For general discussion and debate. Possible talking point: Gov. Pawlenty at WCPAC on how the GOP can market its message.

Republicans need a candidate who can dispell the 'Democrat: friend of the worker' myth.

The only message I have seen from the GOP is...

...only RINOs need apply.

The party has apparently learned nothing from two straight defeats, and it appears they aren't going to figure it out between now and next November, either

-Dave

Our elected representatives have failed us.

Right of RINO?

Dave, you think Pawlenty is right enough to win?

Pawlenty talks a good

Pawlenty talks a good game.  He came out to our Tea Party and talked like a Republican...yet, he increased spending on public schools, and didn't do a damned thing for those of us who keep our kids out of them; he put taxpayer money into a light-rail boondoggle and a baseball stadium for a billionaire owner and millionaire players.  He is pretty close to what the Democrats were about 30 years ago.  The Dems hate him, but that's only because he has an (R) next to his name, and he's pro-life (although he hasn't proposed any pro-life legislation that I'm aware of).

He's a little better than McCain, and he really is a decent guy, but I wouldn't choose him as the nominee.

Damn, fooled again

Thanks for the clarification, Matt.

Wow!

I apprecaite your insight....he had me fooled too. So even though he talks like a conservative, his actions show him to just be another RINO.....Are there ANY Conservatives in elected office?

"Maybe if we keep our heads buried in the sand, this will blow over" - The Congressional Republicans

At this point, a politician

At this point, a politician that literally did nothing would be more conservative than the Republicans.  I'm sorry but it's Libertarian or bust for me.  I tired of hearing of new unConstitutional ways of spending my money.

Fellow Minnesotan here,

Fellow Minnesotan here, people around here, if they like him, say, "he did not raise taxes!"  and I always reply, "He did not raise taxes on things he thinks are good, but on the other LEGAL items that he thinks is unhealthy, he RAISED TAXES"  Typical RHINO liberal.  If I think it is OK, then I will support it, but if I do not, then it does not matter if it is legal or not, I will do all I can to destroy that industry and raise funds from them because I don't think their business is a good business.

FYI I am a non-smoker, I hate being around people who are smoking, but smoking is a legal activity and just because Pawlenty may think it is a "sin" does not give him a right to tax it at a higher rate than all other legal things like pots and pans.

Oh, and Pawlenty supported McCain, that speaks for itself.

PA C, I am seeing polls placing two RINOs ahead of Palin

...Huck and Romney.

I realize we are still far from the 2012 elections, but I am not liking what I am seeing.

The party leadership seems to be adrift in a sea of mediocrity less than 13 months from an election that I believe is more critical to the future of America than the one in 2012.

Unless there is enough turnover in congress to stop Obama cold, what happens in 2012 will be utterly irrelevant.

The Republican party needs to either get off the couch, as in right now, or get the hell out of the way.

to run or not to run

Do you think Palin's in that position because she hasn't made any official announcement of running?

I kinda see her as a female Reagan, maybe she'll surprise us.  God knows we need a leader like her.

-Jon

Jon,

That may have something to do with it.

I guess I was just hoping for an across-the-board rejection of RINOs after McLame got clobbered last November.

Wishful thinking on my part, I guess.

-Dave

Our elected representatives have failed us.

Dream Ticket

Jon,

I have said it before, my ticket would be Sarah Palin/Condoleezza Rice with Liz Cheney as Sec State and Michelle Bachmann as Speaker of the House. Four strong, conservative women steering the country away from the abyss the Obama administration has us headed towards.

The Obama Administration: THE most fiscally irresponsible Administration EVER

Watch for the outcome

Watch for the outcome of the NY 23rd Congressional district special election.  If Sarah’s strong support of Conservative Doug Hoffman (as against Republican Scozzafava) succeeds, it could mean the beginning of a whole new ball game.

And I agree. I believe that God does know we need a leader like her.

- Relying upon the State Run Media for your information is like relying upon an embezzler for your portfolio management.

- I didn't leave the Republican Party; the Republican Party left me.

Sounds REALLY good...

The Governor, in a very articulate, calm, rational, way lays out the strategy that we will need to beat the Socialists trying to destroy our country.  We don't need soaring rhetoric, we need someone like Mr. Pawlenty who can calmly explain why the Dimocrats are wrong on just about every issue.  Well done.

