Helen Thomas can no longer claim to be a journalist.  She's merely a bitter, old curmudgeon who ought to be ignored -- if not booted from the WH Press Room.

Helen Thomas uses her age and her longevity in the news business as a weapon. She knows that most folks are going to let her have her say, out of respect for her age mostly, and she uses that "privilege" to behave, let's say "inappropriately" most of the time.

I'm sure she thinks she is "speaking truth to power." In reality she is just saying the most outrageous thing she can think of on that day.

All I can say is "Way to go, Dana!" And I'm really glad she slipped in that line about Helen's front row seat being "bestowed" upon her by her colleagues.

And let's not forget. NATO here, is Bill Clinton. The Kosovo action by NATO was Bill Clinton's baby. And, he had little in the way of UN support for his military campaign - in fact failed to get the resolution he lobbied for.

The question on the table here, for Helen Thomas, is: "What did you have to say then, Helen, about your favorite president, next to JFK, that is?"

Belgrade sentences Nato leaders - BBC, Thursday, 21 September, 2000

A court in Belgrade has sentenced 14 Nato leaders to 20 years in prison each for war crimes allegedly committed during last year's bombing campaign against Yugoslavia.

The presiding judge said an arrest warrant had been issued for the convicted leaders, who include US President Bill Clinton, UK Prime Minister Tony Blair and French President Jacques Chirac.
