ABC News Hypes Liberal Actress Confronting Sen. Ted Cruz

ABCNews.com this afternoon hyped an exchange between liberal actress Ellen Page, who is a lesbian, and Republican presidential candidate Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) on the issue of protecting the religious liberties of wedding-service providers who won't take same-sex wedding jobs due to religious convictions.

"Ellen Page Confronts Senator Ted Cruz on Gay Rights at Iowa State Fair," insists the headline to the story. "WATCH @EllenPage Confront Ted Cruz on Gay Rights at Iowa Fair. http://abcn.ws/1NqZAgn," the This Week with George Stephanopoulos Twitter account teased followers.

Fortunately for readers, both the tweet and the story included the full video of the exchange which shows Cruz capably and politely schooling Ms. Page on how small-business owners who have no problem providing services to gays and lesbians have been persecuted for their politely declining to take jobs that would require them to participate in the celebration of a same-sex union.

"Despite misleading ABC headline, @TedCruz once again politely wins the argument: @ThisWeekABC http://abcn.ws/1NqZAgn," tweeted one Anne Leary, whose Twitter handle is @backyardconserv. Spot on, Anne.
