"I will offer NBC a bit of friendly advice: When you find yourself in an embarrassment hole, stop digging," said Media Research Center's Brent Bozell in a statement released today regarding the MSNBC cable network's reported negotiations to hire left-wing radio host Ed Schultz.
Schultz has a long history of obnoxious on-air comments and behavior. Just this past Friday, Schultz called Republican Senator Jon Kyl a "spineless scumbag" for daring to criticize President Obama's joke about how his bowling was so bad it was "like Special Olympics or something." On March 2, he likened a speech given by talk radio host Rush Limbaugh to conservatives at a political conference to Adolf Hitler addressing a Nazi rally.
Last November, he called Sen. Richard Shelby of Alabama "a terrorist on the American worker. He is a terrorist on wage workers" and said ""the progressive talkers, you know, we lefties with microphones, we were never invited to the White House. Never got a chance to even urinate on the yard. You know? None of that."
Mr. Bozell's full statement appears below:
Story Continues Below Ad ↓NBC appears to have found in Ed Schultz another embarrassing Leftist to bring on board the network crazy train that is MSNBC. This is like having your batty family living in the attic, and the last lunatic uncle shows up and you invite him in too.
This is eerily reminiscent of MSNBC’s Michael Savage experiment. Savage is crazy Right, and Schultz is crazy Left; the only thing they have in common is that MSNBC hired them both. Savage’s on-air flame-out caused MSNBC to fire him. Do not be surprised to find MSNBC humiliated yet again
“Do you really want to add Ed Schultz, NBC? The terrible and terribly liberal MSNBC line-up is already incredibly damaging and a nightly embarrassment to your news division. Yet you somehow look at it and say ‘What we need is another angry Leftist to round out our evening programming.’
I will offer NBC a bit of friendly advice: When you find yourself in an embarrassment hole, stop digging.”

A BIG thank you from a conservative household (and MRC supporters)! Yes, conservatives do exist in this bluest of blue states - though we feel like the lonely little petunia in an onion patch ;-)

March 25, 2009 - 18:08 ET by Georgia GirlBig: Love your tagline. But don't get me started on taglines! [See Ruckus, if you want to know about my lack of computer skills...I'm a girl without boxes.^_^]
Ruckus...I found ya! In answer to your question, the "Track" box is to the far right (right above the "Girl" part of my "Georgia Girl" name), just like you said. It's a light-grey box, so I clicked left of that, like a maniac in search of a box! Funny note: my husband misunderstood & thought I was looking for a REAL box and brought me one from our garage. LOL. Anyway, I had my clicking-to-look-for-a-box seizure, but nothing came of it. At least I know there is supposed to be a box or two more there, thanks to you! I guess I am two boxes short. Is that similar to having a screw loose? LOL. But thanks again, for trying.
Well, even if I have no "boxes" to make buddies, I feel like I have lot of nice friends on here, i.e., like somebody who would be so patient with my computer incompetency (CL, too -- wherever that girl is!).
I'll be around!~

I still don't know how to add links to my posts; yet when I was challenged by a certain unmentionable troll on the site to back up what I was saying, lo and behold two NB posters came to my rescue. I don't think the troll has been seen since.

March 25, 2009 - 21:42 ET by Georgia GirlRest assured, no matter how computer clueless you are, I am the worst! Everybody on here is so good at whipping around and handling everything~then I ask them things like: "What is a buddy list?" and then: "OK, where is the buddy list?" Now it's that I can't get my buddy list, PM-thing or anything to come up/do anything. I'm hopeless! (I tell myself this is because I am a magazine writer, and I'm just not used to techie stuff. My excuse anyway) :(
I heard about the troll. CL told me, and she let me read some of the stuff he wrote her (if it is the same troll). He was horrible and scary. He was attacking CL, and with the stuff he said to her, I felt the need to put her in the Witness Protection Program! I hope he stays away, but we'll all handle him together, if he comes back. :)

