During the GOP debates, Hillary was hitting it up with Hollywood celebs.
At a fundraising event in talent manager Scooter Braun’s Los Angeles home, Clinton got together with Kim Kardashian, Kanye West, Kris Jenner, Tom Hanks, Jessica Alba and other stars. The 225 supporters in attendance were required to contribute at least $2,700 to the Hillary for America fund.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, this was the “third time Clinton had tapped Hollywood for funds since declaring her 2016 presidential candidacy.”
In a 30-minute speech, Hillary stressed her support for Planned Parenthood and Obama’s eco-initiatives—topics which were received well by the liberal audience.
After the event, Kim Kardashian characteristically posted a selfie with the presidential candidate. The photo of the reality star, her husband Kanye West and Clinton was featured on many media outlets the next morning. The caption read: “I got my selfie!!! I really loved hearing her speak & hearing her goals for our country! #HillaryForPresident”
Ruminating on the, um, important photo, Salon writer Anna Silman wondered: “Is it too early to christen this duo Killary?”
Wondering how Clinton herself felt about the pic, CNN correspondent Chris Cuomo asked fellow host Brooke Baldwin: “If you had to caption it, is it: ‘I find these two [Kim and Kanye] more serious than the GOP contenders’?”
Hillary certainly did not waste time viewing the debates. "I'm not watching, and I don't need to be. Donald Trump, Jeb Bush, Scott Walker, Marco Rubio – they all have the same agenda. They are out of step with the kind of country Americans want for themselves and their children," she said.
You know, Hillary, so are many in Hollywood.
