NB's Bozell Discusses Push for Congress to Investigate Comcast/NBC

By NB Staff | April 12, 2012 | 16:43

A  A

NBC's apology for its malicious Zimmerman 911 audio edits is woefully inadequate, NewsBusters publisher Brent Bozell noted on last night's "Hannity." For instance, the network has not given an on-air apology, only a written apology in a press release. What's more, the network has not disclosed the name of the producer it fired, even as it insists his error was not malicious in intent.

That's why, "we've gone to Congress now," Bozell noted, pointing out that NBC's parent company Comcast is looking for approval of a deal with Verizon that raises "potential antitrust issues." "We're asking them what about the public trust?" the Media Research Center founder noted. "This network simply just can't be trusted," he concluded. [See video below page break]

On call to investigate NBC, etc. - let's not forget B Williams

Submitted by Gary Hall on Thu, 04/12/2012 - 5:53pm.

On the call to investigate NBC, etc. - let's not forget the bold misrepresentations (lies) pushed by the likes of NBC's Brian Williams, and CNN's Piers Morgan recently. Needless to say, many more in the national media were playing the same game. The game I refer to  was clearly exposed by NewsBusters in regards to the meeting on the tarmac between AZ Governor, Jan Brewer and President Obama.

In the first one:

NBC Nightly News anchor Brian Williams on Thursday, reacting with predictably similar disgust as the rest of the media to the picture of Arizona Governor Jan Brewer pointing her finger at Barack Obama, asked viewers, "Who have you ever seen talking to the president like this?"

See Flashback 2006: NBC's Brian Williams Points Finger At President Bush, where it's revealed that yes indeed - we have seen such before. It was Brian Williams himself, poking his finger into Bush's chest repeatedly, in one of his vile efforts to aggressively attack Bush.

In the second one, here:

CNN's Piers Morgan accused Gov. Jan Brewer (R-Ariz.) of "jabbing him [Obama] in the chest and threatening all sorts of things,"

Of course, neither of those claims by CNN's Piers Morgan are true; rather they are fabricated lies. Sure, it's great that Gov. Brewer did and admirable job of defending herself against the pathetic lies made by Morgan, but should not something else have occurred? Should not Morgan been fired? Should not the national media come to her aid, demanding that CNN end all such dishonest reporting?

Needless to say there are many more heavyweights in the national media who regularly distort, or misreport, the news, and who push hateful vitriol and division based upon untruths, in their like minded and conspiratorial-like want to push their liberal agenda on a very damaged audience.

It's indeed time for a congressional investigation, and time for a call for ethical standards to be introduced to the MSM.

While we're at it, let's have

Submitted by ex buff e-dub on Thu, 04/12/2012 - 7:40pm.

While we're at it, let's have Congress investigate Eric Holder for not pursuing action against the New Black Panther Party for inciting riots, and posting a $10,000 bounty on Zimmerman...

Force the IRS to disallow their "business" expenses

Submitted by MaximusBraveheart on Thu, 04/12/2012 - 11:06pm.

Their "news," all of those salaries and expenses are a POLITICAL donation and not a business expense. CONGRESS do something! The back tax bill they will owe would 100% put them out of business. NBC, ABC, CBS GONE!

Congress, Brent? Really?

Submitted by CobraMan on Fri, 04/13/2012 - 12:56pm.

Brent, are you actually suggesting that Congress should get involved? Really? The Do Nothing, more government is better Congress? The same Congress people like yourself complain about on a daily basis? That's like asking the Black Panthers to investigate hate crimes! It's counter productive!

Here's an idea: practice what you preach and let the market decide!

The Citizens of each State shall be entitled to all Privileges and Immunities of Citizens in the several States. The US Constitution

Unless you're a fetus. The US Supreme Court

Or Anwar al-Awlaki.
