Jake Delhomme has been upset since Thursduy night when Jay Culter passed him for the lead in interseptions for the season. Look for Jake to regain the lead today against the Falcons. Stewart is out so he is going to have to throw the ball. Falcons 42 Panthers 10. The game is in Charlotte. Does anybody know if the Falcons bus to Charlotte or fly? It is only a four hour drive there from Atlanta. They would spend that much time in the airport.
The only games that jump out are the Colts-Patriots and Bengals-Steelers. I don't think Dallas-Green Bay will be worth the watch. Cowboys are hot, Packers are not.
Anyway the Heels play Valpirso on Fox Sports South at 4. ECU plays Tulsa tonight but don't look for high ratings going up against the Colts-Pats.
It is a good thing the college b-ball kicks off in earnest tomorrow night. There will be an alternative to the Broncos-Browns.
Only 2 more weeks left in the college regular season. I don't see anybody that can knock off Bama, Florida, or Texas. I thought Auburn might have a chance against Bama but after what the Dawgs did to them I don't feel so good about it now.
Congrats to Pitt. You may have just helped ND make the decsion to give Weiss his walking papers. Sure has shut Lou Holtz up thank goodness.

game of the week: patriots @ colts on sunday night
game for the weak: so many but since only 1 game on monday night, ravens/browns is awful for national audience.
upset special: gave out titans last 2 weeks. this week going with 6-2 team doesn't sound like much of an upset special but when that 6-2 team is the bengals on the road against the steelers it is. BENGALS 20-16.
These days, every play is a mini-chess-match between a quarterback and a defensive coordinator. On one field, not only do we have two of the three best decision-makers (Drew Brees this year being the third), but we have two of the best defensive coordinators as well. For all intents and purposes, Belichik is the Patriots' defense coordinator, and he's likely the best.
For me, Dallas Clark of the Colts is the key. Most defensive coordinators want to take away Peyton Manning's deep receivers, especially Reggie Wayne. That means that the Colts' "underneath" game, throwing shorter passes, has to get first downs. This year, Dallas Clark has been getting first downs. If the Patriots clamp down on Dallas Clark, and limit Reggie Wayne to only a couple deep catches, Patriots win.
I just hope is shapes up as the game of the week. I hate when a great match up turns out to be a snoozer. The Saints will see New England in 2 weeks in the Dome. I'll watch this and send my scouting report to Payton :)
I couldn't believe that Frank, Terry, Howie and Jimmy picked the Panthers. At first I assumed it was the Pitt Panthers. Evidently they have not been watching the Panthers I have had to endure this season. They are crappy. Last time they play Tony Gonzales had a career day. Thomas Davis the Panthers' best LB is out. At some point, the Saints have got to start playing better. They let the Rams hang around until the LAST play. The Saints had several opportunities to put them away, but they just didn't couldn't get it done. It looked like all of them had the flu, from the coaches on down. It was a terrible game. Only thing the Saints took away from that is the W. They stunk up the place.
Ironically, this was probably Reggie Bush's best game. Show's he's out of sync with the team :)

The Bengal/Steelers game was hard to watch if you were a Bengals fan. The announcers were ridiculously pro-Steelers. They kept talking about all the difficulties teams had playing the Steelers. Had the Bengals not already beat the Steelers once this year already maybe that would be appropriate but my gosh. Every other sentence started, "well, against the Steelers you have to worry about..." It wasn't until mid third quarter they even acted like the game was contested. Steelers got Obama coverage.
This was so evident during the San Fransisco 49'ers dynasty. It would take half the game of an upset before the the announcers would start worming their way over to the underdog's side, pretending they picked up on it early.
A good argument would be that media bias started in sports writing.
I watched it, and agree. Penalties all went Steelers way as well, though thet didn't ultimately effect the outcome. At least Nance and Simms aren't as bad as some on CBS- try being a Ravens fan...
If the Patriots can win, there will be but one undefeated team in the NFL. That will be as odd as the white Christmas in New Orleans and deep south, instead of the more likely Great Lakes region in 2004!
Im not a big Belichick fan. I know he's good, he just seems arrogant as all get out. Only reason I pulling for them is if they win they leave the Saints as the only undefeated team in the league .
Just kidding, I think I know where you're sincerely coming from...anyway...all company just left, I'm going to settle in a chair for a bit, relax and really watch the game...(I've been keeping an eye on it)

Very simple. Just exit off of the Tom Brady Freeway, and then make a right on No Heisman Avenue. Then drive a mile or so until you reach I Am Florida's B$#!h Drive and hang a left. Can't miss it.
Charles Woodson deserved the Heisman that year.
"CONSUMED DEMOCRACY RETURNS A SOCIALIST REGIME" - Slayer, "Fictional Reality", from Divine Intervention (1994)
Kick/Punt returns, Recieve, Running back, and the best D back in College. Plus they won the NC.
As the 1997 Heisman Trophy recipient, Woodson became the first
primarily defensive player to win the award given yearly to college
football's top player. Woodson was a force to be reckoned with on both
sides of the ball, making amazingly acrobatic interceptions and
spectacular receptions. He started his second game as a true freshman
and played 34 straight 23 games before entering the pro's draft after
his junior year. Woodson second in the nation in interceptions and
voted the MVP of the Wolverines' national championship squad.
A Fremont, Ohio, native, Woodson was recognized as the 1997 Walter
Camp Player of the Year, Chevrolet Defensive Player of the Year twice,
Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year twice, the Bronko Nagurski
National Defensive Player of the Year, and the Jim Thorpe Award winner
as the top defensive back in the nation. He was a two-time All-American
and a unanimous consensus All-American selection in 1997. Woodson was a
first-round 1998 NFL Draft pick of the Oakland Raiders (fourth overall
selection).
Note the words regarding Woodson: "first primarily defensive player to win the award"
In other words, a defensive back does not win the Heisman--unless he is a once-in-a-century talent and there is not a quarterback or running back even remotely worthy of the award. Quarterbacks and running backs win the Heisman, and Peyton Manning was such an outstanding talent, gifted athlete, team leader, scholastic achiever, incredibly hard worker, as well as the quarterback with the most wins in the history of the game, that if the Heisman trophy hadn't already existed, it should have been invented especially for him.
That this magnificent performer and future #1 NFL pick was bypassed for a junior defensive back--admittedly a very good defensive back--is one of the all time travesties in sports.
And every Heisman voter who cast a ballot for Woodson or the pathetic Ryan Leaf should hang their heads in shame.
Well, I didn't have a dog in the hunt either way. I was watching the ECU-Tulsa game, but flipped over to watch the Colts try to come back once I saw they closed within a touchdown. Frankly, I'm ok with the Colts winning, but man, that was a terrible terrible call. They ought to make him fly coach back home.
Yeah, as a life-long Falcon's fan, I have seen some pretty major brain-farts on the part of more than a few coaches, but that decision to go for it on 4th down was the cake winner by far.
All of the criticism of Belichick right now that I am hearing elsewhere and seeing here to me is quite amusing.
See, if that decision worked...well, we'd all be praising his genius endlessly.
He made a gamble and lost. Such is the way in sports. Besides, Indy better enjoy it, because if they do not fix their running game, and soon, they are doomed, at some point.
