After hearing Rosie O'Donnell's most recent despicable rant about the President, MSNBC should consider reopening discussions with the outspoken comedienne to get her on the cable network following Keith Olbermann's "Countdown."
In fact, it seems a slam dunk!
Consider comments O'Donnell made Monday at the 10th annual fundraiser for her charitable For All Kids Foundation.
As reported by Fox News.com, while "riffing and having fun from the dais during an auction of pricey gifts such as spending a day on the set of ‘Nip/Tuck' or taking a 14-day cruise in the Mediterranean on a luxury line," Rosie blurted out the following for her audience (emphasis added): "George Bush is a war criminal."
Isn't that a special thing for the host of a charity fundraiser to say to her guests and benefactors?
Maybe even more disgusting, there were children at the gala. As O'Donnell posted at her website Tuesday (emphasis added):
paul simon sang last night
as public school kids
danced around him
in celebration of everything[...]
a video is on the way
paul the kids me
last night
where magic was made in the marriot
Yes, how magical: the head of a kids' charity telling an audience, conceivably with children in attendance, that their president is a war criminal.
I wish my kids had been there to see such magic!

This is what Fein was talking about: "should Bush remain defiant in defending his constitutionally-abusive wire-tapping of Americans"
No one has yet demonstrated that any "spying" in the absence of a warrant actually took place on American soil. The only objections I have seen have been in regards to how the warrants were issued. All such eavesdropping was directed at foreign telecommunications terminals, implying the targets of such surveillance were on foreign soil. The Constitution invests the power to conduct foreign relations, including espionage, with the President only.

How mainstream journalists suspended skepticism and scrutiny remains an issue of significance that the media has not satisfactorily explored," says Moyers. "How the administration marketed the war to the American people has been well covered, but critical questions remain: How and why did the press buy it, and what does it say about the role of journalists in helping the public sort out fact from propaganda?"

You professor, Rosie, and others like you have made made a mockery of the truth with your baseless accusations, name calling, and unsubstantiated commentary which usually involves repeating the Democrat's talking points. The difference between George Bush and those that disdain him is pretty simple: he's a leader with convictions and has confidence in himself to look you straight in the eye and thank you for your perspective, and proceed with his policies. He's not perfect, no leader is. This nation was filled with doomsayers about Saddam before Bush took office, who conveniently have forgotten all their rhetoric. And when he demanded Saddam to toe the line all he got were empty commitments from him and the UN. The Congressional Record is filled with commentary, by Democrats, warning our people of the dangers of Saddam and demanding we take action. The only person responsible for Iraq is Sadam. The world is better off without him and his sons; the Iraqi people have a chance to make a life for themselves; and in the end, George Bush will be seen as having had the convictions to take on this war. So Professor, do continue your whining, continue to encourage your leaders Pelosi and Reid to be clueless of where we are and what we're doing to protect this country because in the end, George Bush will have kick their collective political butts to hell and back, and not even blink in the process. By the way, how's the surge working?

November 23, 2007 - 01:45 ET by shawn228Unsane,
Good to see you, and Happy Thanksgiving. Hey American's got Canada beat when it comes to Bird Day, If you have the Friday off, 4 straight days of eating, drinking beer and watching sports, it does not get any better than that.
Now if you want to talk about medic........... ummm joking, just joking, lets not get on that subject again:-)
Canada and the U.S. on Thanksgiving
November 23, 2007 - 01:53 ET by UnsaneFunny you mention med...NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Funny you mention the Canadian approach to Bird Day. I was musing to myself the other day about how the U.S. approach is the best one, as we have Thanksgiving on a Thursday, giving us all an excuse to have a three-day work week. Whereas the Canadians - suckers - have...NOTHING! Just another Sunday in October!!!
I bet they don't even have a cool slate of CFL games to enjoy... :-)
As for drinking beer...well, I do some of that, but I prefer the family tradition of Spaetlese. I do hail from Germans on one side of the family, after all...

