Fox News Channel personality Geraldo Rivera recently weighed in on Cecil the Lion and the controversy surrounding Walter Palmer, the Minnesota dentist who killed the beloved lion.

Geraldo took to twitter and tweeted the following:

"Penis Envy" probably wasn't the phrase Geraldo was going for, as Mediaite points out:

"Yes, "penis envy" is a Freudian concept about young women during their psychosexual development, but we'll let it slide. Geraldo seems to mean "envy" in the newer sense - i.e., big tough men acting a certain way because of deep-seated insecurities about their penis size."

This isn't the first time Geraldo has tweeted about Cecil. On July 28, he tweeted that killing Cecil was a jailable offense: "The jerkoff that killed the lion is a jailable criminal. Plus, isn't it weird that @HillaryClinton does not have a position on Keystone?"

Although "penis envy" seems like a pretty ridiculous statement to make, it's not as nearly as ridiculous as the one PETA issued,  with their radical leader Ingrid Newkirkliterally calling for Palmer to be hanged:

“Hunting is a coward’s pastime. If, as has been reported, this dentist and his guides lured Cecil out of the park with food so as to shoot him on private property, because shooting him in the park would have been illegal, he needs to be extradited, charged, and, preferably, hanged." To get a thrill at the cost of a life, this man gunned down a beloved lion, Cecil with a high-powered weapon. All wild animals are beloved by their own mates and infants, but to hunters like this overblown, over-privileged little man, who lack empathy, understanding, and respect for living creatures, they are merely targets to kill, decapitate, and hang up on a wall as a trophy.”

For his part, Palmer deeply regrets having killed Cecil, and issued the following statement to the Minneapolis Star Tribune:

“I had no idea that the lion I took was a known, local favorite, was collared and part of a study until the end of the hunt. I relied on the expertise of my local professional guides to ensure a legal hunt....I deeply regret that my pursuit of an activity I love and practice responsibly and legally resulted in the taking of this lion."
