"Last night was a triumph for the conservative movement and repudiation to those who said Republicans had to move away from the conservative ideology to achieve victory," Media Research Center President and NewsBusters Publisher Brent Bozell declared today.
"I hereby grant the Dewey Defeats Truman Awards for the most incompetent political reporting of the year to the following journalists for their impeccably inept coverage," Bozell noted in a press release earlier today before listing Politico's Mike Allen, CBS's Katie Couric, National Journal's Ron Brownstein, and the entire New York Times editorial board as the recipients of the (dis)honor.
"Congratulations for embarrassing yourselves, your news organizations and the industry for a backfire that only President Truman himself could truly appreciate," proclaimed Bozell.

What an awesome name!
November 4, 2009 - 12:55 ET by UnsaneMr. Bozell, as one with an obsessive devotion to history, I must praise this award and your starting this up. It is....touching.
I wonder how many people will NOT get the meaning of the name?

Sad to say, probably more do NOT 'get the meaning of the name'
November 4, 2009 - 13:06 ET by Cape Conservativebut it surely FITS today's so-called journalism to a T! Thanks, Brent! Your uncle is smiling down on you for keeping REAL CONSERVATISM alive and well!

November 4, 2009 - 13:12 ET by Thinking.ManThey will just harp on NY 23.
They will Ignore that Newt and the RINO-Leaders spent tons of money and time on a loser candidate, that Hoffman was only active for 30 days prior to the election, and the DuhDuh Scumface was the spoiler.
With the current crop of Presstitutes facts just get in the way, I suspect Hoffman will come back and trounce the leftist after we see a bit more from the Obama-Anti-Recovery engine.
Let's see how quickly Dede returns that $900,000 that the RNC

I wonder if she has the intestinal fortitude to go ahead and change her party affiliation! Michael Steele need not wonder why he receives no $$ from this household!
This is a good victory
November 4, 2009 - 13:24 ET by Thinking.ManObama might want to go out and get a good supply of depends and pepto because I think this is just beginng of a long and hard fight that we will win and the more he gins up economic numbers etc. the worse it's going to get for him and his cronies. T
The fiasco of NY23 though proves that RINO's like Newt are the countries worst enemy now, he is in essence RINO-Rose as far as I am concerned.
"Come on Conservatives, you no see that you are fighting a useless battle, come over to big tent, we have many pleasures waiting for you, why fight losing battle..."
That guy makes me sick to my stomach, they need to out the RINO leaders in the local districtis that did this too and either read them the riot act or give them their marching papers.
RINO's should be a last resort, not a default option, happy, and pissed off at the same time.
You are right TM...

November 4, 2009 - 20:56 ET by Sergeant ROCKThe fact that Hoffman did so well as a 'conservative' is this district is astounding. RINOs had better take notice. You cannot continue to hide behind the 'R'.

These fringe media outlets are an embarrassment.
Congrats
November 4, 2009 - 14:05 ET by acumento the recipients. But in the spirit of championing individual self-esteem, to those of you that make up the rest of the establishment media, you equally embarrased yourselves as well and always remember even though your audience has dwindled you will always have big Government on your side as long as you continue to deliver the message of Big Government.
And the spin continues all through today
November 4, 2009 - 14:06 ET by c5thenApparently Hoffman's loss in NY is a "crushing defeat" for Sarah Palin (even though all she did is endorse him from a distance), while Corzine's defeat in NJ (where dems outnumber repubs by 2:1) is not a big deal for Obama (even though Obama himself campaigned with Corzine on 5 seperate occasions).
The hypocrisy is so think you can cut it with a knife today.

Isn't the base just what the word means? The foundation, the fundamental support of the party?
Can you imagine Brownstein, or anyone else, suggesting that the Democrat party abandon its BASE?????

What should really scare them is that with 60 members in the senate and 248? members in the house they can not pass Obamacare. Keep hammering on us conservatives. We can take it.
