Talk about fake news. CNN journalist Poppy Harlow on Thursday didn’t seem to recognize the Star Spangled Banner. Instead, she confused the United States National Anthem for that of France. While covering Donald Trump’s visit to France for Bastille Day, Harlow paused the discussion to watch as the U.S. national anthem played: “Let’s just listen in to the French National Anthem for just a moment.”
A painful silence followed as the Star Spangled Banner played. Harlow followed up, “The American national anthem, I should say. Let's listen in.”
Harlow could have simply been not paying attention. But a clue should have been the President putting his hand on his heart.
Hat tip to the Daily Caller for first noticing.