"'Democrat: friend of the

"'Democrat: friend of the worker' myth"

The fact is, a democrat can borrow a truckload of money now, without a darn for the consequences, and give "the worker" pretty much whatever they want.

But it IS all going to fall to crap if they do that. If we're dealing with immediate gratification, the dems own that market. We can't compete on that message. They'll borrow us into oblivion. They'll screw America totally up, then that's it, game over, thanks for playing "America".

That's our message. You can't compete on their ground. That's why we have to dump the RINO McCain message, because we CANNOT win with that message. You can't out-democrat a democrat. Sure it's a large tent. But if you're pushing democrat policies, get in their darn tent.

Friend to the worker

Democrats ARE a friend to the worker.

In fact, they're so friendly to the worker that they cause American businesses to leave the country in droves.  Republicans must tackle the difficult task of getting Americans to understand that "business friendly" = "job friendly".  Republicans have always been pro-business and it keeps us all employed.

Democrats (and liberals in general) have been attacking businesses and corporations for years and present day unemployment is the result.  It's going to get much worse if cap & trade passes.

"getting Americans to

"getting Americans to understand"

got control of education? got media? got de-contaminated labor unions?

Get ready for a government takeover of healthcare...

great stuff - where's the rest?

Video stopped about 3:30 into it.....where is the rest?

He speaks great things. It is a difficult task (friend of the worker), but the first thing that needs to be done is clean out the Demo-lites at the top of the Repub party. America doesn't want (or need) and Democrat and Demo-lite two party system. They need a Democrat and Republican two party system. The RNC needs to embrace the conservatives or they will lose us forever.....Many of us have had enough and are ready to dump the party in favor of a new, third party for Conservatives.

"Maybe if we keep our heads buried in the sand, this will blow over" - The Congressional Republicans

don't be fooled

Pawlenty shows up at CPAC and gives a good speech? It's nice and everything, but it's not action.

Newt Gingrich is endorsing Dede Scozzafava and Schwarzenegger is helping Obama push healthcare.

Florida GOP chairman:

"Lord, save me from the purists," says Jim Greer, the state's Republican Party chairman and a Crist supporter. "If the party keeps going in this direction, all we'll have left will be three people sitting around a table. They'll be absolutely pure, but none of them will be holding office."

Until I see Pawlenty standing up to these people, his words are empty.

Medicare for everyone!

House Democrats are looking at re-branding the government health insurance option as Medicare. Because if you don't call it a government takeover of healthcare, our government-educated dumbmasses will be too ignorant to know the difference!

Pawlenty is absolutely correct, but it is a very hard job to convince people when they have this attitude and this one.

that's not whom we need to convince

First we have to get rid of this attitude.

Pawlenty?

Who can save us from Romney, Huckabee, and God forbid, McCain again? Lindsay Graham is sure to run again too. Pawlenty is not perfect but right now my hopes are on him. Is there a better likely primary candidate out there?

If only Dick Cheney was twenty years younger.

slick, if the republicans are stoopid enough to run McClame...

...again in 2012, and I am including those idiot "republican" voters in Iowa and New Hampshire (God why don't they change the idiotic primary system?), as well as the idiot poll responders all across America who followed the SCM's lead and gave us McClame in the first place, I am not only going to vote for whoever the libertarians run as a candidate, but will actively participate in their campaign.

And I don't care if it turns out to be Howard Stern, either.

-Dave

Our elected representatives have failed us.

So easily fooled.

So easily fooled.  Pawlenty is another RHINO.  He is just talking now, but he has done crap for Minnesota.

What we need...

We need a true Conservative that stands for the principles of conservatism, but isnt willing to dismiss other conservatives that dont subscribe to his flavor. The Demoncrats aren't doing that right now. Even though Obama is becoming the world's most dedicated socialist/marxist/communist, he will still stand with the rest of his party. We need some unification, with a defined party message that resonates with the American people. They have to understand the dangers of having an unchecked government in place. Even with a Republican controlled Congress and a Republican in the White House, there was still a very liberal media ready to watch anything and everything going on. Now we have the opposite with a very liberal media willing to cover up for this administration.

I dont know much about Gov. Pawlenty but i sure hope, for Conservatism's sake (Republican party second), that he can bring us together. We tried the Center/Right moderate in John McCain and people didnt want it. It'd be nice if this country could stand united behind a Center/Right person but people are just too polarized at this time. People need to be reminded that patriotism and loving your country is something great, and not something you need to hide or be ashamed of. I refuse to pander to any other country and apologize for who i am. Why would anybody else (even a liberal), want to give power over themselves to a foreign body? It makes you look weak and gives them a sense of power over you, even if only in their minds. Maybe someone can answer that for me.

