Supporting a Traitor: Hollywood Releases ‘I Am Bradley Manning’ Video

With the start of the Bradley Manning court martial, a number of famous and not-so famous Hollywood liberals have released a video in support of their hero.

It includes the likes of Oliver Stone, Russell Brand, Peter Sarsgaard, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Moby, Tom Morello, Wallace Shawn, and the perilously liberal so-called journalists Matt Taibbi, Phil Donahue, and Chris Hedges (video follows with transcribed highlights and commentary):

The video began with various participants holding signs saying “See Something, Say Something?” and then a number reading “I Am Bradley Manning.”

“When you join the military,” said a man that's unknown to me, “are you asked to keep any war crimes you might see secret?”

“You see something that is so wrong," claimed Stone, "it’s very hard for a lower-level soldier to turn on his officers and say, ‘There was a war crime here.’”

"The whole concept of whistleblower laws are you cannot get into for reporting about illegal or improper activities," added Taibbi.

"I think we have to be clear that the cables were not top secret documents," asserted Hedges.

"It’s an absurd charge - 'giving aid and comfort to the enemy,'" stated another unknown man.

Then various participants, reading a quote attributed to Manning, said in series, “If you saw incredible things, awful things, things that belonged in the public domain, and not on some server stored in a dark room in Washington, D.C., what would you do?”

Next came numerous claims of “I am Bradley Manning" and "I hope that we are all Bradley Manning.”

The video ended with Rage Against the Machine guitarist Tom Morello saying, “If you know nothing about Bradley Manning, you should find out, and then you should help me bust him out of jail.”

Yes, let's bust a traitor out of jail, shall we?