Days off
November 23, 2007 - 02:08 ET by shawn228Thanksgiving is great for a 4 day party, The US also has Christmas, New Years, Labor Day, Memorial Day and the 4th of July. I don't know about you, but I do not get MLK day, Presidents Day, Veterens "Day off or Good Friday off.
Most places in Canada are closed for Christmas, New Years, Thanksgiving day, Easter Friday, Easter Monday, Canada Day, Rememberece Day,Labour Day, Boxing Day, Victoria Day. So if talk about pound for pound days off, They come out ahead. Damn Socialist:-)
PS, for a person that has never lived in Canada, your knowledge about them is amazing,
More rattling on Canada
November 23, 2007 - 03:44 ET by UnsaneOn one Victoria Day in particular I found myself in Toronto, and it was mostly shut down. It was much non-conducive to my playing tourist.
The thing about the Socialist world is that when they have a holiday, they friggin mean it. You think Canada is bad? It has NOTHING on Germany. For another thing, at least businesses in Canada can set their own hours by and large (though if I recall correctly ON and PQ have rather restrictive laws - playing tourist on Sunday in Toronto was ALSO quite rough) - hang out in Germany at 1755 on a weekday, and check out what happens in a major shopping district. ALL the businesses close at the same time.
I would note that the United States is perhaps the only nation in the English-speaking world that doesn't recognize Boxing Day. So, right there, in the holiday competition, you give the U.S. -1 for showing up.
P.S. On a visit to Ottawa, I was in an elevator heading to my hotel room on the night of my arrival there. I was chatting with a Canadian out-of-towner. I mentioned where I was from and he asked what I was doing in Ottawa. He freaked when I told him the truth: "I just wanted to see Canada and I thought Ottawa would be a good place to start."
P.P.S. ONLY when I was in the military active duty did I get all the federal holidays off.

You've only debunked the question of your ignorance
November 22, 2007 - 14:20 ET by professor truthYou are a complete ignoramus if you deny Bush is a war criminal. Was Hitler a war criminal for invading Poland or was he legally justified because he claimed it was a defensive act. You guys don't seem to answer myquestions, because the only answer is that I'm right.

November 22, 2007 - 14:28 ET by botgIraq was a continuation of the earlier hostilities, for which Sadaam had numerous UN resolutions. The moratorium which ended fighting was broken by Sadaam. So proffesor ostrich you can check the links listed or you can show yourself for the ignorant talking point spouting socialist plant you truly are.

Was Poland in violation of
November 22, 2007 - 14:32 ET by JerryWas Poland in violation of the terms of surrender that they agreed upon, as Iraq was from Gulf War I? Was Poland in direct violation of 17 UN resolutions? Did all the world's intelligence agencies claim that Poland was developing weapons of mass destruction? Was Poland using WMD on it's own people? Did Germany's largest city get attacked by terrorists? Was Poland guilty of harboring and enabling terrorist?
Give it a rest PT. We were completely justified after the first issue alone - direct violation of the terms of surrender from Gulf War I.
When asked if he went to war with Iraq to derail the impeachment vote: “I don’t think any serious person would believe that any President would do such a thing." - President Clinton (Dec 1998).

November 22, 2007 - 15:05 ET by professor truthNO UN resolution called for war. Not one! I defy you to show me one resolution that SPECIFICALLY authorized war. There isn't one resolution stated that war is authorized. UN res 1441 referred to serious consequences, which was used to justify war. Also, the NO fly zones were also not UN authorized. If Iraqi planes were doing daily flights and bombings over the US, would WE see this as an act of war. Another point. Israel has been in violation of UN resolutions for over 20 years. Does this allow for aggressive attacks on it? Iraq used WMD's on their people..Correct. Was this a war crime?? If so, the US was an accomplice to this, having supported Hussein when he was his most murderous. Rumsfeld is seen smiling and shaking Saddam's hand in 83. I'd say these guys are all war criminals.
I understand that the UN
November 22, 2007 - 20:53 ET by JerryI understand that the UN resolutions did not authorize war. Why do you think I called them worthless. Why issue a resolution if there are no consequences tied to the resolution? I did say that Pre
