For general discussion and debate. Possible talking point: Say Goodbye to America.
No matter who wins Tuesday America is going to be a different country. When the sun rises on November 5, regardless of who the president-elect is, a more un-United States than has existed since the Civil War will wake to dispute the results of the disgusting campaign that has mercifully come to an end.
Whoever the losers, they will believe they were cheated, and will point fingers at those they believe responsible...With this animosity will come a new level of hatred between those of differing political persuasions like nothing our country has experienced in the modern era.
Putting it bluntly, and without sounding too much like Rev. Jeremiah "G-d Damn America" Wright, there will be no such thing as Americans anymore.
Read it all, and share your thoughts.

November 3, 2008 - 02:17 ET by AgentAmericanThe Second American Civil War will begin Tuesday night, and it will not be waged with guns or bombs...it will be a psychological assault ramped up at a higher scale from the mainstream media, should Obama happen to lose. And I agree...who ever wins...we still lose.
Americans who voted against him will be subject to a vile pogrom of heinous proportions. Racist and bigot would be the theme of those who dared vote against Obama. Ultimately this will trigger a backlash that will plunge this country into division never seen since 1865.
If Obama should win...States would eventually consider secession after he begins targeting the Bill of Rights, including the Second Amendment that will eventually escalate the tensions into actual pitched conflict. There are still an overwhelming number that won't be prepared to part with their freedom.
The Union would be very weak...Even if John McCain should win.

November 4, 2008 - 00:36 ET by HillbillyKingQuite the poignant, powerful, poetic and dare I say, prophetic, piece.
However, I disagree with it.
Unfortunately, the hour grows late. Hence, I will elaborate on the nature of that disagreement in the morning when I can elucidate my ideas in an articulate manner.
<Update>
OK, it's the afternoon, not morning, but here's the first part.
Regardless who wins tommorrow I do not believe that the country will become divided in the manner you describe. I only have to think back to the 1960's to see a country that was tremendously polarized into split camps. I feel that the convergence of events in that decade were far greater than what we face now. Given that no civil war erupted then, I feel that it will not happen now.
I believe that the partisan mentality that permeates most of the media, regardless of medium, fails spectacularly to reflect the vast majority of Americans opinions. Therefore, I believe that the animosity that the media purveys will fall upon deaf ears for the most part.
I'll post the final part later this evening.
<Update 2>
I'm optimistic by nature. I believe that the outcome of this election will open Americans eyes to the fact that both parties do a poor job representing our best interests. In doing so, that catalyst will ignite a resurgence in citizen participation in their government. By that, I mean, common citizens will again step forward and demand a better government. One that reminds those elected that they are OUR PUBLIC SERVANTS, we are not theirs.
I'll close with this;
"The dogmas of
the quiet past are inadequate to the stormy present. The occasion is
piled high with difficulty, and we must rise with the occasion. As our
case is new, so we must think anew, and act anew. We must disenthrall
ourselves, and then we shall save our country."
Lincoln's Second Annual Message to Congress, December 1, 1862.
If you make people think they're thinking, they'll love you; But if you really make them think, they'll hate you.

Noel,
November 3, 2008 - 03:08 ET by R D HelmI am not sure, but I think this is one of the most sobering and insightful articles you have ever written. To say it is dead-on would be an understatement of gigantic proportions.
I believe we as a nation have finally arrived at the proverbial fork in the road, as I am not aware of such a gaping divide having ever existed among the people of this country, and that includes during the period of the historically misnamed American Civil War.
I also agree that the outcome on Tuesday matters not in the near to long term. Regardless of who wins, the gulf will surely widen further.
If there is any one thing I can point to that has brought us as a nation to this sad point in our history, it is that just too many Americans have essentially lost their love of freedom.
As simplistic as that sounds, I believe it to be at the root of our current and widening divide.
What is more, I see absolutely no way of correcting it now.

The power of the press. We can see its power quite clearly. It has been so thoroughly and blatantly abused during this election ya couldn't miss it fer nothin'.
They...the press, the media have been allowed to posess great power through the power of the people. The people that created the Constitution, the Bill or Rights.
We cannot and would not want to take this power from them. It's one of the main weapons we have against tyranny.
But when that power, that weapon, is turned against a select few amongst us for the purpose of affecting the outcome of a Presidential election, as has so clearly occured during this one...what the hell do you do?
When the press throws their ethics out the window and decides to campaign openly for a particular candidate, how can you make them do the right thing? They clearly see themselves as righteous defenders of "the One" and will do what they think is right for the country.
Nothng like wrapping yourself in the warm blanket of patriotism as you betray the trust of the people you're supposed to protect.
And I am so sick to death of Obama ads runnin' here in Alaska. All I hear outta his mouthpiece is, Obama will give you $2,500 if you vote for him...McCain will only give you $150.00...

