"The more these things are made public, the more the American people run like hell from them," Media Research Center President Brent Bozell told the hosts of "Fox & Friends", referring to an analysis from the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office that shows Democratic health care proposals will balloon in costs over their implementation. [audio available here]
Indeed, as the Washington Post reported this morning, the latest polling data from Washington Post/ABC News shows that President Obama's approval rating on the health care issue "has dropped below the 50 percent threshold for the first time."
"Here's something else that isn't being reported. The entire health care debate is predicated on the premise that we're having a crisis," Bozell added, referring to new polling data by Zogby International showing that "84 percent of Americans are satisfied or very satisfied with their present health care." What's more, "46 percent without insurance are satisfied, they don't want it, for whatever reason. So there is no crisis."
In addition to media coverage of the health care debate, the NewsBusters publisher also appeared in a second segment of the July 20 "Fox & Friends" to discuss the labor union card check issue, as well as to announce the MRC's new tongue-in-cheek request for a federal bailout:
Story Continues Below Ad ↓STEVE DOOCY, co-host "Fox & Friends":Brent, card check now dead?! What happened?
BRENT BOZELL, MRC President: It looks like it's dead, simply because again, as we were saying before the break, the more you look at this kind of legislation, the more you see how radical it is.
BOZELL: It would have taken away the individual's right to decide whether or not he wanted to participate in a union. Now, you've got them trying to push in this mandatory federal arbitration. Meaning what? Meaning that when it comes time to negotiate a contract, the unions can take out the emory boards and just do their nails and wait for the federal government to intervene to arbitrate this. And they know that they're going to get a good deal from the federal government, because it's their people in the federal government. So that's the end of America being able to set wages for their own employees. I mean, this is serious stuff that's going on. This is socialism.
BOZELL: And by the way, I have an announcement. A quick announcement, please. The Media Research Center - the Minority Broadcasters of America have officially asked for a bailout, so the Media Research Center has also asked for a bailout today. We're asking the Secretary of Treasury, who's traveling somewhere, to take a minute and look at our request for $1.18 billion, which we think is a good number.

BRENT BOZELL, MRC President: It looks like it's dead, simply because again, as we were saying before the break, the more you look at this kind of legislation, the more you see how radical it is.

July 20, 2009 - 11:58 ET by slickwillie2001Pretty stunning numbers there, and a generally liberal crowd at AOL.
nolo... I just voted on
July 20, 2009 - 13:45 ET by bigtimernolo...
I just voted on all six poll questions.
Very telling of what the percentages are there regarding each question...and it ain't good for O whatsoever.
75% disapprove strongly in four of those,85% on the last one regarding his overall approval rating, and on the 5th question, the one I picked was 56%, although that question was iffy for me, I may have picked the deficit too....
Anyway, thank you for this...I had fun voting and seeing the results.
Made me day so far.

You almost never hear about
July 20, 2009 - 12:00 ET by Chris NormanYou almost never hear about the fact that there are several programs, both state and federal, for people without regular private health insurance to access free or subsidized health care or health insurance. For whatever reason - ignorance, laziness, or just because they don't care - many people just don't sign up. Yeah, just try collecting "fines" from these people if they don't have Obama Cross insurance. We'll be stuck with Castro Care and the "uninsured" will still be uninsured.
The "Mainstream" Media: By liberals. For liberals.
Yeah--pretty slow crisis
July 20, 2009 - 12:01 ET by StarAZEven if these twits get all these crazy things to happen--outlaw HSAs, tax the rich a ton, not allow changing private plans if you have one, cut Medicare even more, cutback on treatments, require treatments, etc....this does not start until 2013--They will be gone and someone else can deal with the fallout.
What doesn't "the one" ...
July 20, 2009 - 12:22 ET by SentryDanWhat doesn't "the one" Obama understand about the word "NO!!!"? "We the People" have said "NO" to: his health care proposal, his card check proposal, his tax increase proposal, and his stimulus package. "We the People" don't want his socialist ideas. The politicians work for us, "We the People". We don't work for them. The politicians, all the way up to Obama, had better start listening to "We the People".
The 2010 elections aren't that far off. "We the People" will start with the senators and representatives who didn't listen and work our way up from there.
Remember folks, Freedom isn't Free. It was bought with the blood and sacrifice of the men and women who are serving and who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces.
For those who fought for it, Freedom has a flavor that the protected will never know.
Also remember folks, that the way to SUPPORT THE TROOPS is to support their mission. Anyone who says that they support the troops but don't support their mission is lying about supporting the troops. And if you want to know, yes I do have a dog in the fight, he is a United States Marine.

July 20, 2009 - 12:47 ET by BeanManIf the government could just pass on a measly million to me that would be a mere .0000000001 percent of the total cost. They'll lose more than that in fraud, waste, and abuse.
