Open Thread: Barack Obama's College Roommate Claims Obama Was 'Ardent' 'Marxist-Leninist'
After President Obama's free market "doesn't work" and "has never worked" speech in Kansas last week, well-received by the media as Teddy Roosevelt-esque, Rush Limbaugh described Obama as channeling someone else, with Obama putting to the forefront "in no uncertain terms that he is a socialist, if not a Marxist."
In fact, one of Obama's peers from Occidental College, John Drew, described Obama as an "ardent" "Marxist-Leninist" who "was in 100 percent, total agreement with [his] Marxist professors." Furthermore, Obama called those who didn't agree that a communist revolution in the West was possible "reactionar[ies]."
Do you find the assertion credible that Obama still has communist sympathies? Or do you think Obama has changed his underlying philosophical beliefs in the past three decades? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
According to the New American's Selwyn Duke, who doesn't believe Obama's views have radically shifted since his college days:
...[S]omething else about conversions is that they often breed a person who hates what he has rejected as much as he once loved it. This is why ex-smokers can be the most ardent anti-smoking activists or why Christian converts can be the staunchest critics of secularism. But from Obama we see no visceral contempt for communism. So while “never worked” may describe Obama’s constituents, it can hardly be said about our system.

Sorry to be a little profane in the subject line, but if I got a bit more emphatic, I'd have to censor it.
But the question "Do I think Soetoro still has communist sympathies?" HELL YES He's still got it, and he's been pushing it ever since he usurped the office. And that bit about Ayers saying that 25 million capitalists may have to be killed, the idea that someone would even SUGGEST that is frightening enough, but that this fraud in the WH associated with this guy and he's still walking free as well as the known commies he's placed in as czars, this should scare the holy sh*t out of anyone.
This is one of the reasons why so many of us on here were ardent about not wanting this fraud to be elected because we KNOW and UNDERSTAND how Communists think, not to mention someone with a Muslim background, the two put together is a scary combination.
And that picture of Soetoro above, just from that alone I could tell he's a scumbag of the highest order and he's no different today, other than being frustrated that the Constitution still gets in his way of doing things that he wants.

You've got the right words (and warnings). Keep cranking them out. I have been that scared since the last part of 2007, after I had looked up everything I could find, and watched the deception, distraction, denial, dismissal, etc., knowing the playbook and the players.
Given that knowledge, if we had a Congress totally committed to the protection and improvement of Constitutional government, could this progress unabated for the last 3 years have been confronted and stopped.before it became so embedded?
One other note: It seems to me that so few people really know (or care) what is happening, and I'm sure a good portion of those good people do not know because they have left it up to their elected representatives to protect them?

Is he a Marxist now? I don't think so, but I do believe that he has an unshakeable faith in Big Government, run by progressive intellectual elitists like himself, and combating the evils of greedy capitalism in the name of social justice. That certainly makes him a socialist, but not necessarily a Marxist.
I think he is all too persuaded by the Cornel West types that capitalism and racism are inextricably linked, and therefore a new economic model is in order.