November 3, 2008 - 11:00 ET by bradbenj5952"And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS." Revelations 19:11-16
The Lord needs not a nuclear weapon, he has a Sword! But for those of you in the "God is all love" society, you are without question wrong. God is love (not "all love" as some like to deceptively quote). But as you can read from the above Bible quote, he is also Vengeance and Wrath and KING! Ignore that to your everlasting doom.

agree Dragon - Vote no matter where you live
November 3, 2008 - 15:30 ET by Dee BunkIt is very likely our last chance at unfair elections. We have unfair elections now where illegals, dead people and underage people vote & contribute to political campaigns. If Obama gets in, I doubt any conservative will ever win again. The billionaire socialists who fund Obama will be running this country.
We are not going to see huge drastic changes in his first 4 yrs either, but there will be behind the scenes laws and judicial appointments that will lay the groundwork. Full fledged socialism is probably 12 yrs away if Obama wins.
If no SCOTUS judges die or retire in the before 2010 then it's possible that some states could enact fair voting laws, and maybe we could take back congress. That scenario is still a long shot though. I'm sure even in his first 2 yrs - a lot of money will go to ACORN and other left wing groups that will cause a level of fraud twice that of this election.
Once Obama gets a couple SCOTUS picks in then the table will be set for Liberal rigged voter fraud to go unchecked. Obama's SCOTUS will overturn any fair voting laws.
Vote and make sure everyone you know votes no matter where they live & no matter how Blue their state is.

Too pessimistic (and I'm
November 3, 2008 - 05:23 ET by usinkoreaToo pessimistic (and I'm normally not an optimist).
I think this election cycle will sharpen the political discourse in American society something along the lines of during the Cold War. --- Meaning - I think the conservatives will return to being a full-fledged movement acorss the board/nation - which it hasn't been since the end of the Cold War.
Without a doubt, both sides will feel cheated after the election, but even if McCain wins, I believe having a radical liberal getting this close to the White House - and how the media and dirty tricks helped him almost win -- will motivate a conservative movement --- to reshape the public debate about what it means to be the United States: we'll see an effort to reengage in the media - getting more conservatives into journalism schools and into news rooms - in Hollywood - in college professorships in the humanities - and so on...
In short, I don't think certain significant sectors of the society will be forfeited to the liberals by default any more - just as they weren't in the Cold War era.
If McCain loses, this is even more likely to occur.
A couple of Congressional elections ago, when the Dems lost, Pelosi and other key leaders came out saying that what cost them the election was that they had not fought hard enough and not been liberal enough.
I thought that was nuts - and that they should have followed Clinton's lead in moving to the middle.
Now, Pelosi and crew are on the threshold of getting the power they want --- without moving to the middle.
They might claim that their "going liberal" is what has put them at the threshold of power --- I believe it is due more to their using stealth and the media's helping them keep the agenda under wraps for the most part.
Regardless, if Obama wins and the Dems gain in Congress, they will have the power to attempt to push through their liberal agenda ----- and that will help define the right in the eyes of average Americans.....and for itself.
You could look at this coming opposition as a break down of the system --- something like during the Vietnam era.
But, I don't think it will be that ugly.
I believe it will be more like the Cold War divide in American thinking. Something heated at times but also somewhat constructive - with both sides seeking to define the issues.
usinkorea
November 3, 2008 - 14:33 ET by Mr X"But, I don't think it will be that ugly."
I think you are being overly optimistic. What some here are missing is, IF hO'Bama loses, you will have MILLIONS of blacks who will feel like they have been cheated, and the MSM /DNC will gladly stoke those flames, and the resulting rioting will be extreme.
I CANNOT imagine a more tense time in recent American history.
Make no mistake, this is unlike ANY election ever in this country. It's sad but true, the black/white divide will have grown to unprecedented levels.
Of course I hope I am wrong.
I agree ...
November 3, 2008 - 17:19 ET by GOPG8RI actually think the Obama candidacy has made race relations worse only b/c they keep using RACE and RACISM to combat anything you say or ask about him. Time and time again we are being told by the media that we are racist if we aren't supporting Obama. Because it must be the color of his skin rather than his policies, stances on issues, voting record!!!
Should Obama lose ... and the media has spent so much air time, photos, magazine covers, articles, etc. touting him as the CLEAR winner ... how will Obama supporters react? Everything they have read and heard said Obama had it in the bag and suddenly McCain wins? I think that would be shocking to a lot of people.
Yes, it is my hope that McCain wins but wow ... I do fear the reaction of Obama supporters should that happen. We have already seen their insane anger and rage against Palin and that's with her on the ballot, not in office. Then again, if Obama wins, I think a lot of people would expect everything to turn around right away and we all know that won't happen.
Another reason why I think
November 3, 2008 - 05:43 ET by usinkoreaAnother reason why I think this is too negative:
American society isn't as deeply divided as the politics is showing right now.
American society is still largely centrist. Pelosi and crew, now led by Obama, have not fully exposed their very liberal agenda. It has shown more the last couple of months than usual, but they and the media have kept it somewhat under wraps -- because they know it would not sell well to the masses.
I think the Joe the Plumber incident proves this.
This election, regardless of who wins, will bring more people into focusing on issues. They will pay more attention.
And being centrists as a mass --- they will pull the two parties to the center. ---- At minimum, they won't let the two pull the nation apart.
In short, this election has exposed a wide political divide - but that divide is not mirrored in the society as a whole.
Win or lose, I think 8 years from now, we will have witnessed two things:
1. The rebirth of the conservative movement as a mass movement seeking to define America's place in the world and for its own citizens.
2. A civil war within the Democrat party with the centrists eventually winning out.
If Obama and the Dems win, the movement toward these two points will be stronger. In power, they will not be able to hide their agenda (even if they try), and it will fail, as it has in so many other Western liberal democracies, and the American people will witness it and react accordingly.
If Obama loses, it will take longer for #1 to show strong results, but dodged bullet will be scary enough to energize the movement and bring in normally less active participants.
But, also, an Obama loss might speed up #2.

