If there was one thing the liberal media does with the greatest of ease, it would be pretending the corruption of Democrats doesn’t exist. That talent was on full display Thursday as the Big Three Networks (ABC, CBS, and NBC) as well as Univision and Telemundo, ignored the conviction of former Florida Democratic Congresswoman Corrine Brown. “Corrine Brown has been found guilty on 18 fraud and tax evasion charges,” reported Fox News’ Bret Baier during Special Report.
“Brown was accused of illegally siphoning $800,000 from her charity into her own bank account for lavish parties, trips, shopping excursions,” he continued. “Brown said she did not know what was going on and blamed her former chief of staff who pleaded guilty to corruption charges and testified against her.”
But the story doesn’t end there. Her charity, called One Door, “was purported to give scholarships to poor students” according to Fox News. They also reported that:
Earlier this year, One Door President Carla Wiley pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud after it as determined that she had deposited $800,000 into the foundation's account over four years. Over that time, federal prosecutors say it gave one scholarship for $1,000 and that Wiley transferred herself tens of thousands of dollars.
“Brown watched the judge read each verdict in a silent courtroom with no visible reaction. She later left the courthouse holding onto the arm of a companion, surrounded by dozens of reporters,” reported the Orlando Sentinel. “A few supporters shouted, “We love you, Corrine!” and “Keep the faith!” as she silently made her way to a waiting car.”
Both ABC and CBS continued to dedicate large portions of their evening news programs to the firing of FBI Director James Comey. NBC dedicated the entirety of NBC Nightly News to Anchor Lester Holt’s interview with President Donald Trump. In a show of their priorities, CBS Evening News chose to run an entire segment highlighting House Republicans being yelled at by angry constituents at their town hall meetings, while Univision in turn found time to highlight the FBI's raid of the GOP-aligned campaign firm, Strategic Campaign Group.
