Scarborough Slams CNN and Other MSM 'Trump Deniers'

October 12th, 2015 8:03 AM

Says Joe Scarborough, if Jeb Bush had Donald Trump's poll numbers, the media would proclaim the race "T-K-Over." Yet rather than touting Trump's commanding lead, the liberal media speculates instead on the Donald's "exit strategy." That had Scarborough blasting CNN and other MSM outlets as "Trump deniers" on today's Morning Joe.

Why is the MSM unwilling to give Donald his due?  Scarborough suggested the media should "just admit: we hate him so much, that even when he is trouncing everybody, we loathe this vulgarian from Queens who we've never accepted into our club and screw him, we're never going to give him any sort of respect." Concluded Joe: "I call them Trump deniers."

Scarborough should note that fighting Trump deniers begins at home.  A week ago, MSNBC ran an item by Chuck Todd headlined "Trump plots his exit strategy."

Shades of Peter Jennings: Pollster Charlie Cook appeared later on the show, and was a prime example of Trump denial.  Echoing the late Peter Jennings' explanation of the GOP landslide in 1994, Cook accused Republican supporters of Trump and other outsiders of having a "temper tantrum" and predicted that Trump's support would fade.

JOE SCARBOROUGH: John Heilemann said it last week and I've heard a lot of other people follow up by saying that if Jeb Bush had Donald Trump's numbers, the race would be called.

MIKE BARNICLE: Over.

JOE: T-K-Over.

WILLIE GEIST: I don't understand the question, when the guy is at the top of the poll and he's been there for what, four months now, the question is: when will you decide to get out of the race? What?! Why would he get out.

JOE: By the way, so, we do our orphanage work usually Friday nights, because we work so hard --

MIKA BRZEZINSKI: Stop!

JOE: -- so we say goodbye, we leave the orphanage, leave Hoboken--some wonderful kids over there by the way, wonderful kids. We come back over here and I'm in my, I walk past a TV, I turn it on, it's CNN: swear to God, I love CNN, great people there, salt of the earth. A 10-minute segment, I kid you not --

MIKA: Oh tell me.

JOE: "Trump's Exit Strategy." And they talk for 10 minutes about how Donald Trump is getting ready to leave -- you know he's a business man after all, he's a businessman, and he's smart. Donald Trump is planning to, I mean, Trump's exit strategy. And I sit there going: what am I missing and I look at a New Hampshire poll which --

MIKA: That's what you're missing.

JOE: We should show you a New Hampshire poll. And I started adding up.  If you add up like just about everybody else's numbers: add up Jeb's, add up Marco's, add up Cruz's, add up Rand Paul's, add up Lindsey Graham's, add up all of them. They don't even come close to Donald Trump's 32%. And the conversation continues. At what point does the media just admit: we hate him so much, that even when he is trouncing everybody, we loathe this vulgarian from Queens who we've never accepted into our club and screw him, we're never going to give him any sort of respect. At what point are they just going to say, okay, this is about math. I called them Trump deniers last week; they're math deniers."

MIKA: Oh, totally.
