Open Thread: Obama's First 1000 Days

By NB Staff | October 14, 2011 | 09:35

It's past time to clean up this current usurper-in-chief's mess and to begin the long and painful process of reversing the debilitating damage caused by decades of communist/progressive/socialist/dimwitcrats policies - hopefully enough of our fellow sleeping class citizens (read: sheeple) have opened their eyes and we're not too late to save the Republic.

The Earps were just as crooked as the Clantons and the McLaury brothers. They just wore badges. Bill Tillman or Bat Masterson would be better to drain the swamp. By the way one of my hobbies is studying the western period from about the 1850s to the 1990s. The movies and the dime novels made the Earps out to be great heroes. Believe me they were anything but. Virgil was the sherriff of Tombstone, Wyatt was a sometime deputy that ran the faro in the Oriental Saloon. The gunfight at the OK Corral only lasted 30 seconds. It actually occured about 5 doors down from the corral on Fremont Street. Lot of people don't know that Doc Holiday was a dentist from Georgia. His forte was gamlbing not gunfighting.

Submitted by celator on Fri, 10/14/2011 - 10:48am.

Obama won't be the one who decides his re-election campaign,. It will be his many lefty handlers, the radical financial supporters, the leftist agitators who write his script, those who have carrying him on their shoulders all his life, the secretive backroom boys who will decide whether he has advanced the Revolution far enough. Obama has always been a puppet of the radical left. They decide whether he runs again or not. He is not, and never has been, his own man.

Check it out: Soetoro talked about F&F long before Holder "knew" about it

That we are going to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. With all this infighting about Romney, about Cain's 999, about all the freaking purity tests. SICK OF IT!

But that's part of the primary process. But once we pick our nominee, WE NEED TO PUT ALL THAT CRAP ON THE SHELF AND BACK HIM to the hilt.

people are telling me that Romney will be bad, but I tell them that Obama will destroy the country if given 4 more years.

TOW OBAMA

Submitted by ricklail on Fri, 10/14/2011 - 12:05pm.

Obama is supposed to visit the Tar Heel state next week. One stop maybe in Hickory. Does he not know that the area around Hickory is the most conservative in the state? Hickory area has one of the highest unemployment rates in the state. This area was hard hit by the loss of the furniture and textile industry. i just don't believe there will be a warm welcome there.

The state GOP has offered to tow Obama's bus back to DC at not cost to him

For all the warnings that he would be this bad prior to his election, the electorate proved that it wants the more energetic, forceful candidate.

Bland doesn't work (witness Clinton versus Bush I and Dole). The republicans need to learn that lesson enough to avoid putting up another snooze job like McCain - so don't nominate Romney!

Newt is the one who appears to be the most self-assured, unafraid and knowlegeable, therefore very forceful and convincing.

It's time to remove the Kenyan Muslim commie bastard.

Anyone who doesn’t believe our country is in danger as is our freedom, need only listen to the words of liberals such as Obama, Soros, Van Jones, Trumka and others like them. They are the criminal element that now run this country and we can no longer stand by and allow this to go on. We need to take control now or plan on living as prisoners in our own country.

I saw this quote posted at Boortz today by William Beotcker. It seems appropriate.

You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong.
You cannot help small men by tearing down big men.
You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich.
You cannot lift the wage earner by pulling down the wage payer.
You cannot keep out of trouble by spending more than your income.
You cannot further the brotherhood of man by inciting class hatreds.
You cannot establish security on borrowed money.
You cannot build character and courage by taking away a man's initiative and independence.
You cannot help men permanently by doing for them what they could and should do for themselves.

Obama has pretty much been as

Submitted by Rusty Shackleford on Fri, 10/14/2011 - 3:47pm.

Obama has pretty much been as bad as I feared, thought there have been a few things I didn't expect.

  • I expected an economic rebound in 2009.  With the economy having a lot to do with perception as well as reality, I thought the media's non-stop hosannas of our dear ruler would cause an artificial bubble of optimism that would mask negative economic policies.  I was wrong as reality defeated the most absurd media coverage imaginable.

  • I thought he's surrender in the Middle East ASAP and leave us vulnerable to attack.  While internationally he does embarrass us with his constant insults of our allies and our own nation, he's at least kept up the fight.  Hell, he's even a bit of a warmonger as he's started his own conflicts: Lybia & Uganda.  I believe that he fears a terrorist attack would derail his own assault on the US and doesn't want to allow that to happen.

  • I thought he would be more aggressive on gun ownership, but he basically left that alone and even allowed us to take our guns into national parks (thank you dear ruler!), but then this whole Fast and Furious thing came about which showed that he was actually crafting an elaborate scam to frame the Second Amendment for Mexican violence.

Aside from that, I did have some hope in pre-Tea Party early 2009 that he wouldn't be as bad as I feared.  I hoped he would become a little more pragmatic like Clinton and let the agenda slide a bit, but this guy governed, I mean rules, exactly like I feared.  I knew it was some irrational hope, but at the time what else could I do?

"I applaud (Cain's) idea of having radically lower rates," Norquist said in an interview with Reuters Insider. "However, he creates three different taxes. Every one could rise in the future. That's my concern."

Norquist is completely disingenuous and knows better.    "CREATES" three different taxes?

Personal Income Tax...Corporate Income Tax...National Sales Tax

Two of those already exist and he knows it.  I'm tired of the crap.

Santorum did the same thing in the debate, asking the audience "who wants a 9% national sale tax?"  OF COURSE no one raise their hand.  I wouldn't either on that question.  The question can only be "who wants the package?"

Eric Cantor came to my workplace about 3 years ago.  Amongst an audience of about 200, I asked him his take on the Fair Tax.  Of course, his answer was useless and showed he wasn't a supporter, only saying "it would create a 23% national sales tax," and of course I heard mumbles of discontent in the room.  Completely disingenous to say only that and not mention anything else.