. . . .ending the racism that has been one of our nation's banes since its inception.

November 3, 2008 - 07:43 ET by misterbill"Racism is NOT an American condition, it is part of the human condition and is evident all over the world, not just in our nation. Please don't fall into the trap that only white Americans are racist."
I am tired of reading and hearing that people who want the right choice for America are racist if that choice is not the socialistic, black, Democratic candidate.I am also finding strong feelings of anger in me that I have never felt before. By accusing me of racism in any of my decisions, they attempt to deprive me of my freedom to live as a free citizen of the United States of America. They intimidate through name calling. That does not work with me, it only angers me.
I believe Noel to be correct, The issue is--how severe will the reaction be??- in either case? How much damage to the American psyche will occur. If blacks and self loathing liberals continue to relive the hate of wrongs that were righted over 100 years ago-- at the expense of countless lives of white people - how long will it take for the losers of tomorrow's election to accept the results and move forward? How many will forge their plowshares into weapons of killing?? How many will die between late Tuesday night and late Wednesday?? While our great young men and women are overseas fighting for the freedom of Iraqis, how many will see their freedom being destroyed here??
I am not a man of violence, but I will defend myself and my family. I will ensure that they are home with me on Tuesday evening. I trust and hope that my local police will all be on overtime ready to protect us.
the "white guilt" factor
November 3, 2008 - 08:21 ET by mom_roxIf Obama is elected, he will be the first AA president (not African American, but Affirmative Action). I truly believe that 'white guilt' is motivating some of his supporters.
I'm not going to label these two comments from Obama as racist, but I do find them troubling because of his habit of categorizing people:
So much for the "judged not by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character" HOPE of Dr. King. By nature, I am a optimist, so whatever happens on Tuesday, I will still be a happy, loving, thankful-to-be-alive person on Wednesday.

Most of middle America
November 3, 2008 - 06:05 ET by MidAmericaMost of middle America democrats think they are voting for a black FDR. These are not hard core lefties in any way. In fact, most don't even know the difference between left and right ideologies which is why they are vulnerable to media manipulation. The silver lining
November 3, 2008 - 06:26 ET by Kuso JijiIf Acorn Obama manages to hoodwink the electorate, it effectively ends the Clinton era, cankles and all.
Sure there is always the possibility Acorn takes one for the team and Hillary ascends to the presidency using the VP route but for now, thats just wishful thinking.
Two years of Democrat rule is certainly enough to restore the nation back to its senses and if every hardworking American who is sick of the government sticking their grubby paws into their pockets reduced their consumer and taxpayer footprints; work less, spend less, buy foreign, boycott Hollywood, the mainstream media and leftist universities and invest overseas, Obama and co would have to depend on the very people who vote for him to start contributing.
That "my friends" is the way to counterbalance the upsurdity of this years election.
But the real problem we
November 3, 2008 - 06:21 ET by MidAmericaBut the real problem we have is that this election was an assault on our basic rights as a democracy, the right to a fair election. It is not the democrats or obama's millions that got him this far. It was a coodinated effort by the Legacy Media using it's power to promote one candidate. I would not ask one unfair critisism of Governer Palin be removed but the near total coverup of important facts about obama is a national disgrace. I instructed my wife on how to watch news manipulation and now she too yells at the TV and has quit the paper. We have watched in amazement when a negative subject about obama surfaces and the first to defend him and to deflect critisism was not obama or his campaign but the media itself. So NB and other New Media must slowly soldier on and chip away at the credibility that the Old Media has squandered away.

