Media Mash: The Left Can Stop Lecturing About Civility At Any Moment Now
MRC president Brent Bozell spread Christmas cheer and shared the "bumper crop" called the Best of Notable Quotables on the Hannity show on Fox News Thursday night. Guest host Mark Steyn began with multiple-award-winning Paul Krugman of the New York Times. He won the Grim Reaper Award for telling CNN that Paul Ryan's Medicare reforms would kill people.
"When it's not hatemongering, it's fearmongering," Bozell added. "You think, Mark, about those endless lectures we've heard from the Left over the years about hatemongering, and fearmongering, and civility, and they're always giving those lessons to Sean Hannity, to Rush Limbaugh, Mark Levin, to Ann Coulter, but then Paul Krugman says this kind of thing, and the silence is deafening." (Video below)
The two also discussed leftist talker Mike Malloy asking for Navy SEAL Team Six to shoot George W. Bush, since he's a bigger killer than Osama bin Laden was. That won the Damn Those Conservatives Award. Bozell lamented, "This is the kind of stuff the far left says with abandon on talk radio."
After running a clip of the Media Hero Award about disgraced Rep. Anthony Weiner, Mark Steyn made fun of the winner, ABC's Barbara Walters, for suggesting Weiner should "hang in there" and cracked, "I hope he didn't send her a thank-you Twitpic for that line."

Civility?

What a laugh. The MSM and Democrats (including the democratic voters) are the most HATEFUL group of people in the US period. They are without decent conscious, regard to people and honesty. I have no use for them in any way. unfortunately a majority of the Republicans fall in that same category.

So most of us are hateful? I don't think so!
"Old Soldiers never die, they just fade away"!
Again, starting with a weak premise...

...leads to an empty argument. If Sarah Palin's cross hairs caused the Arizona shooting, then prime time television is causing every murder in the United States.
No, the premise

...is that the media grilled Palin for those remarks but was silent on almost every hateful or violent lib remark. So they are either a) hateful b) hipocrites or c) both. This would include voters who remain silent in the face of this travesty. Most conservative voters recognize this, most libs don't see it, or lie about it.
The foundation of Liberalism is hate and hypocrisy...

...and it manifests itself in weak premises which are quickly extrapolated into massively emotional conclusions designed to drown out reason and logic. At the root of every Liberal lies an agenda.

“How long do you think Sean Hannity’s show would last if four times in one sentence, he made a comment about, say, the President of the United States, and said that he looked like a skinny, ghetto crackhead? Which, by the way, you might want to say that Barack Obama does.”
Nice.
I'm nominating that comment by Brent for the millenium award

The media can name even the most obscure conservative Congressman's transgressions,.. but is still as death when the democrats openly incite violence and hatred. It's almost like they hope something will happen, so they can twist it to fit their narrative again..
There are still morons walking around out there, convinced Palin caused that shooting, they heard it on the NEWS.. so case closed they are not going to listen now that that narrative has been exposed as the slimey propaganda it was. That's how they get away with it, why they refuse to stop, they go for the dimmest bulbs out there, knowing they'll never question it.
The public is starting to wake up to it, but we'll see if the numbers are enough this time,
The MSM has quit being subtle, they're in the tank so openly now, even some of their pundits admit it.
NewsBusters, Bozell, and Fox are apparently bound and determined

A Lyndon Larouch supporter with a racist sign at a Tea Party rally is supposed to represent the entire movement, but none of the many fouled-mouth violence-advocating liberals is supposed to represent Liberalism.

"swarm and attack"? You mean like on a blog, right? Because you couldn't possibly be talking about Union beat-downs, Occupiers pushing old people down steps, or the media method of bashing, en masse, GOP contenders one at a time, could you? BTW, A liberal blog would have to actually print a dissenting voice in order for others to "swarm and attack".

Jer, I think I get where you're coming from on this, I just don't think it's that simple.
There are so many reasons why reasoned debate is so rare in the public square, and I do think the blame rests across the liberal spectrum from Joy Behar all the way across to corrspondents like David Gregory.
There's a cognitive dissonance - almost necessary for statist elites to function - that causes them to sniff out the most (and by and large imaginary) nefarious behavior of the Tea Party yet gives a complete pass to the behavior of the OWS crowd up to and including public defecation.
Pesky...regarding the dearth of reasoned debate,
Submitted by Jer on Fri, 12/23/2011 - 7:12pm.
I think you're right--as far as you go, which, in my opinion, isn't far enough. I believe the blame lies across the entire length/range of the ideological spectrum.
With respect to the disparate treatment of the Tea Party and OWS, your point is well-taken, although I would take minor issue with your description of the media pass given OWS behavior, i.e. "complete". There has been MSM reporting of OWS misbehavior, but, admittedly, not enough.

Dang Jer ain't you run out of folks to throw under the bus yet?
Geez it seems that every freaking time some mealy mouthed POS leftist steps on his d!ck you are just johnny on the spot to proclaim loudly and with apparently self appointed authority, that THIS guy/girl (or mewling hermaphrodite) "doesn't represent nor speak for the mainstream Left." (you like them properly placed quotations there?)
Ya know what, rather than rushing to and fro denouncing one left wing nut case after another why don't you just spell out exactly who it is that truly represents the mainstream left?
Apparently, according to your unquestioned authority as to who does and does not speak for the mainstream left, not a single one of the verbal bomb throwers mentioned on this site qualifies as a bona fide mainstream Lefty.
Yet interestingly enough you, as the grand high pooba of all things mainstream Lefty, have yet, to my knowledge, never stood up proudly and proclaimed 'This guy/gal (or aforementioned mewling hermaphrodite), truly speaks for the mainstream Left'.
So throw us a bone dude. Tell us just exactly who does speak for the mainstream Left?

