HuffPo Hack Sam Stein Whines That Belgian Terror Attacks Have 'Overshadowed' Obama's Cuba Visit

March 22nd, 2016 5:04 PM

One exquisitely annoying aspect of the press's fawning coverage of President Obama and his administration during the past seven-plus years has been its obsession, first and foremost, over how breaking domestic and world events have intervened or might interevene to harm or potentially harm Dear Leader's precious agenda and legacy.

From before Day 1, i.e., going back to the 2008-2009 presidential transition, the press has been conditioning readers to believe that no previous president has ever has so many serious distractions. Thus, it's no surprise, but after all this time it remains intensely annoying, that after this morning's terrorist bombings in Brussels, Belgium, Huffington Post hack (and I do mean "hack") Sam Stein was primarily worried about how Obama's Cuban trip had been "overshadowed":

Well-deserved ridicule and sarcasm have followed. Here are some examples (HT Twitchy):

  • "It's not fair that his inept handling of terrorism is drawing focus away from his coddling of brutal tyrants."
  • "Wow, when you put it like that, it really puts it in perspective. Obama is the real victim here."
  • "Poor guy can't even go to a baseball game with a bunch of commies without people expecting him to do his job."
  • "My thoughts and prayers go out to the people of Obama’s political strategy team."
  • "Almost like terrorism isn't even contained."
  • "It's enough to make a hack journalist weep over his hero's misfortunes."

Later today, Stein tried to top himself. Commenting on today's baseball involving the Tampa Bay Rays and the Cuban national team, he tweeted (cleaned up, only slightly), "honestly though, if we kick the sh*t out of Cuba in this game, would that have negative diplomatic ramifications?"

I'm better off not reacting to that. Its clueless vapidity speaks for itself.