But don't forget, it's a lose-lose for white America.

If we do elect Obama, that certainly doesn't mean that racism is dead in America!
It's a lose-lose for
November 3, 2008 - 07:42 ET by MidAmericaIt's a lose-lose for black Americans too. They have been mis-led and used by the democrats, the media and their own 'leaders' for too long and now they have been led down a dead end with a flaming socialist as the representative of their race.

November 3, 2008 - 09:57 ET by JoelCTWith all due respect to a fellow Texan, that's not a prediction, that is a wild guess based on what the MSM have been feeding you.
I, and others like me, have been crunching the numbers for weeks, watching trends and studying patterns.
Since it is the day before the election, I'll go ahead with my prediction. Check the bottom of this thread for it in about 5 minutes.
I really want to believe
November 3, 2008 - 21:44 ET by tonyflo04I really want to believe that, but it feel like a beating of epic proportions is in the works. I will still vote for McCain in West St. Louis County, for W. Todd Akin (voted no on the Buyout/Bailout), for Rep Hulshof for Gov, for Prop A & M. I just feel that a 320+ EV total for the Messiah is possible and maybe likely, but I will pray to the allmighty for the vote to go in our direction.

November 3, 2008 - 06:55 ET by maggieqpublicNice work, Noel…. read every word. Win or lose, this conservative is angry, bitter, outraged. My finger is pointed at the MSM.
And then if McCain pulls this out, my relief may be short-lived. Wouldn’t it be just like him to sign amnesty legislation? After all, we’ve gotta reach across the aisle.
Mr. Shepherd, that was a helluva piece........
November 3, 2008 - 07:20 ET by sentforth5What can we say that has not been said? This has been the heaviest election cycle ever endured by the American citizen. Never have we seen so much evil represented, and never have we witnessed so many Americans willing to embrace deception. Destruction upon destruction has been laid out for people's consumption, and for the average thinking person it is difficult to understand why so many people would be willing to uphold an individual promising to undermine our Constitution and destroy the American way....that is...until we remember that we are a CHRISTIAN nation, and then it all makes sense.
It's strangely funny that we have no problem identifying Christ Jesus, but rarely will anyone identify satan. lucifer.that old serpent. the devil....pull a coin out of your pocket and what does it say?? IN GOD WE TRUST. Well, satan the deceiver does not appreciate that. This is a war that has been going on since it was identified in the book of Genesis ch. 3 v15. That's a long-running war and it is now being fought between our own shores.
Oh, I could fill this up with scripture upon scripture, but I'll just say that GOD watches and He waits to see what His children will do collectively and individually. That's what this whole age is about.
satan hates Christ Jesus; hates God; hates the RIGHT way, and i can affirm to all of you that if you love Christ Jesus, well, satan HATES YOU.
Be firm...be of good cheer and remember that God is still in charge. Stay true to His tenets and continue to do things in His name and calm down...if you love Him, He most certainly loves you and He promises that you'll be fine.
obama may lose Tuesday, but satan will just raise up another of his children to attempt to overthrow anything that belongs to Christ. It won't end until Christ Jesus HIMSELF puts an end to it, and to satan.
Relax and vote the RIGHT way and count yourself happy that you- little tiny YOU are an envoy for the Lord. No matter what happens Tuesday I can tell you very matter-of-factly that if you are a child of the Lord God YHVH and a friend of Our Savior Christ Jesus, you never have a reason to fear anything. Again, I say, no matter what happens Tuesday...WE WIN!
May the Merciful God and Father of our souls bless you and keep each and every one of you.

Kudos Noel.
November 3, 2008 - 10:17 ET by CrashOn raising taxes immediately: "What will be the catalyst for this decision? The exploding budget deficit, of course." That was the only analysis I disagreed with in the article. He'll toe the line, allowing the congress to let the Bush tax cut expire as he tries to mold a moderate image. If he raises taxes up front he loses his chances for a second term.
Next, I think that 40%, probably more, of the defense budget will get cut and all of the troops will be removed from current foreign operations. Say goodbye to all of the progress and hello to a powerful Iran as they sweep through the middle east - destroying Israel in the process - and installing a radical caliphate. I won't start on China or Russia.