But here are some pundits/columnists/commentators--center, center left, and left--whom I enjoy, in no particular order: Al Hunt, Michael Kinsley, Fareed Zakaria, David Gergen, Joe Conason, Ezra Klein, Joe Klein, Mort Zuckerman, Tom Friedman, Matt Miller, David Weigel, Dana Milbank, Mark Halperin, Peter Beinart and Jonathan Chait.

I will however peruse the list you have provided and get back at ya with my impressions.
I do however find it interesting that as some one that now claims to NOT know who represents the mainstream Left you seem pretty comfortable proclaiming who doesn't. A bit presumptuous don't you think?
I also find it a bit chuckle worthy that while you now claim to NOT know who represents the mainstream Left you seem awful dang sure of who exactly represents the mainstream Right.
You remind me of so many so called intellectuals that, when pressured to answer a particular question will admit that they don't have the answer, and then go on to say that while they don't know the actual answer, they do know that the other guys answer is wrong.

Yeah, ant..............the whole gang, including whoever we missed - I don't see Newsbubba on there, but it's easy to miss some of the characters here, since there are a few!!! The lovely and elegant miss 911 ninjie-poo is still around, but I think she's going to school full-time, and then working the rest of the time............so she's a little 'vacant'. And even my ol' buddy Jer - who might be the only 'lib' on this website who has enough class, intelligence, and restraint to stay here - because he can engage in conversation and debate without diving into the deep end of emotional and mental mayhem............which is what most of the whacky libs do when they come into the 'viper pit' that is NB.
As I like to say..........we don't even like each other, so why would we suffer some delusional lib??? Hahahahahahaha!!!
JUST JOKING!!!
Don't forget the tall, gorgeous, and classy Wrathful Brunette...............I'm STILL trying to get back on her good side!!! I don't think she's figured out that the Killa is really a nice guy ..............in my heart and soul!!!
Mele Kalikimaka!!! Oh,somebody told me 'Happy Holidays' yesterday............and I asked him 'what is the holiday?'.....and he sort of stammered and stuttered and said.................'Christmas'???................and I told him 'YES..............so why don't you say Merry Christmas, or something like that????'.......................and, you know...........he DID IT!!! Yeah, the list was off the top of my head, but by no means excludes anybody here. Denny Crane, Galvanic, bkeyser, Dr.samhammer, Wrathful, just to name a few...even balboa...we've had our differences, but balboa is never as abrasive or insulting as Clevie-poo aka Anti-bath. I've had some great exchanges here and been educated by the best (even when I won't admit it). Hope you have a great Holiday weekend, killa, and cheers to a New Year of cleaning up after the DC trainwreck that continues to throw our Country off the rails.
If you happen to run into the Wons during their Hawaii sacrificin' tour, say hi for me.
The Most Exalted Wons???

The Most Exalted Wons??? HEY!!! I just made up a joke - right here and right now - and I haven't even had a sip of coffee yet!!!
Do you know Mooooooooooooooochelle's Chinese name???............................WON TON!!!! Hahahahahahahaha!!!
Speaking of which - I saw a photo of Moooooooochie sitting with Santa Claus, and apparantly last night she was in Kailua at some location taking phone calls from children all over the country, asking her where Santa Claus was - because she was helping NORAD track his whereabouts. Now, isn't that just CUTE??? But my big question here is - don't I remember her and Barry specifically saying (when they first were elected) that they DIDN'T celebrate Christmas.............for some kind of PC reason or something like that. Maybe it was an alibi similiar to not wearing an American flag pin or making some snide comment about the flag, or the country, or the people who live here. And I also remember, in the same vein, that they said they DIDN'T buy gifts for Christmas either.
Well, we've got three (or four???) straight Christmas vacations in Hawaii, and a 'I Love Obama' ornament hanging on the White House Christmas tree (it replaces the Mao TseDung ornament), and a helluva lotta time, money, and energy being devoted to a holiday that they claimed to NOT celebrate..............and I'm sure their kids really look forward to these 'Holiday' vacations, and U NO DAT Mooooooooooooochie looks forward to ANY vacation, and she takes a LOT of them!!!
Am I right on this?? Anybody help me???
I'm sure my son has allready felt the effects of the Royal Family/the Most Exalted Wons staying there, since he has to drive by their house if he wants to take our little boy to the beach - or even go over to that side of Kailua.
Ahhhhhhhhhh yes, I am quite happy to be able to interact on NewBusters..........and there are all kinds of interesting people here, and I appreciate knowing them all, and reading all of the various points of view, and learning a lot of things that I would never learn by just paying attention to the MSM...................plus, there's been a lot of laughs, a number of good debates, a few down-and -dirty fights, a big helping of serious intercourse (hahahaha - I fixed my coffee!!!), and I love it when a thread just explodes and turns into an exercise in ludicrous lunacy, as we all become masters of mayhem....................I look forward to the subjects and topics and the interchange that happens with them - it keeps my little peabrain loose and flexible - of course, I had a little headstart back there in the 60's!!!!
So, peace on earth and goodwill towards men (yeah, as IF!!!!) to everybody here, including the bosses who run the joint, but not neccessarily to a few of the angry, ugly, bitter, grim, useless, worthless scabs who have showed up here and had their okoles handed to them.
