Bozell, Carlson Note Media's Silence on Obama Supporter's Bribe to Hush Rev. Wright

By NB Staff | May 25, 2012 | 10:32

A  A

NBC, ABC and CBS have all ignored a new book by former Newsweek foreign editor Ed Klein that contains a shocking allegation from Klein's interview with Rev. Jeremiah Wright in which the former Obama pastor claimed that an Obama supporter offered him $150,000 if he would refrain from preaching until after the 2008 election.

From "now until election day," the liberal media will be seeking to herald only news that "advances Obama" while spiking news that "hurts him in any way," NewsBusters publisher Brent Bozell told Hannity substitute host Tucker Carlson on the May 24 program's "Media Mash." By contrast, "when [George W.] Bush ran for reelection, there were a slew of books that came out against him" and their authors were "all over" the broadcast network news programs promoting their claims. What's more, "Even when Bob Woodward wrote a book that was generally [favorable] to Bush," the fake National Guard memo-peddling anchor "brought him on to attack Bush."

"The duplicity is extraordinary," the Media Research Center (MRC) founder concluded.

Also discussed on last night's "Media Mash" was MSNBC host Chris Matthews going into full foaming-at-the-mouth mode to attack an Obama-supporting Democrat for daring to go off-script.

"Isn't liberal tolerance fun?" Bozell quipped  after watching a clip of MSNBC's Chris Matthews denounce Obama-supporting Democratic Mayor Cory Booker (Newark, N.J.) as a 'saboteur' for criticizing the Obama campaign's harsh attacks on private equity firms.

Booker is "on Obama's side" but he dares to utter a defense of the free enterprise system and that is intolerable to Obama acolytes in the media like Matthews.

"Karl Rove is giggling right now, and he's praying, he's hoping against hope that the Obama administration listens to Chris Matthews, because it will cost him the election," the MRC president argued.

Edwards Trial

Wouldn't such an offer be the legal equivalent of what John Edwards did -- an unreported campaign contribution?

The act of "offering him".

Offered him what?  Something is missing here.

Ceasing to Amaze

The MSM is dumber than their viewers and readership. They act as though they are the only source of news. I guess news stands in Leftist bastions don't allow Leftist propaganda rags to be displayed next to real news publications. Pitty, the mighty Gray Lady has morphed into a tabloid.

To more fully comprehend the Left, one must read “Leftism As Psychopathy” by John Ray, M.A., Ph.D. Caution, it might scare you a little bit.

10%

If the MSM covered Obama's problems at just 10% of the rate that they focused on Bush's problems, Obama would have announced that he's not running for re-election a long time ago, because he would have been under 35% in the polls. That's why they keep their mouth's shut about virtually everything, and paint the false positive narrative as much as possible.

Bribe? What bribe??

Submitted by motherbelt on Fri, 05/25/2012 - 12:21pm.

Has the NYT covered this story yet?  After all, they thought "worries" about a "rumor" of a "possible" affair by John McCain years ago  was a fit subject for their paper!

I'm guessing they're suddenly against covering what they will now call unsubstantiated claims by a party with an ax to grind.

And regarding Matthews and Booker: Matthews also let the veil slip when he complained that what Booker said ("capitalism is good") was "180 degrees" from what the president stands for.

add to that, '"worries" about a "rumor" of a "possible" affair by John McCain years ago' was fit for the front page of the NYT.

about silence

Submitted by Agnostic on Fri, 05/25/2012 - 12:40pm.

What about the silence that one of the gentlemen who helped run Obama's 2008 campaign is a venture capitalist with a history of laying off employees in the same manner that Romney is under attack for now from Obama?

What about the silence about the amount money pouring into Obama from Wall Street and venture capatilist?
