MRC-TV: Bozell Discusses Media's 'Scorched-earth' Tactics on Bachmann, GOP -- July 1 'Fox & Friends'

By NB Staff | July 01, 2011 | 15:30

A  A

"From now until Election Day 2012 it's going to be scorched earth against any Republican who gets in the way of Barack Obama," NewsBusters publisher Brent Bozell told Fox News's Molly Line on the July 1 "Fox & Friends."

This past week found Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) the target of the liberal media's attacks in part because she just formally announced her 2012 presidential candidacy but more importantly because "She's a conservative woman and that goes against the narrative of the enlightened liberal."

[see the video embedded below the page break]

"Look at the coverage of Hillary Clinton," for comparison, the Media Research Center founder noted, or how the media treated liberal African-American Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall with the savage attacks the media have gotten away with on conservative Justice Clarence Thomas.

Bozell also slammed MSNBC's Chris Matthews for smearing Michele Bachmann as being pro-slavery because she is a constitutional originalist. "That the kind of low-brow MSNBC kind of coverage you get now which is just not worth our time, frankly," he argued.

That Michelle's miscarrage was actually an abortion, would the MSM back off or would their heads explode?

Not at the MSM attacking Bachmann (while continuing their assault on Palin and her daughter), but why some conservatives do not retaliate ? The lib/dem targets are easy to whack, using their own words, gaffes and deeds. Oh, I forgot. The MSM will not have such conservative spokespeople on...except maybe to put them opposite 3 liberals or to pound them with allegations thinly disguised as questions...then interrupt any answer with another allegation or bogus "fact."

Michelle Bachmann poses more of a threat than Palin..she not only has received a J.D. degree but LL.M. degree in tax law from the William & Mary School of Law...William and Mary, a southern Ivy League quality school. She also was an attorney working for the Internal Revenue Service added to her terms in Minnesota Senate and UN House of Representatives. Of course, MSM will never tell you any of this as they daily attack her...fie on you Chris Wallace for asking her if she is a flake; whose water were you carrying?

The Republicans can win with Perry/Bachmann...who will tell the truth, fearlessy pound Obama/Reid/Pelosi by telling the same truth about where the USA is and who got us here and who will keep us in the morass/ abyss? both?..and espouse real principles of conservative (aka realistic) folk not la-la land or Weinerville

Good heaven's

Are you seriously trying to elevate Michele Bachmann while minimizing Governor Palin? How foolish.

Rep. Bachmann is from my state, I've donated to her previous campaigns, and I personally admire her and her family. But let's not chase this down the rabbit hole.

Governor Palin can command more media attention with a single tweet or posting on her Facebook account, even while not being a candidate. She has the media chasing the back tires of her tour bus up the east coast. She has media savvy the declared candidates can only dream about.

Governor Palin has demonstrated an ability to turn a floundering McCain campaign around with the mere introductory speech and subsequent nomination acceptance speech. A campaign that only failed when McCain decided to return to Washington and play senator.

Sarah Palin will enter the fray once the herd of declared and undeclared candidates is thinned to a manageable few. I'm not convinced Michele will make it that far. After all, you can only introduce yourself and your background so many times before it becomes stale.

Primary Obama

Submitted by HardRightTurn on Fri, 07/01/2011 - 11:11pm.

We are fast approaching the tipping point for the Democrats to run candidates against Obama in the primary election. They have no other choice if they want to have any chance to retain the presidency.

I will cross over party lines to vote for a conservative Democrat in the primary election. Someone like Manchin or Shuler. All I have to do in my state is change my party affiliation to Independent and ask for a Democrat ballot at the polls. Just like the left nominated McCain.

It is surprising that Hillary Rodham-Clinton still has her wagon hitched up to Obama's slow moving mules. I would have figured by now she would have jumped the sinking ship in order to preserve her appeal to moderate and conservative Democrats in order to make a 2016 run. I think Dick Morris once predicted that if the economy is still bad at the time of the election season, she would make her own run at 2012, similar to Teddy Kennedy in 1980 against Jimmy Carter.
