George Takei: Nixing Roe Proves GOP is 'Mean-Spirited and Dangerous'

Appearing on Friday’s edition of The View, radical leftist actor and activist George Takei claimed the possible overturning of Roe v. Wade by the Supreme Court proves how "mean-spirited and dangerous" conservatives are. He also claimed conservatives don't care about the mothers or babies after they're born, saying they show "total irresponsibility" when dealing with them. And Joy Behar touts how they’re doing everything they can with their show to stop it.

After Behar introduced him and praised his liberal activism, Takei proceeded to lecture Republicans about what their values really are:

Well, a core value of the Republican Party I thought was small government, less, you know, freedom of speech, freedom of free trade, all that freedom. But when it comes to the most private area of a woman's life and decision-making government wants to ban it. I mean, it's not the Republican way.

What Takei either doesn’t understand or refuses to acknowledge is that the pro-life position is that abortion takes a life. So, it’s government outlawing a type of murder, that the government already bans.

“And then once the woman has a baby because of the ban, then what do they do with the children? Total irresponsibility … I mean, it is the most irrational and un-Republican act,” he sneered, parroting a falsehood we recently debunked on the NewsBusters Podcast.

Takei and Behar then went back and forth discussing how unpleasant conservatives supposedly were and how terrible America is:

BEHAR: And very mean. Very mean.

TAKEI: Mean-spirited and dangerous, and it's causing – creating a future for young people that – We have more child poverty in this country. We are the most irresponsible of the wealthy nations. So, we've got to absolutely react to this early leak.

“We're certainly doing our best on this show [to stop it],” Behar touted.

Keeping the hate flowing against Republicans, supposed Republican Ana Navarro set her sights on her home state of Florida with more disinformation about the Parental Rights in Education law. “Let's talk about another inclusive, compassionate Republican act. LGBTQ+ rights in Florida are also under attack with things like what gets referred to as the ‘don't say gay’ bill,” she sneered.

Ignoring the fact there are radical liberal teachers having/starting inappropriate conversations about their sex lives and other such topics, Navarro whined: “There are people who think that talking about sexuality in schools is equivalent to grooming children to be gay.” She completely missed the problem with the situation.

Of course, teachers can still have age-appropriate conversations if a student is the one to broach the subject. But that fact was lost on Takei who lamented, “it's so important for teachers who are working with young people who are making discoveries about themselves to give them guidance and compassionate advice…”

These smears of the pro-life right were made possible because of lucrative sponsorships from Dawn and Olay. Their contact information is linked.

JOY BEHAR: You know, I follow you on Twitter. You're a very outspoken political activist and I appreciate it. And, you know, we have been talking about the Supreme Court's slipup with the leak about Roe v. Wade. What are your thoughts on that?

GEORGE TAKEI: Well, a core value of the Republican Party I thought was small government, less, you know, freedom of speech, freedom of free trade, all that freedom. But when it comes to the most private area of a woman's life and decision-making --

BEHAR: Yeah.

TAKEI: -- Government wants to ban it. I mean, it's not the Republican way.

And then once the woman has a baby because of the ban, then what do they do with the children? Total irresponsibility.

BEHAR: Exactly.

TAKEI: Education -- Education budget is cut. Child care is cut. I mean, it is the most irrational and un-Republican act.

BEHAR: And very mean. Very mean.

TAKEI: Mean-spirited and dangerous, and it's causing – creating a future for young people that – We have more child poverty in this country. We are the most irresponsible of the wealthy nations. So, we've got to absolutely react to this early leak.

BEHAR: We're certainly doing our best on this show.

ANA NAVARRO: Let's talk about another inclusive, compassionate Republican act. LGBTQ+ rights in Florida are also under attack with things like what gets referred to as the “don't say gay” bill. There are people who think that talking about sexuality in schools is equivalent to grooming children to be gay.

When you hear that, talking about sexuality means you're getting groomed to be gay, what's your response to that?

TAKEI: Again, it's the same sweeping mentality. I've dealt with the “don't say gay” bill about ten years ago in Tennessee when a local politician, Stacy Campfield tried to ban teachers -- teachers of all people from using the word gay. I mean, it's so important for teachers who are working with young people who are making discoveries about themselves to give them guidance and compassionate advice, and --

NAVARRO: You had a line where you said you got groomed your entire life to be straight, and what happened?

TAKEI: Well. I happened.
