Open Thread: 'Progressive' Protesters Call for Lynching of Black Man
But it's okay, because he's a conservative. Or something. That's right, when asked what we should do with Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas after he's impeached, attendees of last weekend's far-left "decloak the Kochs" protest rally had some, er, wild ideas. Those included "string him up," "hang him," and "put him back in the fields."

Of course if this had been a Tea Party rally, you wouldn't need to come to NewsBusters to see the video, since it would be running on a loop on every nightly news broadcast. But that said, is it fair to call the entire "progressive movement" racist because of these few loons? Of course not. Still, it does give you quite a taste of the left's ungodly hatred for black conservatives.

I actually asked a question about this on a progressive site, 'cause the racism was so obvious. Their reply was that when Jews acted as guards in the concentration camps in Germany, those Jews were justly shot as traitors.
So, in the minds of progressives, to hold an opinion contrary to theirs constitutes treason, and earns the penalty that treason rightfully earns; blacks who disagree with progressives deserve to be lynched, women who disagree with progressives deserve to be raped and subjugated, and so forth.
Makes sense to me. Aren't you as eager as I am to have these obviously morally superior thinkers thinking for all of us?

On a personal note, a few years ago my niece was in pre-school, the teacher told her mother that she needs to be put on medication because she " sings songs too much and isn't serious enough." Can you believe that? A 4 year old is guilty for singing? My sis removed her daughter from the school.

BTW, I was a bit not-surprised to find out why Texas was having a bunch of those rolling blackouts before actually having to buy power from Mexico....
This was told to me by a friend, but I'm not sure how to confirm this, so maybe other Texans might know? I heard that prior to 2008 election, Texas had 13 power plants that were approved and because of the Obeyme administration, only one or two of those got made.
Can anyone else confirm this? If true, just one more way this possob hurt people.

Has anyone other than me seen a wind farm? I"ve seen two of them (blogged both)....one in Chiapas, the southernmost (and poorest) state in Mexico, and the other in Nicaragua. Both, of course, funded by us.
The one in Mexico was not fully functional, at least half of the windmills weren't working, pointed off in every which direction.
Cajun has posted some excellent links to the effects of Obama's policies in the Gulf region.
He has got to be run out of office. His incredible arrogance and stupidity is going to bankrupt us all, Palin had it right, Drill Baby Drill!

wind farms

I've seen a few on a couple of road trips. I've the big 150 foot tall ones with the 75 feet long blades on down to the smaller windmill styles that aren't that tall. They make a TON of noise and don't produce much. The big ones I've seen up in Arizona, Utah, Montana, even California, many of them wouldn't be turning or had blades missing or just a poor state of repair.
The wind farms are absolutely worthless, they cost more than they produce and break down easily. Not to mention they are eyesores. I hate those things.

One of the problems that doesn't get discussed very much is what do you do when the wind doesn't blow? Some things actually need continous power, like hospitals and schools or iron lungs. Do you build a secondary power plant to take over? You have to. How much money do you allocate for it? How efficient do you make it? More efficient costs more money and then you have that capacity sitting there unused. How much cost is tied up in maintaining an unoperated power plant? You know, little thing like that.

Wind farms get built when government subsidies make them economically viable. As soon as the subsidy dries up, the owner declares bankruptcy and the wind farm rots in the sun. Same with solar power plants; these are stupid technologies.
Wind power earns a subsidy by the power rating of the turbine, but the turbine's power rating is only meaningful with the turbine turning 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Naturally, the wind does not blow all the time, or sometimes it blows too strongly for the turbine to be operated safely, so even after the turbine has been fully constructed it operates, on the average, less than 20% of the time. But the subsidy keeps rolling in, even when the turbine stands silent and still. Your tax dollars at work.