I guess i need to brush up on Pawlenty's politics. Sorry for the long winded diatribe, been a while since i posted and I had a few things to day.

Clark

You have to consider, this is basically a campaign speech at CPAC, so this is as conservative as you will ever hear him sound.

My fear is that next year the GOP will get away from centrist politicians and simply go center-right, where they can make a show of listening to our concerns while still endoring a party loyalist.

I can hear it now: he's better than McCain! What more do you want from us? If he loses then it's just proof that people on the right are unelectable!

Pawlenty is no McCain, but he's no Reagan either and he will fold to GOP leadership.

lookie what I just found

According to WaPo both John Boehner and Eric Cantor sent funds to Dede Scozzafava.

Think about that the next time you see them on TV blabbing about conservative principles.

~I'm disappointed in Boehner

But it's what I would have expected from Cantor.

Our elected representatives have failed us.

Handicapping the conservativeness of Soczzafava

Here's an interesting article about handicapping the conservative scores of various candidates over different states. The premise is, depending upon state, Republicans and Democrats tend to be more liberal is some states and more conservative in others. Think of having an honest to God middle of the road representative. Depending upon state, he would be considered more or less conservative.

So in short, if you're waiting for a Mississippi type Republican to win in New York, you're spinning your wheels. A lot of Democrats in Mississippi are more conservative than Republicans are in New York.

It makes sense. You don't judge the slow time of a horse run on a muddy track, against the time of a horse run on a fast track. Ignoring the political bend of a state is folly. Perhaps Cantor and Boehner realize this?

so nwahs

Am I to understand from this that's okay for ultra-conservatives in southern states to watch their donations get sunk into helping a moderate Republican in NY, and it's okay for their representatives to stall on questions about why that happened?

Not if you think your ultra

Not if you think your ultra conservatives have a better chance at swaying Democrats than swaying moderate Republicans. You can put up a Mississippi Republican in New York and you know who will have the seat? A Democrat.

I got it, nwahs

It's okay for people like Cantor, Boehner and Pawlenty to give fire-and-brimstone speeches that inspire ultra conservatives to get involved and donate money, just so they spend the donations on RINOs under the cover of darkness and then not even be man enough to admit it.

Once again, you shine the light of how "real conservatives" should think.

I didn't tell you how to think

I'm not trying to tell you how to think. I'm offering another point of view.

n-wwwaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhssssssssssssssssssssssss

You are filled with glee, no doubt, about the prospect of the United States being run by one of two Leftist parties.  Now, if only you can get those noxious conservatives to SHUT UP.  Right?

"CONSUMED DEMOCRACY RETURNS A SOCIALIST REGIME" - Slayer, "Fictional Reality", from Divine Intervention (1994)

No, by all means be vocal

In a way, I wish the "noxious conservatives" would become even more vocal. The reason I say that is I see it becoming clear there will never be a coalition between moderate Republicans and conservatives.

The hope I see is a coalition between blue dog Democrats (fiscal conservative Democrats) and moderate Republicans. At this point, because of "noxious conservatives," its more likely that moderate Republicans will leave the party to join blue dog Democrats than it is that blue dogs would leave to join Republicans, much more likely.  More vocal "noxious conservatives" will only hasten that.

The hope that this country won't fall into a European socialist model lies with blue dog Democrats - not conservatives. At this point, conservatives are irrelevant, paralyzed in nostalgia, and waiting for Reagan to come again. Objectively, conservatives have no power in government.

Before you say "wait for 2010 and 2012! " I think you will find people shift more to fiscally conservative candidates. I think they will do that through blue dog Democrats and not 90's style "family values" Republicans.

Here's an interesting article on what Jeb Bush thinks about the future of the GOP. I think he's right as to what message and tone the GOP needs to adopt, but I don't see it happening. I think the scenario I describe is much more likely.

The aching continues

Really? You think the hope of this country lies with "blue dog Democrats"?

You know very little about politics (except that you are embarrassed, ashamed, and sickened that conservatives are still very much out there, or that Reagan was ever President), apparently. You fail to notice that the "nlue dog" Democrats are STILL Democrats and STILL are in hock to the Dems for political support and patronage. As such, they will toe the party line; if not now, then at some point.

