Fake news pioneer Dan Rather was on Lawrence O’Donnell’s MSNBC show The Last Word Thurday night, and he knew exactly why President Trump disagreed with him on climate policy: it’s because of deep rooted psychological difficulties.
Rather, deeply attuned to the President’s innermost thoughts, relayed just how dark the past few days have been in the Trumpian psyche: "He just came back from this European trip, and he was angry with the leader of Germany, Ms. Merkel, and the new leader of France. So what you have here is a President who is lashing out in anger.
The clairvoyant former CBS anchor continued, as Rather proceeded to use his telepathic knowledge of the psychological states of American presidents past and present to illustrate the severity of Trump’s psychological prognosis: “We haven't had a president this psychologically troubled -- I'm trying to use my language real carefully. We haven't had a president this psychologically troubled in this way since at least Richard Nixon.”
Rather was sure to let the American people know just how “carefully” he chose the “language” with which he slandered the Commander in Chief’s mental acuity, and thus, in his mind, we should be grateful and humbled that he allowed the audience a glance into his unparalleled Freudian musings.
Prognostications on the President's mental health by professionals and amateurs alike are hardly new; the New York Times ran an op-ed asking whether it was time to call Trump mentally ill, and the Atlantic even brought on a psychologist to write an entire piece on Trump's sociobehavioral abnormalities.
While political criticisms of the previous administration yielded unfettered accusations of bigotry and intolerance, speculation about the President's mental health and faux-executions seem par for the course when the Left doesn't like the Commander in Chief.
