Liberal Professor Tells White Male Students To Commit Suicide To Benefit Society

UPDATE at end of post.

Noel Ignatiev, a professor at Massachusetts College of Art, has for years advocated the total elimination of Caucasians.

During his final lecture before retirement last Monday, he told his white male students "you don’t deserve to live. You are a cancer, you’re a disease."

NOEL IGNATIEV: If you are a white male, you don’t deserve to live. You are a cancer, you’re a disease, white males have never contributed anything positive to the world! They only murder, exploit and oppress non-whites! At least a white woman can have sex with a black man and make a brown baby but what can a white male do? He’s good for nothing. Slavery, genocides against aboriginal peoples and massive land confiscation, the inquisition, the holocaust, white males are all to blame! You maintain your white male privilege only by oppressing, discriminating against and enslaving others!

That transcript was published at a website called Diversity Chronicle which agrees with Ignatiev:

The good Professor’s sound and reasonable words resonate with every enlightened and progressive mind. They are indisputable and no one can debate them. They should not be controversial in the slightest, yet remarkably a few far-right extremists object to the Prof. Ignatiev’s advice. The Professor however, reported receiving “a standing ovation” from his “largely white and middle class students.”

Ignatiev punctuated his disgusting comments during an interview with DC:

IGNATIEV: The goal of destroying the white race is simply so desirable, it boggles the mind trying to understand how anyone could possibly object to it. Those who object to my advice, knowingly or perhaps unknowingly, are themselves white supremacists. They wish to go on oppressing and exploiting other races and maintaining their own privileged positions of power. That is the conscious and sometimes subconscious motivation of all of my critics. That is why they object to destroying the cancer of humanity known as the white race. That ugly disease, which dares to call itself a people and a culture. [...]

Obviously, all whites need to be destroyed, but why not start with white males? They are behind most of history’s greatest atrocities. Besides, some of the brothers like to bang white women. Eventually white women can breed out, but my feeling is that if you are a white male, you should kill yourself now. If you are a thoughtful person, with a social consciousness who considers himself white, you will consider suicide. It’s the right thing to do.

This is not the first time Ignatiev called for the elimination of Caucasians. The Washington Times reported in September 2002 he did so while teaching at Harvard:

Noel Ignatiev, a founder of a journal called Race Traitor and a fellow at Harvard's W.E.B. DuBois Institute, a leading black-studies department, argues in the current issue of Harvard Magazine that "abolishing the white race" is "so desirable that some may find it hard to believe" that anyone other than "committed white supremacists" would oppose it.

In excerpts appearing this week in newspapers nationwide, Mr. Ignatiev, who is white, writes that "every group within white America," including "labor unionists, ethnic groups, college students, schoolteachers, taxpayers and white women" has at one time or another "advanced its particular and narrowly defined interests at the expense of black people as a race."

Ignatiev wrote about his political beliefs in a memoir from 1979:

When the Communist Party, USA, entered its period of crisis following the Khrushchev report to the 20th Congress of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union (CPSU) on the crimes of Stalin, there arose within the Party in the U.S. at least four different factions. The first of these was the right wing, led by Daily Worker editor John Gates, Fred Fine, and others. The second was the center grouping, led by Eugene Dennis, the Party’s general secretary. The third was the “left,” led by William Z. Foster, Bob Thompson, and Ben Davis. The fourth was the so-called “ultra-Left,” which called itself the Marxist-Leninist Caucus. [1] It was this grouping, out of which grew the Provisional Organizing Committee to Reconstitute the Marxist-Leninist Communist Party (POC), with which I was associated.

I joined the CP in Philadelphia in January 1958 (I was seventeen) after about a year of working with Party people in youth activities.

He then became active in communist activities helping to create the Provisional Organizing Committee to Reconstitute the Marxist-Leninist Communist Party which he was expelled from in 1966.

More from the Times:

He worked in a Chicago steel mill and in factories that made farm equipment and electrical parts for two decades. At the steel mill, he helped organize strikes and protests by the predominantly black work force.

He was laid off from the steel mill in 1984, a year after he was arrested on charges of throwing a paint bomb at a strike-breaker's car. He set up Marxist discussion groups in the early 1980s. In 1985, Mr. Ignatiev was accepted to the Harvard Graduate School of Education without an undergraduate degree. After earning his master's, he joined the Harvard faculty as a lecturer and worked toward a doctorate in U.S. history.

This is what Harvard and other colleges hire to teach students.

For those that can stand it, this is Ignatiev at his finest:

Up until last Monday, he was still a college professor.

Amazing, isn't it?

*****Update: It has come to my attention that this might be a hoax.

When I first saw this in the morning, I checked the About section of DC's website:

Diversity Chronicle is a News web site focusing on news events relating to diversity of all kinds. Our veteran hard hitting journalists are not afraid to tackle any subject from a rational, objective and balanced point of view.

Sounded good.

Then I did a Google search and found that Ignatiev is a real person. Has a Wikipedia page. Above-referenced article about him at the Washington Times as well as published memoir cited. Videos at YouTube including the one above.

As such, these comments though absurd were in keeping with what he's been saying for years.

However, after receiving a tip that this was satirical, I checked the website again, and found this at the Disclaimer section:

The original content on this blog is largely satirical.

“I ceased in the year 1764 to believe that one can convince one’s opponents with arguments printed in books. It is not to do that, therefore, that I have taken up my pen, but merely so as to annoy them, and to bestow strength and courage on those on our own side, and to make it known to the others that they have not convinced us.” – Georg Christoph Lichtenberg.

It is in the spirit of the above quote that I write. Who am I you may ask? My name is Erik Thorson. I created this blog for my own personal amusement.

Did these folks take a real person and extend his previously absurd comments in this manner?

Seems like a dangerous thing to do in this litigious world we live in, but at this point, it appears quite possible.

If that's the case, I sincerely apologize for furthering the hoax, but not for putting sunlight on this man's well-documented vile beliefs.
