Even Eric Holder’s Justice Department was forced to admit that it was untrue that Michael Brown stood innocently and said “Hands up, don’t shoot” when police officer Darren Wilson shot him dead.
“It remains not only valid — but essential — to question how such a strong alternative version of events was able to take hold so swiftly, and be accepted so readily,” Holder said.
The New York Times suggested that "for many," the blame belonged to the Ferguson Police Department. But that department can’t spread a dishonest “alternative version of events” with anything like the power of the national media. MRCTV and Ben Howe underlined what happened:
The Justice Department declared “There is no evidence upon which prosecutors can rely to disprove Wilson’s stated subjective belief that he feared for his safety,” and concluded those who claimed Brown was surrendering were not credible witnesses.
“Those witness accounts stating that Brown never moved back toward Wilson could not be relied upon in a prosecution because their accounts cannot be reconciled with the DNA bloodstain evidence and other credible witness accounts.”
