Manifest Obama Video: Cultish New Agers Envision an Obama Presidency

October 21st, 2008 7:34 PM

(Update: This video has been removed from YouTube. I guess they figured the cultish New Age tone of the video would be harmful to Obama.)

Here is yet another Barack Obama video with cultish overtones. It was filmed in the Asheville, NC area which makes sense since that city has become sort of a hippie center in the Southeast region. Participants in this video are encouraged to envision a President Obama. Here are the New Age slogans flashing on the screen with people looking like they are the midst of a rapture lovingly repeating, "President Barack Obama," as New Age type music is played:

Between now and November 4...

Let's spend one minute a day...

Envisioning Barack Obama...

As our President...

Prepare your heart to fill with hope...

Prepare your mind to embrace the change...

Envision Barack victorious on election night...

...Taking the oath of office...

On Inauguration Day...

Believe that this great moment in American history is already a reality...

Say the words to yourself...

To your family...

To your friends and neighbors...

Say it to the world...

Your vision is a sacred trust...

You are a sanctuary of a sacred vision for a renewed America...

 Envision it...

Say it...

Feel it...

Believe it...

Make it our reality...

Manifest Obama, America!

Sheesh! If things don't turn out as these folks want on election day, most of them will either have to be placed into Anger Management therapy and/or be deprogrammed from the cult-like adulation of their "sacred vision." Not everybody is swallowing the New Age Obama idolatry Kool-Aid. Adrienne's Catholic Corner has this observation about the video:

I have a special interest in the New Age influences on our world and in our churches. I do an hour and a half presentation tracing the history of this very disturbing trend, and this video is about as New Age goofy as you can get. Goofy but dangerous. Note all the "code" words i.e. Envision, Manifest, and statements like "make it a reality".

The background music is a song entitled "Sanctuary" by Randy Scruggs. It could, to be polite, be best termed a nursery rhyme with hypnotic and repetitious overtones. Unfortunately, our 10:30 Mass was introduced to this piece of nonsense when our new music director showed up. Now everyone sings this while they go to communion. Needless to say I never, ever go to the 10:30 Mass.

The people behind this video and the website promoting it, "Manifest Obama", dispense their New Age influences through their other website called Wisdomology.

Somehow I don't think the dreamy-eyed folks in this video would disagree with Louis Farrakhan's notion that Obama is the "new Messiah."
