Bozell, Hannity Address Media's Double Standard on Presidential Drug Use

By NB Staff | May 21, 2012 | 13:06

A  A

"In 2008, in the primaries, there were 1,365 stories on Barack Obama" and of those, "not one single story" was devoted to President Barack Obama's admitted youthful use of illicit drugs. By contrast, President Bush's refusal to admit either way on youthful drug use in the 2000 campaign was met with non-stop media scrutiny, NewsBusters publisher Brent Bozell noted on Friday's edition of Hannity on the Fox News Channel.

What's more, when Hillary Clinton's campaign raised the subject of Obama's drug use in the 2008 campaign, it was denounced by the media as descending "into the gutter," the Media Research Center founder noted on the May 18 edition of Sean Hannity's primetime program. I'm Sorry, But...

Submitted by HardRightTurn on Mon, 05/21/2012 - 1:51pm.

Stories of Leftist media bias are becoming so passé and boring. Please direct your focus to more compelling issues, like, Obama's drug use in the White House. Proof you say? He acts like a junkie, therefore, he is a junkie.

To more fully comprehend the Left, one must read “Leftism As Psychopathy” by John Ray, M.A., Ph.D. Caution, it might scare you a little bit.

Double Standard?

One President tells the truth, and another declined to address the issue. Why should they be treated the same way?

The "right" alternative media gets all wrapped up on silliness

Submitted by lrgon on Mon, 05/21/2012 - 3:57pm.

That the media doesn't treat conservatives fairly has been common knowledge known for generations. Vice president Spiro Agnew exposed the media from his office for the liars and agenda driven rats that they are.

There are more hard drug addicts that have a stronger will power than congress! Drug addicts have a greater capacity to break their habits than the congress and the president.

During an election cycle the pressure is put on these people to balance the federal budget and what do these addicts do? Paul Ryan, who gets his spending fix from the Heritage Foundation, proposes weaning congress off spending by reducing the proposed spending over decades! He proposes NOT touching the actual RED INK that is spilling over everytime the GOP has control of the budgetary process!

During the "glorious" Reagan years the congress shoved the national debt past the Trillion Dollar ceiling. All that Ronald Reagan and his "economic advisors" did was to decrease the projecting spending increase! Is it any wonder that with "conservatives" like Nixon, Reagan and the Bushes that we are in debt up to our ears?

These conservative GOPers handed a future morally bankrupt president the mechanism to spend the nation into total ruin. Obama is taking advantage of something the GOP refused to do when they had the power to balance the budget numerous times. Nixon added the EPA and OSHA to the bureaucracy and refused to use market-driven economics and instead chose "Keynesianism" as his ideology.

Reagan bitched about unbalanced bugets out on the campaign trail and once in office he used his pen to sign more increases to the national debt. Bush senior gave us another costly war and Dubya" increased the national debt by 3.5 TRILLION. Bush junior created ten of thousands more bureaucratic jobs. Even a genuine village idiot would have seen the stupidity of creating the 200,00 man Dept. of Homeland Security just to ward off a handful of terrorists! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_Department_of_Homeland_Security

That the media treats Obama with kid gloves is not a story. The media has to create the illusion that both Political Parties are opposites; that they represent different ideological sides of the political spectrum when facts speak louder than words - both Party "leaders" are hardcore spending addicts.

And, we know, Ronpaul is the answer. Even though your buddy, Gordon Duff, is demonstrating that the Paulians are still in love with Baracka.

You don't even have the intellectual honesty and cajones

Submitted by lrgon on Mon, 05/21/2012 - 7:56pm.

to debate the issue: that both political parties are BIG SPENDERS. You slide off like a skeered rabbit into attacking the only person in congress whose record is not kowtowing to the establishment agenda.

Thank God in heaven that the true conservatives are once again running for office and God willing we may get this runaaway spending under control before the establishment of BOTH Parties destroys the American Republic! http://www.thenewamerican.com/usnews/politics/item/11463-can-anti-establ...?

unless you are using 'cajones' as some sort of descriptive for dyed-in-the-wool Birchers like yourself - or mind boggling weirdos like your imagined cure for the entire gamut of all the ills that beset America - ol' super stud mouse Ron Paul.

Posters here learned some time ago that you don't debate; you merely post screechy bullshit regarding what YOU think a real conservative is made of.

Three points for you: 1) Lay off the Lew Rockwell. It reeks of conspiracies and he is as sanctimonious as anyone at msnbc.

2) If you intend to use Spanish lingo, do yourself the favor and spell correctly. Cajones is wrong unless you are talking about some bedroom furniture. The proper word is in fact Cojones.

3) No intentes ser tan idiota ¿eh?

For the MSM: In your pomp and all your glory, you're a poorer man than me.  As you lick the boots of death born out of fear.

As stupid as Duh One is apparently he had enough sense -- or advisors smart enough to tell him -- to wait long enough before admitting his drug use.

The federal statute of limitations that applies to criminal charges says that once 5 years has passed from the commission of the offense, the federal government is barred from filing charges.

Submitted by UpNorth on Mon, 05/21/2012 - 3:25pm.

that's a little, compared to an ounce.

But, I do believe you're right about how Baracka felt about the media eventually finding out.  He probably, in his wildest dreams, never thought they'd so willingly prostitute themselves for him.
