M-BS-NBC: Fineman Falsely Claims Gingrich Never Says 'President Obama' - 'It's Usually Just Obama'

The levels America's media will go to protect Barack Obama often stagger the mind.

On MSNBC's Hardball Tuesday, the Huffington Post's Howard Fineman not only complained about how the former Speaker of the House refers to the current White House resident - "I've never heard Newt Gingrich call President Obama 'President Obama.' It's usually just 'Obama'" - his assertion was totally false (video follows with transcript and commentary):

HOWARD FINEMAN: You and I have just spent the last month immersed in, listening to, and covering some of the most divisive rhetoric that I've heard on the campaign trail in years, and I've been out there for many, many years. They don't accept the President's legitimacy in many ways. I've never heard Newt Gingrich call President Obama 'President Obama.' It's usually just 'Obama.'

Really?

The transcript of Thursday's debate in South Carolina identified nine times that Gingrich referred to the current White House resident. He said "Barack Obama" seven times, "President Obama" once, and "Obama" once.

The transcript of Tuesday's debate in South Carolina identified five times that Gingrich referred to the current White House resident always as "Barack Obama."

The transcript of Saturday's debate in Florida didn't identify any times that Gingrich referred to the current White House resident by any name.

As such, in the three debates this past week, Gingrich referred to the current White House resident twelve times as "Barack Obama," once as "President Obama," and only once as just "Obama."

I guess this is another instance of why Chris Matthews recently referred to his network as "M-BS-NBC."

Associate Editor’s note: As you are likely aware, since the financial collapse of 2008, charities and non-profit organizations have seen a sharp reduction in donations. Although the environment has improved, contributions are still nowhere near where they were prior to the recession. Unfortunately, the Media Research Center has not been immune. With this in mind, your support has become more important than ever. With a critical election approaching, the liberal media needs to be monitored 24/7. As we have been predicting for months, the press are willing to do anything to get their beloved politicians elected and/or reelected. As such, we need your help to fight this fight. Any contribution, even $10, is greatly appreciated. Please consider a tax-deductible gift to the Media Research Center to help us battle the liberal media. Thank you.
