As if the failure of Al Gore's Live Earth concerts in July wasn't enough, a musical fiesta is being prepared to honor the new Nobel Laureate after he receives his Peace prize in December.
I don't know about you, but I can't wait!
As hysterically announced by Star Pulse Wednesday (h/t Ecorazzi, emphasis added):
Uma Thurman will join Tommy Lee Jones as co-host of the Nobel Peace Concert honoring former Vice President Al Gore and the U.N.'s climate change panel, organizers announced Wednesday. The Dec. 11 concert, held the day after the Nobel Peace Prize is presented in Oslo, draws top music and film stars, and is broadcast to more than 100 countries, a news release said.
Organizers earlier announced that Jones, who was Gore's roommate at Harvard University, would be one of the concert's hosts. The lineup of performers includes Alicia Keys, Annie Lennox and Melissa Etheridge, who won an Academy Award this year for the song ''I Need to Wake Up,'' which was featured in Gore's environmental documentary ''An Inconvenient Truth.''
Does anyone recall prior Nobel Peace Prize recipients having concerts honoring their work?
I must have missed Mother Teresa and Yasser Arafat boogieing on stage with the Bee Gees!

Are they going to resume their arguments about underwear on the floor, whose turn was it to buy the beer, and the nixed proposal that one "get lost" during the weekend the other's out-of-town girlfriend visited?
Then the row climaxes with Gore bellowing about being an ex-vice president, presidential candidate, oscar winner, and now nobel laureat, and Jones loudly retorting "I DON'T CARE!!!"

November 14, 2007 - 21:24 ET by rx4musicA very young looking Steve Vai and Chad Wackerman! I saw both of them recently. Vai was playing at one the Indian casinos and Chad was backing up Alan Holdsworth. About a week before Vai, Dweezil came through at the House of Blues doing the Zappa play Zappa tour. I have a friend, Mike Kineally, who used to tour with Frank, Dweezil AND Vai (on the G3 tour among others). I met Frank a couple of times before he died. His section is one of the biggest in my music collection...(about 35 or 40 selections). Here's a link to my favorite Frank song...

If I wake up tomorrow (and that is assuming I ever wake up again) and your article is still here, that will mean that Sir Albert the Gore is actually going to make another attempt at this hideous insanity.