Keep aching for an American ruled by TWO Leftist parties...

"CONSUMED DEMOCRACY RETURNS A SOCIALIST REGIME" - Slayer, "Fictional Reality", from Divine Intervention (1994)

***boiling mad***

So I just called Eric Cantor's office to ask if it was true that he funded Scozzofava's campaign. I was told that his staff is busy doing big important legislative things and they did not want to discuss "political" details. They then advised me to call the GOP hotline if I had any more questions about campaign donations.

This is not the first time Cantor's office gave me the runaround.

And he is the Republican whip.

I am fast losing hope these people will get their act together in 2010.

The GOP first needs to get a message.

For years now they have basically been the "We're not the Democrats" party, but many of their candidates are almost indistinguishable from the democrats.

We need candidates who will champion the Constitution above anything else. We need candidates who have read and understand the document and acknowledge that it is the supreme law of the land that can not be violated.

         What we

What we need is Sara Palin. Someone with morals. The rest are all corrupt. Why not give her a chance. Anything would be better than what we have now. An organizer that can't organize is not the answer. Palin & Bachman, maybe. Or Bachman & Palin. Can't be any worse than obama & Biden.

Can't see it Jessie

Palin's message is damn near perfect.  Palin, the messenger, is a real problem.  I have ZERO confidence she could win the Presidency.  If everyone is honest with themselves, they will realize she has no chance to win a national election.  I definitely would not mind being wrong, but I just don't see it with her.  Too many strikes against her before she even officially announces that she is running.  Now, Bachman, I'd be interested in learning more about.  Based on the scant exposure I've had to her, I'm intrigued.

PAC

That whenever any form of government becomes destructive to these ends,it is the right of the people to alter or to abolish it, and toinstitute new government...

Re Palin

Agreed. I like Palin and agree she is the kind of real conservative we need, but I don't see her even making it through a bruising Republican primary for President. It's pretty clear that the Republican nominee will be the next President, so this will not be a weak primary like 1996 when we saw the usual suspects and got the guy that was next in line.

Palin's role most useful to the movement is as a kingmaker. She should take hold of the TEA movement and push conservative candidates into the races for the House and Senate and campaign for them. Call that a third party if you wish, or taking back the Republican Party, that's two means to the same end. In the process she will learn and grow and perhaps be ready for a Presidential role by 2020 when she will be 56 years old.

PA, I like Sarah Palin,

PA,

I like Sarah Palin, but I don't want to invest all the conservative GOP future in her. I suspect that, for many, Palin is kind of like Obama was for the Democrats - a new politician that gets imbued with all the hopes and aspirations for the perfect candidate of the future.

The "Mainstream" Media: By liberals. For liberals.

Chris, There is a HUGE

Chris,

There is a HUGE difference between Sarah Palin and the LOTUS.  Sarah Palin has actually DONE something.  She did more as Gov of Alaska than BHO had done in his entire life.  The only thing he is able to do is talk out of his buttocks.

The Obama Administration: THE most fiscally irresponsible Administration EVER

Scuba, That's why I was

Scuba,

That's why I was careful to write "kind of" like Obama was for the Democrats. Yes, she has administrative experience, however, I'm not ready to bet the farm on her candidacy. There's just so much time and so many possibilities out there. It seems like every time some person gives a good speech or even gets off a good line, they become a favorite potential candidate for a lot of people. While I like Palin personally and her conservative social policy positions are impeccable - but so are Huckabee's, for that matter. I'm not certain that she shares all conservative economic positions. And remember, she was comfortable running with McCain. All I'm saying is that there seems to be a fervor for Palin that, at least to me, she doesn't necessarily warrant.

The "Mainstream" Media: By liberals. For liberals.

LOTUS at it again

Anybody else hear an implied "or else" in this? I mean, he already has the libtards goose-stepping in rank and file behind him. The "great uniter" wants to unite all Americans - just not in the way most people thought he meant. He wants all our collective necks in the guillotine, with him holding the release cord.

Every day, LOTUS incites more people to anger and eventual violence. Tell me again how this petty criminal turned dictator is "healing the country"? How does he think we'll react when the '10 congressional elections are stolen by fraudulent recounts, unqualified voters, and non-existant voters? Not well, I'm afraid.