November 3, 2008 - 17:09 ET by Dee Bunkthat's why I've given up on the liberals on this site. No matter how long they are here (3yrs and more for some) they have no understanding of conservatives.
I used to think that if you could just talk to liberals, they'd understand that Conservative positions were not evil, racist and against poor people. I was wrong. They prefer to think of us that way. Sometimes they pretend to understand us, but it's just pretending. They always come back with the same stuff.

I agree in general. However, Balboa can be reasonable when he wants to be - and very disingenous on other occasions. Just when you think he's respectful of views he may differ with, he'll turn around and deliberately misinterpret reasonable comments as fringe-like - and mock them - as he did here with Motherbelt's. He had no basis for calling her on her comment - none at all. That was trollish - and I think he can be better than that.

Also true for CA Prop. 8
November 3, 2008 - 10:12 ET by garyganuNoel, I agree with everything that you predict in your article "Say Goodbye to America". However, I would like to add one thing:
If proposition 8 passes in California, I would expect much mischief and violence from radical homosexuals in California.
When a segment of the population is unwilling to accept the results of elections, we are on the road to losing our democracy. This has already happened in about 8 states already where voters passed referendums on banning gay marriage, but the activists were unable to accept the result of the election. Activist lawyers then "shopped" these cases to liberal judges in state courts. Eventually these judges overturned the vote of the people in every state where gay marriage is now legal.
This happened in California several months ago. Now there is a referendum on Tuesday's ballot that will overrule the California court if passed. If the voters in California, once again vote to ban gay marriage, I do not think that the gay activists will accept this result. I think they will turn to violence, intimidation, smear tactics, claims of voter fraud and any other means at their disposal to nullify the vote.
The root cause of this behavior is the change in American culture. Many Americans no-longer believe in a power greater than themselves and universal spiritual principles. When you substitute "San Francisco values" for spiritual principles, the inevitable result will be chaos. Raising a ruckus is what unprincipled people do best when they don't get their way. I do not see this trend reversing unless America gets back to the core values that made this nation great.

If the Obamatons win
November 3, 2008 - 08:30 ET by ahusserIf der little shwarzefuhrer wins, hide your guns and wear a black armband for the death of the Republic.
The political polarization going on has been nasty. IMO generated from the left side mostly. The future from here is unrecognizable. I, much to my dismay, have seen the political divide scar my relationships with family and friends. There is always a tension in the air at gatherings because of this election. This does not bode well. As wrong as I think the South was in 1865 I understand the feeling. The Democratic Party then was the great polarizer and is now the great polarizer. We have become spoiled rotten children and do not recognize the great and wonderful bounty we have. The last great Socialist movement in this country was in the 30's during the Great Depression. At least I see a reason for the discontent then. I don't now. There are jobs, no breadlines or massive poverty to somehow "correct", we are generally well fed, employed, sheltered.
Somehow I get the strange feeling that all this is orchestrated. That the GOP in general and conservatives in particular are now being targeted and isolated and soon be demonized as evil incarnate. Count on it. God help the Republic.

It is NOT over, people. We haven't finished voting yet. We KNOW the pollsters always favor the Democrats.
Myself and that marvelous Mr. Marston have re-racked the Poll numbers and both of us see a victory for Senator McCain. I see it as highly probable, Mr. Marston guarantees it by 42 Electoral Votes.
Remember, the fat lady is named "Ms. PUMA" and she has NOT begun to sing yet!
A lot of people think PUMAs are all women mad about Hillary, but sampling proves there may be just as many, if not more, MEN who are liberal enough to vote for Hillary, but not Socialist enough to vote for Obama, and they are really upset that the DNC stole the nomination from their beloved Hillary.
Also, do not forget the fat lady "Ms. Bradley Effect"...

