

It's okay for them to set our guys up on CNN, but they don't even have the guts to show their faces on Fox News. If that's not trying to control the press, then I don't know what is.

Can you imagine if Hillary won the White House...she'd try to have Fox News off the air.

candance, be assured Hillary WILL attempt

to reinstate the mis-named "Fairness In Broadcasting Act."

Just one of the little gifts that will be given to America by those conservatives who follow through on their threat to not vote for certain Republican nominees.

RJ

DAMN!  You beat me to it!  The good ol' Fairness Doctrine; hrmph, there isn't a darn thing FAIR about it!

Wait for Mr. Bill to come

Wait for Mr. Bill to come out calling it "another right-wing hit job."

"Unshirted hell"???? I like that!

Why does

Why does anyone still sane respect or support the Democrats? It makes no sense to support the party that always lies!

LBZ, even the Democrats

LBZ, even the Democrats don't support the Democrats.  I'm surprised PJ Gladnik hasn't posted on this story here.  He's been having a field day with it over at his dummiefunnies.  The DUmmies have been frothing at the mouth the last couple of days about Pelosi's having been briefed on waterboarding and not having done anything about it.  They are calling for her to be impeached right alongside Bush, then the both of them being turned over to the International Court at The Hague.  It is quite hilarious.  Another few revelations like that, and the only ones going to the polls next year will be Republicans...well, maybe not, but the most rabidly communist of the left will stay home.

I like this Wallace guy. He

I like this Wallace guy. He is obviously stepping into a niche that is about as empty as the vacuum of space.. a center-right journalist in the MSM.

And I'm seeing more and more that liberals are crucifying this guy because he has the "nerve" to actually ask them hard questions and not lob up softballs to them.

Their goal is to silence him, but I only see it driving him further to the right. And if he maintains his excellent composure and dignity, he will be an effective enemy against the status quo.

Killgrave, this may surpise

Killgrave, this may surpise you, but Chris is a registered Democrat, at least he was. Now, his stance in politics on TV is another  matter. The guy is as fair as they come. You would not know if he was dem or rep when it comes to his interviews. He does a great job.

Save a SeAL, club a liberal!!

Yup

He does a great job.He ask tough questions of everyone. The party doesnt matter. To bad the msm doesnt learn from him.

Democrat, maybe in name only

I have to say that he may be a democrat in name only. I heard about an interview he gave where he said that he's registered as a democrat because as a Washingtonian it's the only way you can be heard. Only 10% of DC is republican. So the real elections are during the primaries; especially recently. I, myself, am a republican out of principle but it is hard being a republican here in DC.

You probably know this

Hey, Killgrave this is the guy Bill Clinton just about lunged at in an
interview recently! Got all up in his grillwork with his big ol'
clinton finger and told Wallace he didn't like the smirk on his face! Love it, love it, love it. Democraps are dorks, and Wallace really P-Ued thier king.

-

That was great.  And Wallace wasn't even looking for trouble.

Haha!!!

The democrats are about to enter a boxing match without any real training or preperation! What a bunch of maroons!! Another lib "tactic" backfires! Too Funny!!

Adding to my little rant here:

The Dems are dumb in another respect. The CNN/MSNBC audiances got to see what the Republicans are all about. In my estimation they did great.

Also these people probably DON'T watch FOX! Which means the people that watch FOX didn't see the Dems!

Sooo the Dems have in effect eliminated the possibility of any FOX converts! Just plain stupid stupid stupid!!

"There are two types of people in this country; those who provide freedom and those who enjoy it." MM says...

I hope the Democratic

I hope the Democratic nominee for President refuses to come on FOX because that will guarantee the GOP the presidency.  As Jay Leno said, if democrats are afraid of FOX, how will they fight terrorism?

Its just

It's just this simple: Fox is the only TV news that is not in the democrats pocket and they hate them for it.

If the American people cannot see through all this then they deserve exactly what they will get in the next election.

Free press, my backside. The old Soviet Union had a less-biased news media.

SPOT ON...

 cvgbuckeye,

Your post is on target, El-Rushbo has talked about this sort of thing. FoxNewsChannel, Talk Radio, Drudge Report, & some blogs, that's it, that's all that seperates us from a total liberal media blanket.

Don't kid yourself, if the Dems get total control of The White House, the House, & Senate, watch the "Fairness Doctrine" rear it's ugly head. I find it hard to believe they could get away with it in today's media culture.

"Some of us are wise, some of us are otherwise"  Mark Levin

Exactly...

I hope the democrat sissy boys continue to avoid Fox News. We can keep pounding away at what a bunch of chickens and whoosies they are because they are terrified of Chris Wallace. The dictators of the world have these pantywaists D's shivering under the bed pleading for mercy. The Islamic terrorists must be drooling at the prospect of a democrat president.

Once voters get that picture in their head, yes, it does open the path to a GOP presidency.

Hooray for WAllace! Next

Hooray for WAllace! Next time for an even better effect he should have Mr. T call them fools. I pity the fools!

They don't (or won't) go on

They don't (or won't) go on Fox because they might get asked substantive questions.  All of the leftists know that if they are asked issues related questions they're sunk.  A prime example is Hillary's being asked if she supported driver's licenses for illegal aliens.  H*ll's bells, it was a yes or no question, and she wouldn't answer it.  Could you imagine if they were asked how they proposed paying for universal health care, and how much it was going to cost?  Or, what they proposed to do about illegal immigration?  Or, should English be the official language of the United States?  Or questions about raising taxes or extending the Bush tax cuts.  If they ever do agree to go on Fox, I would hope Fox has an Economist to ask questions about economic issues, an Insurance representative or Actuary or Doctor ask questions about health insurance and health care, and Steve McIntyre asking questions about what they plan to do about the global warming hoax, etc.  If they actually had to give substantive answers to substantive questions, they'd be sunk and they know it.  THAT'S why they won't go on Fox, at least if they can't control the questions.

"A communist is someone who reads Marx.  An anti-communist is someone who understands Marx."  Ronald Reagan

 Dem's wont' go on Fox

Dem's wont' go on Fox because then they would be asked question's that 'we the people' would ask them instead of question's that were written for them before the Hollywood writer's strike.

Fox?

Fox, hell Hillary got asked one tough question from Russert and all hell broke loose.  Just imagine getting about 10 of those questions for each candidate?  I believe this will come back to haunt them, next year.  Perhaps Fox should return the favor and not invite the candidate on the shows and see if they complain about Fox being biased and not letting them on.  Then, Fox can make a big deal about inviting them on for a special, that everyone is sure to watch, and play 20 tough questions with them.

Democrats: Specializing in "high tech lynching" since 1987.

Wallace is what many Dems used to be...

...before the rise of the 60's generation into senior positions in the media, government and educational system.

Now the party of Truman and Kennedy is polluted with a thousand oozing streams of Leftist political correctness, of race, gender, class and cultural separatism, and of historical (reality)revisionism.

Well said Parker

That pretty well sums it up.