OBAMA = One Big Ass Mistake, America!

update on Cantor

Just got off the phone with the GOP. Here is a loose transcript of the conversation:

GOP: Thank you for calling the Republican national committee.

ME: I have a question about Mr. Eric Cantor. I live in his district in Richmond. I just read in the Washington Post that he sent a campaign donation to Dede Scozzofava, and I'm trying to comfirm if it's true.

GOP: I have no way of knowing that - you'd have to call his personal staff.

ME: Well sir I did call his office and they said they don't like to talk about political campaigns. I was told to call you.

GOP: Not sure why they told you that. I really wouldn't know.

ME: But the Washington Post was able to report it somehow. I'm trying to get confirmation.

GOP: If it appeared in the Post then it's probably true.

ME: No other avenue for me to find out?

GOP: Not that I know of. Is that all you need?

ME: Yeah sure, thanks anyway.

Cx2

At this stage, they might as well just give you the ol' "Don't call us, we'll call you."

The list of enemies within seems endless, with the way they are tirelessly trying to weaken my country:

Bands want to know if their music was used on Gitmo detainees

Naturally, the bands listed are the usual brain dead suspects.

Hey seniors! Ready for Terri Schaivo healthcare? Perfected in the UK. Exported the US. To die for.

Jack

"The nearest these guys get to "grassroots" is smoking weed."

Haha! That's great! :) And yes, so true.

Top musicians? PLEASE!

R.E.M.?  Pearl Jam?  "Top musicians?"  Give me an f-ing break!  Those guys haven't done jack since the mid-1990s!  The last Pearl Jam album I bought was Vitalogy and when I was done with that album after about three plays I determined that they were done.  Yeah, they came out with albums after that, but none were near as good as the first two.  In fact, I'd say if you just blow the bucks on a copy of Ten, you are set.

R.E.M. was never all that, IMHO, and they haven't done virtually anything in the last 12-15 years.  Okay, so I thought "What's The Frequency, Kenneth?" was hilarious, just because of the song title.  But again, that was 1994.

These clowns are still trying to sound relevant.  It's sad, really.  I might chuckle if they weren't so actively trying to undermine national security.

"CONSUMED DEMOCRACY RETURNS A SOCIALIST REGIME" - Slayer, "Fictional Reality", from Divine Intervention (1994)

Why Reagan won

Reagan Democrats voted Republican, not because Reagan changed his principles to attract them, but because Reagan showed them how conservatism advanced their own principles.

Among a number of interest groups, the Democrats have successfully created a fiction that big government does the most for them. But Reagan showed that big government is a myth; it really doesn't help the interest groups, and it actually hurts them.

These "moderate" and "compassionate" Republicans keep losing these days because their behavior undermines Reagan's main selling point: big government doesn't help anyone. When these GOP dolts get into office and offer big government, they have nothing to counter the Democrat myth.

Re Afghanistan

Canadian General speaks the sad truth:

NATO a Corpse, Fumes Former Canadian Military Boss: http://www.weaselzippers.net

"The splits inside NATO over the Afghan war have turned the alliance into a rotting corpse that will be virtually impossible to revive, says the former head of Canada's armed forces. General Rick Hillier also said the 28-member alliance was "dominated by jealousies and small, vicious political battles" and bemoaned its "lack of cohesion, clarity and professionalism" at the start of the Afghan mission."

whoops

Upon further reflection, I'll believe the republicans...

...are going to "fix" this insanity when I see them up there impeaching Obama's communist (yes, I said communist) ass, and voting to repeal and/or reverse every single thing he has done.

Until that happens, the Republican Party is as dead to me as a bucket of rocks.

-Dave

Our elected representatives have failed us.

I think I am going to have to stop listening to Rush's show

Good Gawd, he thinks we are closer to the abyss than even I do.

How distressingly depressing.  :-(

-Dave

Our elected representatives have failed us.

We're one piece of

We're one piece of legislation from falling into they abyss; if either crap&tax or health deform pass, you'll be able to look up at the cliff we're falling off.

It might already be too late to salvage the country in recognizable form - congress has already granted the Fed $23,700,000,000,000 in loan guarantees, they want to up the national debt ceiling to $13,000,000,000,000, and there's $1,000,000,000,000+ budget deficits for as many years as the eye can see. Factor in the looming commercial real estate "crisis" and derivatives "crisis" that the taxpayers will be on the hook for (thanks to the Federal Reserve Act), we're already there IMO.

Big question is, how do we claw our way back out?

