Rep. Allen West: Conservatives Get Flak From Liberal Media Because They're 'Over the Target'

By NB Staff | December 09, 2011 | 17:31

"You know, we have a saying in the military: You don't receive flak unless you're over the target," retired Army colonel Rep. Allen West (R-Fla.) told NewsBusters publisher Brent Bozell in an interview earlier this week.

"I think that too often on the Republican side of the House" that conservatives have been gun-shy about "taking the flak" from the liberal media for their conservatism. "When you start to water down your message, when you start to say I can maybe get the other side to really like me, then you get yourself in trouble" and the liberal media are "going to hate you anyway," West added. ....is the greatest thing since sliced bread.

We need about 200 more just like him in the Congress.

A President and about 80 Senators, along with the 200 in the House.

To re-elect Obama would be like the Titanic backing up and hitting the iceberg again.

This is exactly what I have

This is exactly what I have been saying. Every time the libs start shrieking, screaming, and whining about something, it is a good sign. Get used to their shrieking, cause if we can beat Obama then they will be shrieking about everything for the next 4 to 8 years.

Unforuntately, that's faint praise these days. I'd much rather see him in the White House.

I'm hoping that West winds up as the Republican

Vice Presidential nominee. That would be a REALLY smart thing to do, but unfortunately Republicans seem to have a knack for shooting themselves in the foot. Like having McCain running for President in 2008.

Unfortunately, he can never be president

Submitted by gopcongress on Fri, 12/09/2011 - 11:47pm.

Colonel West is perhaps our most courageous tea party member in Congress. He would be a shoo-in for president by 2030 if it weren't for the Iraqi incident in 2003.

This man can speak

Submitted by Radical1979 on Sat, 12/10/2011 - 11:10pm.

Unlike the POTUS we have now who can't put three words together without uuuh, uumm, uuuh, West can express himself clearly and concisely. This man has to run at some point.

West is honest

Submitted by David Kramer on Sun, 12/11/2011 - 1:31am.

I do not know if you folks get them, but I am subscribed to West's newsletters. At least once a week, I get an email on every action he has taken. Lately, I have been getting almost a daily email. NO, none of them ask for anything, they are just a list of all his actions, his meetings, everything going on.

HOW frelling cool is that?

Anyway, Colonel West must know that saying my father told me, the most important person in the military is not the General, not the Private on the front line, not the President, but the guy supplying all of them, the Supply Sergeant. You could have the best soldier, the best carpenter, the best whatever, if they do not have the tools, the equipment, the food, the information, they are nothing.

This man knows logistics, that is what I like about him.