If the Dem's lose, they're
November 3, 2008 - 09:17 ET by bschoomIf the Dem's lose, they're victims of their own hype, from their
sympathetic madia outlets and newspapers to their candidate's ego.
I do think America is headed in a different direction, from economic
changes and energy alternatives regardless, but in spite of that, if
obama is elected, altogether something else may come.
If obama wins, Republicans may have a vigilant fight, as most Americans
that care about their country should have, in keeping our traditions
and valued way of life maintained. As a possible perfect storm
economically occurred, this could also possibly be a catalyst of change
to the landscape of America's way of life itself.
With the Iraqi conflict, most mainstream Americans heard only negative
reports from media outlets. The housing crisis, and then the overall
financial crisis included. Once any of these conditions improve these
same outlets aren't reporting the upswing changes.......Unless it
serves their interests.
The USA needs some sort of media reform in the sense we're not getting
what the leftist media wants us to hear, no more than any other
propaganda machine from any other self-interested political party or
group. This 'desired perspective' from the main media outlets will not
change regardless of what candidate is elected. They'll continue to
create negativity for the one they oppose and promote positivity for
the one they chose.
Regarding obama, were he to try anything too extreme, hopefully there
will be an outcry, and there should be, from (some of) the nation,
which may clarify a division that isn't as evident now.
With his background of known associates, and the hinting of his
policies, I think if he were to socialize America, or promote one group
at the expense of another, the nation will be divided.
IF elected into the White House, I can only hope the gravity of his
position, the weight of responsibility will take him in another
direction, make him realize that where he came from is nothing compared
to where he takes this country if he follows through with campaign
rhetoric.
I don't oppose a black candidate, this country is made up of many people, and the presidential office concerns the welfare of ALL citizens, regardless of color, or economic status. I hope some won't
see obama as a way to a better life without effort, and this 'event'
will dismay some of his hopeful following.
OK
November 3, 2008 - 09:15 ET by cvgbuckeyeOK, all of you "Seperation of Church and State" people; get ready to have your kittens:
1. There is NOTHING in the constitution about "Seperation of Church and State".
2. America is "One nation under God" and people need to read up on the overwhelming evidence that the founding fathers ABSOLUTELY made no secret of this fact.
3. America makes up less than 5% of the world's population but we supply over 75% of the world's Christian missionaries, or any other missionaries for that matter since non-Christian religions dn't really engage in such efforts.
4. In regards to #3 above, it is impossible to draw any other conclusion other than America is currently God's chosen nation to carry the water for Christianity throughout the world.
5. We, as a Christian community, have allowed America to turn it's back upon God. We have stood by, in fear, as political correctness, the ACLU, the main stream media, liberals in general, a decadent society and our educational system (and on and on) have removed God from practically every walk of life except the walls of the churches.
6. We have been intimidated into refraining from delivering our Christian message within and out of our Churches in fear of embarrassment, criticism and losing our tax exempt status.
7. WE NEED TO BOLDLY PROCAIM OUR MESSAGES AND TELL THE GOVERNMENT WHAT THEY CAN DO WITH THEIR TAX EXEMPT STATUS!
This thought could go on and on but the bottom line is that, if Obama is elected, we cannot blame Obama. False prophets have existed for thousands of years and he is just one more. The most alarming thing is that the population of America, the greatest nation on earth, has come to this; that they have lowered themselves to the status of Sodom and Gomorrah and are getting ready to elect a president who 50 years ago would have been considered a disgrace to his country; a man who would not only fail a security clearance but couldn't even pass a background check.
WELL FOLKS, IT AIN'T EVER GOING TO HAPPEN AGAIN! The Christian community is, by far, the largest membership group in AMERICA and we intend to spend the next 4 years taking back America from what I fear will be an outright Marxist country.

November 3, 2008 - 09:19 ET by lareeThat is the Question the MSM Liberal Biased folks, want you to believe that the majority of Voting Americans are "Far Left Progressive Liberals" Barack Obama proudly declares he is a Liberal. When was the last time this Country elected a Liberal let alone a Far Left Progressive Liberal? The last Democrat President was William J Clinton who ran as a Moderate. I am supposed to believe that the entire U.S.A. all of sudden has decided to go with the European Model? Really? Who is going to elect a Green Hyper Ambitious Pol? With Two Wars and many International Threats against this Country? Not to mention what he wants to do to an Economy already in a recession worse. Taxes and closing Coal Plants...what a Great Idea lets not get more people working lets put more people out of work. Two major things have concerned me during Barack Obama's campaign 1. ACORN, the Clintons filed a complaint with the F.B.I. back during the Democrat Primary over Obama and ACORN. That is how far back ACORN has been effecting the Voter results. 2. That huge garganutan pile of money, The Obama Campaign amassed. My daughter asked me, can you Impeach someone before they have been elected? Is this what we are looking at down the road. Because there is apparent Fraud ACORN & Campaign contributions. I am voting for Sarah Palin and Cindy McCain's husband. It is the Sane thing to do.

