NBC Omits Report of Trump University Lawsuit Going to Trial

April 26th, 2016 8:26 PM

On Tuesday the New York attorney general announced that the class action lawsuit accusing Donald Trump of fraud, for his failed Trump University, will be going to trial. Of the big three new networks only NBC failed to report on the major news about the GOP front-runner. Not only was the public told that Trump would be called on to testify but the news broke during a very important primary day.

ABC reporter Tom Llamas pointed out how this news could taint what could be major victories for Trump. “But as Trump prepares to taste victory, he's now learning he will soon stand trial, accused of defrauding thousands of students out of millions of dollars at his now shuttered real estate school, Trump University.

Llamas reported that the attorney general called Trump University a “sham” and said Trump could be called to testify sometime in November, possibly around election time.

Compared to ABC, CBS spent little time on the news piece. “A New York judge today ordered a jury trial on a class action fraud suit against trump University,” reported Major Garrett preferring to spend more of his election night coverage talking about the Democratic side of the night.

And oddly, neither Univision nor Telemundo reported about Trump going to trial on fraud charges. Both are networks that love to bash Trump whenever they get the chance.

The lawsuit going to trail could mean bad news for Trump, especially when he has claimed he could have settled it whenever he wanted. Will this latest development sway voters one way or the other? We’ll have to wait and see.

LLAMAS: But as Trump prepares to taste victory, he's now learning he will soon stand trial, accused of defrauding thousands of students out of millions of dollars at his now shuttered real estate school, Trump University.

D. TRUMP: At Trump University, we teach success. That's what it's all about. Success. It's going to happen to you.

LLAMAS: New York's attorney general today calling Trump University a sham, saying he expects Trump himself will be called as a witness this fall, right around election time. The bombshell comes as Trump looks to widen his lead over Senator Ted Cruz and Governor John Kasich, and crush their shaky new alliance.
