ABC to Ted Cruz: Here’s Some People Saying Awful Things About You

April 18th, 2016 11:54 AM

When Good Morning America’s George Stephanopoulos scored an exclusive interview with Hillary Clinton, he completely ignored her e-mail scandal. In contrast, when Stephanopoulos and co-host Robin Roberts talked to Ted Cruz on Monday, Roberts played a montage of opponents saying bad things about the Republican.

Before grilling the Senator and his wife, Roberts cheerily began, “Being his partner, you have been on the campaign trail and you have heard the negativity throughout on both sides.” The host teed up: “We have something that we want to show you, the things that people who are running against you have said over this process.”

Sensing a set-up, Cruz sarcastically replied, “This will be delightful.” A montage played with Marco Rubio attacking, “Ted Cruz has just been telling lies.” John Kasich derided “Senator Ted, the smear artist.”

Trump mocked, “He’s a nasty guy. Nobody likes him. Nobody likes him anywhere once they get to know him.” Trying to make the whole clip package somehow related, Roberts said to Heidi Cruz: “It's been such a harsh campaign. Harsh campaign again on both sides of the aisle. How has that impacted your family?”

When Stephanopoulos interviewed Clinton on April 4, he did not point out the conflict of interest. In 2015, it was revealed that the journalist secretly donated $75,000 to the Clinton Foundation. Stephanopoulos also skipped Clinton’s ongoing e-mail scandal.

Stephanopoulos’s interview with Clinton was so light, the liberal of the women of The View managed tougher questions when they talked to the Democrat.
