NewsBusters @ CPAC 2009Washington, D.C. -- The Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) for 2009 is underway and NewsBusters is here to cover it at the lovely Omni Shoreham Hotel on Bloggers Row. We're not sure how much we'll blog per se, but you can also follow us on Twitter @TheMRC and @KenShepherd.

Be sure to set your stopwatch alarm for 3:40 p.m. That will give you a good 5-minute warning for a CPAC panel discussion entitled Targets of the Fairness Doctrine, moderated by MRC/NewsBusters's own Seton Motley. Radio host Roger Hedgecock and former and current MSNBCers Tucker Carlson and Joe Scarborough will comprise the panel.

Evening News

If talk radio is targeted now will the very  biased evening "news" broadcasts of the ABC, CBS and NBC be exempted?

If radio is targeted, why can't Rush Limbaugh rename his show 'The EIB Afternoon News' (with news anchor Rush Limbaugh) and ask critics to demonstrate the difference between his show and NPR/Pacifica? And why can't conservatives sue to extend it to TV news as well??

The Senate is getting ready

The Senate is getting ready to vote on side by side by amendments on the Fairness Doctrine pretty quick...the Durbin anti-free speech amendment and the DeMint anti-Fairness Doctrine Amendment.

DeMint was on fire and called a spade a spade with what all the Durbin amendment covers, and it isn't just radio folks, it is the internet, the blogs and television....if you get a chance, I hope some of you google DeMints name and listen to what he said if he has it posted later...he said this was soviet style tactics, enslavement, communistic on and on....

I listened to Demint and Durbin this morning, I already called my Senators offices as if that is going to do any good as they are both dems...
