You can tell a lot from a project’s press release.
It’s not only about the actors and crew members name-checked. Occasionally, a film’s release date can be a clue to its intent. Some films and TV shows drop before a presidential election, for instance, and that’s no accident.
In the case of “Deadlocked,” you need only consider the platform releasing the title.

The network previously gave us “The Comey Rule,” the biggest misinformation project in modern memory. The two-part series pretended the Russian collusion hoax was real, long after much of it had already been exposed as misinformation.
The network has yet to apologize for airing a miniseries based on information that has been repeatedly debunked, from the Mueller Report to the Durham Report.

“Deadlocked: How America Shaped the Supreme Court” takes a look at the U.S. Supreme Court over the years, with a heavy focus on the last four.
The four-part docuseries suggests the Supreme Court exists to promote “social change,” as opposed to upholding the Constitution.
Houston, we have a problem!
Right away the propaganda is as thick as an early morning fog. The docuseries’ official description attempts to play it straight. Mostly.
Weighing in on all rights protected by the Constitution, the nine unelected [emphasis added] Justices of the Supreme Court have the final word on issues that impact our democracy and daily lives, including the right to privacy and access to the ballot. DEADLOCKED premieres at a profoundly consequential time, as Americans grapple with a Supreme Court drastically remade by former President Donald Trump; the historic confirmation of Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson; the unprecedented leak from inside the Court’s chambers; and the aftershock of the landmark Dobbs decision’s effective reversal of Roe v. Wade.
The project’s bias is showing, but it still could be a relatively even-handed look at a powerful institution. Except the project’s director, Emmy winner Dawn Porter, weighs in next:
The United States Supreme Court is one of the most powerful institutions in the world, determining the rights we all rely on. In this series, I wanted to explore the history that led us to this moment where we have a Court issuing rulings in a manner that appears more ideological than legally sound,” said Porter in a press release statement. “Whether they are ignoring precedent, cherry picking history to overrule long-standing precedent or deciding an unprecedented number of cases on the emergency docket without opinion, this Court is unlike any from the modern era.
Fair? Balanced? Are you kidding?
It’s in line with the far-Left demanding President Joe Biden “pack the court” to bring a progressive bent back to the august body. Or the Biden administration failing to arrest those picketing at the homes of conservative justices since their actions are illegal.
The trailer is outrageously biased, without a single talking head defending the current court’s makeup or the Constitution.
“It’s really not a conservative court. It’s a quite radical court,” one expert says. The narration suggests the current court isn’t “legitimate,” too.
The series would look right at home on MSNBC.
“Deadlocked” debuts Sept. 22 on Showtime.