November 3, 2008 - 09:23 ET by mattmWe have been cheated- the media have lied, deceived, manipulated, covered-up, etc. If we had an objective media, Obama wouldn't have a chance in Hell - he wouldn't even be the nominee, and neither would McCain. We'd have a center-right Democrat against a quasi-Libertarian Republican.
If this country is so desperate to have a liberal president, why is the liberal candidate running away from his liberalism and is promising tax cuts and family and does a photo-op coming out of church....all the traditional center-right, middle American stuff he, and his Ayersian leaders hate?
Because
November 3, 2008 - 09:53 ET by ahusserWith the left the end justifies the means. Anything to get elected. Being more Republican than your Republican opponent is just to scam some more votes and as a smoke screen for Obama's true liablilities which were never investigated properly. Bill Clinton ran as a moderate. The first official act from Bubba, if you remember, was lifting the ban on gays in the military. Now that presidential edict came from "left" field out of the blue and showed Bill's true colors. Pretending to be a centrist is just a tactic to get elected.
It was sort of a rhetorical
November 3, 2008 - 11:03 ET by mattmIt was sort of a rhetorical question. I know why they do it. The point I was making is that it proves the people of this country are not far left liberals, and are more center-right.
Thus, if the media had been doing its job, there is no way someone as unqualified, radical and leftist as Osamba could get anywhere close to being president.
Matt
November 3, 2008 - 16:49 ET by ahusserI agree with you about the media. I started seeing Obama commercials (which I usually mute) with how "Republican" he really is you know tax cuts for the middle class a strong military and will stand up to America's foreign enemies. I don't even think he is an American citizen. But no court in this fair land would ever say he is not. I think from now on every candidate should prove beyond any doubt that they are constitutionally qualified to be President. It bodes not well that Obama cannot even do that. The Democrat Party is a shameful entity.

JoelCT's Prediction For Tomorrow
November 3, 2008 - 10:01 ET by JoelCTI, and others like me, have been crunching the numbers for weeks, watching trends and studying patterns.
Since it is the day before the election, I'll go ahead with my prediction here.
Popular Vote:
McCain 49.795%
Obama 49.235%
Electoral College:
McCain 285
Obama 253
This is based on:
First of all on Conservatives swallowing their pride and accepting that they don't have the perfect candidate, and voting for McCain, warts and all.
Second, the PUMAs are real and are still mad.
Third, there really is a "Bradley effect" but it is guilty whites not wanting to tell pollsters they aren't voting for the black guy, and voting against him when they get behind the curtain. These people aren't racists, they just don't want a Socialist in charge of the country, but can't admit it. A true racist has no problem telling anyone and everyone they aren't voting for the black guy.
So there it is. I believe it to be real with all my heart. It isn't wishful thinking, it is realistic evaluation of the current state of our country.
When it comes true, we will all get to watch Chrissy and Olberwoman actually cry on television tomorrow night.
Ok, that last prediction may be wishful thinking. :-)

Any nutjobs who vote for the 3rd party candidates are taking votes away from Obama. And there are a LOT of PUMAs out there, male and female, who will NOT vote for Obama. And while I know a few misguided registered Republicans who are going to vote for Obama as some sort of protest against McCain, I really believe that in the final analysis there are far more Dems voting for McCain than Repubs voting for Obama. Since the country tends to skew Republican outside of the urban areas, I still have hope for McCain/Palin. I think the difference will be how much vote fraud the Dems get away with in key swing states.

November 3, 2008 - 10:18 ET by dboIf I don't say goodbye to America tomorrow, I probably will when 20 million plus illegals are granted amnesty. This in turn will lead to even more illegals. The majority of those that go on to be American citizens will vote for the democrats. Big government will just keep getting bigger. But I guess that just makes me a racist. God knows I've been told that so many times in the last two months.

Our troubled cities have more to do with the imbalance of power in this country than ever before. As poor minorities rushed into the major cities for welfare dollars, those who were fed up with the rising rate of crime poured out.
If you live anywhere near a major metropolitan area, the next time the census rolls around at least you'll be able to claim minority status. I for one will not fill out my census with an ounce of accuracy. Cheers

America is tougher than all of this!
November 3, 2008 - 10:53 ET by Secret ConservativePerhaps it is my advancing age, but I believe America is stronger than any campaign, any election, any temporary civil disobedience. If Barack Obama should win ( and despite the best efforts of the MSM I believe this is a HUGE if) then the Republicans need to stop sitting around nursing their wounds and get started on the 2010 Congressional elections. We've had bad Presidents before, and we will again. The great thing about America is we can pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off and move forward. When Bill Clinton was elected, what did we do? We rallied behind Newt Gingrich and the Contract for America and restored the Congress to the conservatives for the first time in 40 - 50 years! Now, we can blame the Republicans in that Congress for squandering that opportunity, but hopefully we've learned our lessons and won't do that again.
Even if McCain is elected, he's going to have the fight of his life on his hands if the Congress remains in the hands of the Dems. So no matter who is President, we need to reclaim Congress.
As far as all of the vitriol and bad feelings and partisan infighting, have you all been asleep for the past 8 years? We will just experience more of the same if McCain is elected. If Obama is elected, the media will portray it as the second coming, UNTIL he does something to tick them off. And he will. Or until the next liberal deity comes along and they stage a mutiny on the Good Ship Obama to embrace the latest shiny bauble of Hope and Change. And they will. Just ask Hillary - or John McCain, for that matter.
I'm old enough to have been an adult during the Carter Administration, which has gone down in infamy as one of the WORST presidencies in history. And he had a Dem Congress. And he was a disaster! And he ushered in Ronald Reagan, one of the GREATEST Presidents in our history. Sometimes America needs to do something really stupid (Carter / Obama) in order to get our minds right to do something really SMART (Reagan / Whoever in 2012.)
But no matter what, America has survived and come back stronger than ever, and we always will.
I couldn't agree more. All

