The Republican "elites" are mad that Steele didn't win more seats!

Idiots.  Greedy, power hungry idiots.  They still don't get it.

Steele had the good sense to accept and promote the Tea Party candidates, and twigged to the fact, unlike the Republican Old Guard, that the Tea Party IS The future of the Republican Party.

The incoming Chair of the RNC will be no more successful than Steele was, unless he/she can pry the gripping fingers of the Old Guard off the levers of power.

I've been thinking about this for a while, and may just change my tag...and I hope whoever is in at the RNC (and the RINO commentariat) takes it to heart.

Hmmm.  When I bought my gun, I had a federal background check performed.  The only thing TX cared about was if my address on my DL was up-to-date.  If anything in the federal background check came back indicating that I should not own a gun (dream on), they could have said no.

When I got my CHL, I had to submit affidavits to TX DPS attesting to my mental stability, my nonexistent criminal record (no felonies and certain misdemeanors), and I got an extensive background check.

It seems you already got your wish.  Yet you and your Leftist ilk still agitate.

And he seemed to enjoy being on TV a little too much.

What we need running the RNC is George S. Patton, Jr. I hope we didn't just get Charles De Gaulle.

This is a very critical time for our nation and it's near-term (if not immediate) survival. The republicans are the only people who can possibly turn this nation around before it goes over the cliff.

We cannot afford to blow this. We must hold their feet, as well as there asses, to the fire.

Steele was too afraid of upsetting the liberals

Submitted by c5then on Fri, 01/14/2011 - 10:34pm.

He wanted to win, but he didn't want to make the liberals mad at him. He was warry of the Tea Parties at first because they were new and the established republican "leaders" didn't like the upstarts.

In all the interviews he had on the various networks, including Fox, he never actually challenged the premis or the underlying basis of his liberal opponents be they fellow guests or the interviewer themselves. He never really put out there what it meant to be a conservative and a republican, just that he disagreed with the democrats.

I have no idea who the new guy is, but I hope that he is able to articulate what it is to be a conservative and WHY conservatives disagree with liberals, not just that they do. I also hope that he makes the RINOs feel very uncomfortable and unwelcome.

~WOW

Submitted by Wrathful Brunette on Sat, 01/15/2011 - 12:33am.

Okay, maybe people have been talking about this and I haven't seen it, but I just had to come by and post it.

The “Together We Thrive” T-shirts that starred at Wednesday’s Arizona `Memorial’ originated from Organizing for America (here), a sad fact unearthed by The Drumbeat of Liberty and the Preservation of Freedom editor and Canada Free Press (CFP) columnist Robert Rohlfing.

In the controversy of the pep rally/rock concert style Memorial for those who lost their lives in Saturday’s Arizona tragedy, the mainstream media reported that the “Together We Thrive: Tucson & America” T-shirt given to mourners as they entered McKale Center was the idea of University of Arizona brass, not the Obama administration.

Yet the “Together We Thrive” slogan dates back to a post to Obama’s own Organizing for America in a Feb. 11, 2008 post by self-described “globalist” John Berry IV.

More than passing strange that the Obama campaign message of civility was the same on Feb. 11, 2008 as it was in his Wednesday Memorial speech, and the same one, too carried by the mainstream media in coverage of the Memorial.

“For too long Americans have been set one against the other.  It is a side affect of a free market society,” Berry IV posted.

Very Sad Day for Fans of the Neal Boortz Show

Submitted by Dave. on Sat, 01/15/2011 - 8:10pm.

This was my blog entry I posted a little while ago:

Royal Marshall Dead at 43

Royal Marshall, the producer of the Neal Boortz Radio Show, passed away suddenly in his home early this morning. For Royal's family, Neal, Belinda, all of us Boortz fans, and the City of Atlanta, this is a God-awful loss, as Royal was one of the highly talented people who made Neal's show truly great.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Neal, Belinda, the wife and two young daughters Royal left behind, and to all of those who worked with him, knew him, and loved him.

I had the pleasure of meeting Royal at the book signing for Neal's Fair Tax book at the Barnes and Noble on Barrett Parkway a few years back, where I had a brief conversation with him. He came across to me as a super nice guy and cheerfully signed my copy of Neal's book. I have never heard anything even remotely negative said about the guy.

Please pray for Royal's wife and daughters, the rest of his family, friends, coworkers, and all who knew him.

After listening to Royal and Neal's frequent back and forths over the last 15 years, and hearing Royal often get the best of Neal, I almost feel like I lost a family member today.

God speed, Royal.

You can read more about Royal, including a brief note from Neal, at this link.

BEG,

Submitted by Dave. on Sat, 01/15/2011 - 10:04pm.

Royal was a truly funny man with a very sharp wit.

His translation of Boo Got Shot will go down in history as a true radio classic, and one of the funniest things I have ever heard in my life.

And I used to love it when he would get the best of Neal, which he often did. I remember one time, Neal got so hot that Royal started playing Ebony and Ivory, and everybody just cracked up.

Neal came on live from Florida during a tribute show they were doing today, and though I have heard him get choked up a couple of times when he was talking about his dad, I have never heard him break down like he did today.

I know that Neal will make damn sure Royal's wife and children will be well taken care of, as he and Royal were tighter than most brothers I know.

That show just won't quite be the same, as they will never, ever find anyone to fill his shoes.

Damn this is sad.

the fix was in WAY before the game even started.  The media and the pathetic Joe Buck and Troy Fakeman plus the pregame already had dialed up the ending with the Packers.  No different than NBC, ABC, CBS, MSNBC....these dbags HAD to have the sorry Packers in the c'ship game no matter.  The rooting for the Packers from the two announcers was just what I expected.  The Falcons didn't have a chance from the get go...

Congratulations to your Mets, Shy--136 million dollar payroll, but they did manage to edge out the Washington Nationals for next to last place.  Only cost about 2 mil for every win.  In the meantime, the Braves just go ahead and print playoff tickets every April.

Teams don't play to make it to the playoffs. They play to win championships.

My teams (not all the NY teams, as we have 2 in every sport, basically):

- Jets (1)

- Mets (2)

- Knicks (2)

- Rangers (2... or maybe 3 or 4... but that goes way back :p)

Jer's teams:

- Braves (1)

:)

BUT.... yours is more recent than any of mine!! :p ('95 to '94... and I only really lived to see 2, as the Knicks and Jets go too far back...)