OBAMA = One Big Ass Mistake, America!

Here's one way

First, go back to the first portion of the post:

congress has already granted the Fed $23,700,000,000,000 in loan guarantees, they want to up the national debt ceiling to $13,000,000,000,000, and there's $1,000,000,000,000+ budget deficits for as many years as the eye can see.

Now look at the very first word of the sentence.  THERE is your problem.  We need to clean out that cesspool on the Hill.

"CONSUMED DEMOCRACY RETURNS A SOCIALIST REGIME" - Slayer, "Fictional Reality", from Divine Intervention (1994)

KJ,

I have long believed that what is going to finally do us in will not be an economic collapse so much as it will be a disintegration of our monetary system.

I think that one morning soon, Americans are going to wake up and discover that all that fiat money they have tucked away isn't worth the paper it is printed on.

Boortz covered the looming financial meltdown this morning, and described it a huge asteroid hurtling toward America.

I cannot think of a better description than that.

I think we have finally managed to spend ourselves into oblivion.

-Dave

Our elected representatives have failed us.

Look long and hard

I don't think you are going to find much more than "fiat money" these days, anywhere on earth.  I can't name a single country that ties its currency to a commodity.

"CONSUMED DEMOCRACY RETURNS A SOCIALIST REGIME" - Slayer, "Fictional Reality", from Divine Intervention (1994)

And our financial

And our financial collapse/disintegration/implosion will have world-wide effects. I'm not normally the gloom 'n doom type, but I think Gerald Celente at Trends Research has a good eye for what's in store for us in the next few years. Smart money will be looking to retain its value through different instruments in the coming years.

Edit: IIRC, the Euro is 10% backed by silver. I'd have to double-check that - it's been awhile since I read that (and could be mistaken as well).

OBAMA = One Big Ass Mistake, America!

so what now?

If that's the case, what happens next?  Or what happens later?

One thing I see very possibly is anarchy and chaos, and it'll happen in the big cities like New York, Chicago, LA, some others that have large populations, especially if they are run with liberal policies.  Put simply, won't all Hell break loose?

How did Germany do it when they were a fascist country before Hitler died? (I know some of you might say "oh no, another Hitler reference" but bear with me here)  After all, Hitler did many things similar to what this African Kenyan is doing.   Granted, at this point, he won't be able to put together a civilian force by now comparable to what Hitler did, so it seems at this point damaging this country as much as possible is the rule here.  After all, unemployment continues to rise, our currency is being ripped to shreds, and we have out-of-control government spending.   Germany had to be rebuilt.

That's what I see happening in this country.Only difference is, are there any other democratic republics in the world that will help us?  There are democracies, sure, but it's not the same thing.  I don't know of any country that has a Constitution like we do.

What will happen to the US in the end?  Do we get invaded?  Do we get attacked?(two different things, believe me) Do we get help?

Honestly, I don't know what else to think at this point.  I want to be wrong on this.

Don't be so sure that he

Don't be so sure that he can't pull together a "national civilian force"  for an "emergency" in short order:

Explorer Scouts train in Post-9/11 Law Enforcement Methods

DHS and GSA Announce New Preparedness Patch

Corporation for National and Community Service

Add those to any other number of "community organizations" filled with the dregs of society, and you have a "national civilian force" that will be "just as well funded" as the U.S. Army. Then add the kids taking college loans that will be required to serve the government for up to ten years (if Rahm has his way) to pay for college, and any other unprincipled types that are out of work and need to feed their families (or are just on personal power trips) - there could be a semi-trained force of up to 5 million people in less than a year's time.

OBAMA = One Big Ass Mistake, America!

Re disintegration

Re "a disintegration of our monetary system", at times I wonder if that is what the Bamster really wants. His first priority is wealth redistribution, and tragically he will accept making us all poor if that is the best that he can do as opposed to moving us toward a median. After all, if we are all poor, we are all equal and the gap between rich and poor that the liberals anguish over, disappears. Remember when he suggested capital gains taxes should be higher, and it was pointed out that it might mean a descrease in revenue, he said he didn't care, because higher capital gains taxes were in his mind, "fair".

Re runaway inflation, that's one of the best ways for radical socialists to redistribute the nation's wealth. During hyperinflation, people with money suffer the most. We all end up dependent on government, and government becomes all-powerful.

