Questions for Mike Barnicle: does the phrase "suicide bomber" ring a bell? How about "martyrdom" in the name of Allah?
On today's Morning Joe, Barnicle's argument in favor of the Iran deal was that to oppose it, one would "have to believe Iran is suicidal." The former Boston Globe columnist reasoned that if Iran dropped an atomic bomb on Tel Aviv, "Tehran would be a combination of glass and sand and cement within 15 minutes."
Amazing: Barnicle somehow knows that the Iranian leaders are lying when they repeatedly state that their goal is to wipe Israel off the map. He's sure that these fanatics wouldn't see ridding the world of the Zionist entity to be worth any price. He's willing to risk the lives of millions of Israelis on his assumption that the mullahs wouldn't choose to go out with a bang while in their minds ensuring their place in Islamic heaven.
MIKE BARNICLE: When you're looking at the deal, if you're inclined to favor some sort of settlement in the Middle East, okay? Now, people have been trying to reach a deal like this on both sides for decades. What's going to happen here is, in order to vote against the deal and use the language that's been employed in coming against the deal -- some people, not you -- you have to believe that Iran is suicidal at some core. That they want a nuclear weapon drop it on Tel Aviv. If they ever did that, Tehran would be a combination of glass and sand and cement within 15 minutes.
JOE SCARBOROUGH: Yes, they would.
