Today NewsBusters publisher and Media Research Center (MRC) president Brent Bozell launched a new website: IStandWithRush.org, where visitors can sign a petition denouncing "attempts by radical left-wing organizations and the media to censor Rush and his commonsense conservative message."
Rush apologized for his initial comments, "but the Left won't accept the apology" and "won't be satisfied until all of Limbaugh's advertisers pull the plug on his show," Bozell noted, before detailing a litany of instances where liberal talk show hosts like Mike Malloy and left-wing comedians like Bill Maher used misogynistic and venomous invective to trash conservative women in politics. It's time to find out which advertisers dumped Rush or threatened to so that they can be roundly boycotted and then find out which ones are filling the gap so that they may be roundly patronized.
This Fluke "gal" is a Dem plant who made herself into one. What a giant surprise she's not accepting a genuine apology nor are the Dems (such as all the anchors/correspondents on NBC/ABC/CBS/CNN ad nauseam) going to let this go, no matter what.
Starting with Chief Marxist George Stephanopoulos a few weeks back, the Dems have been placing their "social issues" shoehorn into the public discourse in a (hopefully vain) effort to divert attention from the monstrous failures of Obummer and his adoring mob (like on MSNBC).
How in blast does someone get the privilege of being a Congressional committee witness to testify on some need to have what has been already so accessible?????
And why is there some perceived need to pander to hedonism?

Rush apologized, and today opened his show with an extensive monologue where, on 3 occasions, he reiterated the apology. Doesn't matter. To her, and to the Left, they do not separate the insult from the topical disagreement.
So, though he apologized for the insult, honestly and sincerely, and said he was wrong and should not have said those things about her, and said that she is not either of those things he called her, they can't separate that from disagreement on the issue, and overall disagreement with political philosophy.
Unless he were to sincerely change his view on the topic, and praise her genuinely for it, and say something along the lines of........ "you know, I have thought about this and Ms. Fluke was absolutely correct in demanding the government force Georgetown to supply free contraception,"..........then there's nothing they will even begin to accept.
Reality is, they wouldn't accept even that, but that would be the closest he could possibly come to getting them to even ponder acceptance, and at that point, it's not acceptance of apology anyway. Instead, it would simply be confirmation to them that they can shutdown speech and bully someone into their way of thinking just by going after them personally. It would only encourage them, not that they need it.
Their minds are what they are, and won't be changed in any way unless you become one of them. Unless you do that, and convert to their religion, you are simply an infidel who's speech is to be shutdown simply because you are not one of them.

And, the last paragraph says that Rush's comments "directed at a specific individual, meets the Supreme Court test for obscenity: it appeals to prurient interest, it depicts offensive sexual conduct (peeping Toms) and it lacks serious literary, artistic or political value".

When I heard yesterday about the advertisers leaving, I went to Pro Flowers and erased all my data. There was no link for deleting the account so I emailed them. In the email, I said "Since your business decision was based on Rush's comments, your decision was not business, it was political. So my business decision is to not do business with you." I received a canned response of Thank you for your interest... or something like that...lol.

I signed the petition and would do so a thousand more times if I could. Enough is enough. Rush's comments were inappropriate, but he apologized. Ms. Fluke could've taken the high road and accepted his apology, but the fact that she didn't proves that she's more interested in getting mileage out of her 15 minutes than doing the right thing. There seem to be people in the MSM who actually think that this incident will be Rush's undoing. Meanwhile, sleaze like Bill Maher and David Letterman continue their careers completely unabated by the same outrage that has met Rush's comments. We are fed up with the unabashed hypocrisy from the smear merchants on the left. They do not get to tell lecture us on civility and morality. I've listened to Rush for almost 20 years, and I will not stop now.

It is absurd that that woman requests other people to pay for her birth control. It is absurd that she spends $3,000 per school year on birth control.
It is absurd that she attended a Catholic college with the intent of changing the rules when she could have gone to a secular college.
It is absurd that the Democrats allowed her to testify before them after she was turned down by the regular committee.
It is absurd that she wants other people to pay for sex changes.
Where do we stop? Health Club and Golf Club memberships are quite expensive. Maybe she can get other people to pay for them too. Afterall, they do benefit one's health, don't they?.

Rush has been on the air for well over twenty years, broadcasting three hours per day, five days per week. As far as I know, this is the first time he was ever forced to apologize.
No one is perfect, not even Rush, when it comes to broadcasting, but he came darn close.
Rush was right in what he said by illustrating the absurd with absurdity. He just should not have said the two words Liberals say and get away with all the time.

I listened to Rush's whole show that day and the first 45 minutes was an unqualified apology, regarding what he was sorry about. He was sorry that he used the words slut and prostitute. That was all. He didn't say, "if I offended anyone, I am sorry". He said he was sorry he used those words.
Has Ed Schultz toned it down? I don't know, I don't listen to him. When someone says their sorry, they only way to really tell if it's true is to see how they act in the future. Sorry is just the start.

I believe Ed was sincere in his apology. I believe Rush was sincere in his apology.
Apologizing doesn't mean one must change to agreement with the idea espoused by the person who you personally "attacked" (for lack of a better word). Ed still doesn't agree with Laura Ingrahm, but his apology was not about philosophical disagreement, it was about words used personally against her. Rush still doesn't agree with Sandra Fluke, but his apology was not about philosophical disagreement, it was about words used personally against her.
All that being as it is and was, the media reaction is off the chart different. Night and day. Rush is a big fish in the pond, and the Left are crocodiles that have been sitting on the bank for years, waiting for moments on which they can pounce. There have been some, and their organization and vitriol in recent years has them salivating this time. No apology would have been accepted. Rush could have severed his legs and said it was to show how sorry he was, and it would not have made any difference to the Left. No apology, zero apology would be accepted, because they taste blood in the water, they see an opportunity to take down the biggest fish. Sandra Fluke cannot accept the apology, as it would dampen the Left's current campaign. And that is what it is, a campaign. Rush's words against Sandra Fluke don't truly matter to them, but they if they think they can use those words to push to silence the big fish that has evaded them for years, damn the forest, let's take down that tree.

Trailer Trash in her urgency, forgot that the real debate here is about a President unconstitutionally mandating that contraception be distributed through the Catholic Church and other religious institutions, something that is strictly against their religious beliefs and an aberration to their first amendment rights.
As far as the posting of pornography on the web...a request such as that is pure absurdity and since the left chose for absurdity they were met with it.

I don't get it, Rush has issued a public apology, so that should be the end of it. Just WHY does he need my support? Even if, and it;s a mighty big if, the liberals are successful in trying to get all his sponsors to "boycott" Rush's show, he worth MILLIONS! He can afford to start his own radio network.
Try as anyone might, you really can't force people to stop broadcasting their opinions to the entire world, if that is what they wish to do. There's FAR to many venues available for these type of "censorship" attempts to be effective. So, just what will this "petition" actually accomplish? It';s not like Rush is liable to disappear from the airwaves any time soon. His loyal fans will still listen to him, even if he is only broadcasting on a single ham radio station!