It's sickening that I am at the point of thinking about a President in this way, but I don't think I am alone. I believe the Bamster's soul is as dark as a lunar night, and he hates America with a passion.

slick, It's obvious Obama is deconstructing America...

...but I am not yet sure exactly what his motivation is, although the theory I am currently formulating is centering more and more around revenge, and I am detecting a racial element to it, as well.

The left has long wanted to bring this nation low, but their motivation has always been power and control. I mean, so what if the proletariat is living in poverty? They couldn't care less.

Yet, I sense something a little more sinister than just mere power and control when it comes to Obama himself.

My sense is that, deep down, he deeply resents and possibly even despises this country, and just about everybody in it, and has surrounded himself with like-minded people.

Obama is systematically, and very rapidly, deconstructing every traditional institution that built this nation and made it what it is today, and it is being done in such a way that, at some point, it is going to be virtually impossible to reverse.

Dick Grayson Identifies America's Enemies

Posted by Gregory of Yardale at 1:50 PM | Comments (0)

Florida Congressman Alan "Dick" Grayson has become a heart-throb of the progressive left by essentially accusing Republicans of health care genocide. Grayson was on MSDNC with far-left blowhard Ed Schultz and he identified America's enemies; and he didn't name Al Qaeda, the Taliban, or Iranians with nukes.

"Fox News and their Republican collaborators are the enemy of America," Grayson told MSNBC's Ed Schultz on Wednesday. "They're the enemy of anybody who cares about health care in this country, the enemy of anybody who cares about educating their children, the enemy of anybody who wants energy independence or anything good for this country. And certainly the enemy of peace, there's no doubt about that. They are the enemy."

I'm willing to bet a steak dinner no one in the MSM is going to label this "divisive rhetoric." Nothing a Democrat says is ever labeled as "divisive rhetoric." But the really cool thing is, because he repeats what the Progressive Left wants to hear, none of them recognize what a loose cannon this guy is. No one is going to tell this deranged attention whore to dial it back. Which means sooner or later, probably sooner, he is going to say something so bizarre, so beyond the pale that only the left-wing fever swamps of the Democratic Underground and Air Amerika will be able to stomach it.

I say, keep egging him on. Give him all the rope he needs.

Judge okay's lawsuit against Big Oil by Katrina "victims."

And guess what the plaintiffs are going to be suing for - Global Warming they allege the oil companies caused which resulted in the forming of Katrina.

Wanna further guess who will be paying the legal fees for the oil companies? We will, at the pump.

Still think loser pays is a bad idea?

Excuse the crude

Somehow deep down inside my sense is we are being played like a fiddle or being manipulated (distracted) like a magician does.

All the stink about the White House vs Fox is taking us away from what the Dems are doing in the areas of Healthcare and Cap & Trade.  No question that the first ammendment is under fire and it needs to be dealt with but after the legislation is passed they'll back off some regarding Rush, Beck, Hannity, Fox.

It is like trying to sneak a fart past a turd.  Both come out in the end.  After the smelly gas dissipates what really causes the stink is left behind.

"Fighters are fun but bombers make policy"

Hannity had a great show tonight

He spent the whole show talking about the health care proposals. He went to Main and Oregon, talked to the folks who helped craft their versions of health care reform. Just realy indepth and fairly bipartisian to boot.

Net Neutrality

I'm surprised that this hasn't been the topic of somebody's post given the nature of the subject. Drudge is headlining the FCC vote today to move forward with rule-making. Personally, I don't understand the intricacies of the subject other than to instinctively know that if this administration wants to implement it, it can't be good. As usual, I tried to illustrate my take on this, based on what little I know of the subject and the great deal that I know about Barry. If someone has a take on this, I'd be interested to read it.

Unbelieveable bias in the media

I have been waiting a few days now and this story has not appeared in a single national media organization. I am talking about the death of a student in the dorm at the CSUS. In addition to one student killing another the police shot the person who did it on campus, but not a peep by the MSM on this.

Just a few articles from the Sacbee on it.

http://www.sacbee.co...

http://www.sacbee.co...

If fact I heard Fox News report about a YouTube threat on a university and we get national news breaks all the time lately if they reporting someone with a gun might be by a campus, so why the complete media black out when a student actually kills another and then police shoot a student?

The only thing I can think of is this student didn't use a gun, but a baseball bat and knife. I guess the media only cares about students and their safety when firearms are involved.

This story and lack of national coverage is just another perfect example of bias in the media.