Here again!
March 26, 2009 - 12:27 ET by Georgia GirlCL,
OK, I left another message for you, so this is actually message #2 (so this doesn't get confusing...listen to me, like this isn't already confusing! LOL!).
I am trying one more thing, with my buddy list. Wish me luck...now I will check back on this page again later tonight sometime, just in case we miss each other again! Anyway, my habit is to check and then I usually wander off and do stuff. Sometimes I log out, but usually I just leave myself where I am, until I move off the site for good. USUALLY, anyway! I have to sit and think about what it is I actually DO.
Anyway, I'm trying to work out this buddy list thing. Now if I get the buddy list fixed, what will that do? Does that solve everything after that???
I'm here!
March 26, 2009 - 12:22 ET by Georgia GirlCL,
I'm here! Now where are you??? I logged in early today, to see if you left a message, but nada! So here I am...where are you? Wait, I see the time on your thing. That is probably when I logged in and then back out...this is simply too funny. Anybody reading these messages will think we are ONE person because we are never in one place at the same time -- you can't make this stuff up!!OK, I will sit here for awhile...and see if you appear. Sometimes I log onto a page and then go off and do stuff & just leave my computer...do you do that, too? Maybe that is the problem.
Anyway, I will just blag on and on for a bit, and maybe when I get done, you will be here. Current status on my "Buddy List" is that I have had 4 people request me as buddies, which was more than ever happened before (in that I GOT a notice), but when I clicked on the thing, nothing happened. So I have no idea if I am automatically a buddy or what! (?)
All right. I am going to read on, to see if you left me other messages.

Okay, good, you are here...and I'm still here, too! I was about to try the right-hand side of my page again...but, I am still on this page. I will not move...I will try the buddy thing, and then see what other messages you leave.
I am laughing my head off, as well!

Back again...did it work?
March 26, 2009 - 12:42 ET by Georgia GirlCL,
OK, I got three people to come up, when I clicked on the righthand thing this time (somehow, only 3 people, not the 4 I got notices on, but hey, it seemed to be working for the first time, on my end -- and my husband even tried that several times for me, and he is an engineer, for heaven's sake!).Anyway, I was asked to "accept" or "reject" buddies...said yes, etc. So can you tell if it worked???
As for PM, my husband thinks he knows why that is not working, and he said he'd keep working that aspect for me, so we're making progress!
Are you still on here? Am I talking to myself?...Hello? Hello? Wow. The NB site managers must be laughing at me.

I am crossing my fingers...but I do know there is one place I have SEEN the Buddylist thing (not on my page) that I tried, and I saw stuff, but it still didn't do stuff! I'm a mess, Lord help me!

ESPN did as much to Rush Limbaugh. What Rush stated about football player McNabb was that the sports press had investing in him when he didn't deserve it, but the defense on the team did. The liberal sports writers and then, several presidential candidates banded together to throw him under the bus.

That's pretty ballsy comparing Rush to Hitler.
Someone on the Free Republic posted a brilliant set of pics during the campaign...one B/W pic of young German girls crying and swooning at the site of Der Fuhrer and a recent of one of young American girls crying and swooning at the site of Dear Leader.
That and the Obamopolis set reminiscent of the centerpiece rally in Triumph of the Will are pretty damn scary comparisons.
Yeah, one was a national socialist and the other's an international socialist, but other than that, two peas in a pod in many ways.
One of the 34% who thinks George W. Bush was a great President. One of the 61% who wants to bring back the stock and pillory (yep...approval for Congress now at 39%...do you believe that!?).

March 25, 2009 - 22:27 ET by The7SticksAre you trying to wreck my mood? At least Big Eddie's not nearly as left-wing as that moron Mike Malloy. If it were that idiot, then I would be worried for the future of MSNBC.
As for the comparison of Rush Limbaugh to Nazis: Michael Medved comparing crowds at Dennis Kucinich rallies to Nazi rallies doesn't invalidate that point? Both liberals and conservatives will always try to slime each other with comparisons to Nazis and Commies no matter what they say. The only thing I can say to that is: Grow a pair.
If I didn't know any better, Big Eddie seems to sound like the liberal equivalent of, I don't know, Bill O'Reilly? It sounds like what O'Reilly might say on his radio show if he were a liberal.