On one hand, I think Congress will be typically inept and probably will coast along and not pass many things. See the recent republican 6 years with the abandonment of conservative principles. Maybe the dems will do the same, just coast with feel-good legislation.
But Obama's policies such as founding a paramilitary civilian force, and bankrupting our energy industry really do have me worried. Do you think he'll accomplish these goals in four years?

One huge, fundamental difference: This isn't 1976, and they weren't hell bent on destroying this country because they are embarrassed of its success and disagree with pretty much everything it stands for.

FOObama *Friends of Obama
With
Barack Obama now declaring what is good and evil, who will make profits
and who he will bankrupt in the mining, railroad, electric company and
main streets of America, it all makes perfect sense in what has been
occurring from the beginning.
It is the fact that there have been from the start FOObama licenses being handed out like James Bond 007, a license to kill.
In Obama, the Friends of Obama, get a FOObama license to do whatever they like.
For
example, Donald Young, the gay guy who was choir director of Obama's
church on Sunday and taught Obama to moan on Monday to oral sex, didn't
have a FOObama license.
The person sent over to murder Mr. Young
though did have a FOObama license which read, LICENSE TO MURDER DONALD
YOUNG. In this way when the Chicago Police showed up, the murderer just
whipped out his FOObama license and they said just like hunting season,
"OK boss guess it was gay guy season in Chicago, so move along".
These
FOObama licenses showed up in Joe Biden being allowed to kidnap
Lawrence Sinclair. There must have been a passel of them from Federal
Prosecutors in DC, Beau Biden and his assistant to the DC cops who lost
Mr. Sinclair in they system.
The same people who were printing up
passports and hiding what was illegal in there for Obama must be making
a fortune in printing up the FOObama licenses to crime.
Charlie
Gibson must have got one in a sort of bi sexual liaison to open his
shirt and lay back as he interviewed Obama to let the soap dropping
world know he was one of them.
Joy Behar on The View has one to expose her cleavage to the world and entice Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity.
Chris Matthews has a leg tingler license 008.
Kiran
Chetry and Chris Wallace have a special 008 FOObama license to sell
their souls to whichever way the wind boss blows their horn.
ACORN must have thousands of FOObama licenses to commit voter fraud.
Cousin Odinga has a special Kenya FOObama license to kidnap Jermone Corsi and overthrow the Kenyan government.
Bill
Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn have the FOObama license which is like
Clinton's retroactive taxes in they could rape Jewish girls in their
apartment, blow up old girlfriends and the liberal Department of
Justice just let them go on technicalities.
If the 9 11
hijackers had FOObama licenses to terrorize, there would have been no
wars and Obama would have been tossing roses at their 70 virgin
memorial in New York City, instead of the slain American heroes.
This
FOObama license is going to be a great hit. Obama's frankenfood
poisoners of the American people and their pets have them already.
There will be a Tom Daschle version to take over the biofuels industry
to make billions while Americans pay 40 dollars a gallon for gasoline,
but will only have the FOObama license to smile and not complain.
Rush
Limbaugh will not have a FOObama license, but all sorts of panting
FOObama fawning maniacs will have broadcast licenses to sing the
praises of Obama as FOObama.
This will all be so interesting as
you won't be asked for your Social Security Number, but your FOObama
number. Low numbers of children get drafted into the Obama military and
civilian corp to be raped, body part snatched and murdered in Africa
and Asia, while the high number FOObama licenses will serve at the
Obama compound earning 7 year degrees in 18 months in being FOObama.
I
see a trillion dollar program in all of this. Printing, FOObama
authorities to enforce the FOObama laws and of course the Al Gore
FOObama recycling memorial to all that plastic as one can not throw
away anything with FOObama on it as it is messiah sacred.
Jeremiah Wright should never have been fired as he had a FOObama racist hate card like Michele Obama.
Don Imus' FOObama care for nappy must have been in the mail and he should not have been disciplined.
Bill Clinton could have saved himself all that impeach mess if he had just had a FOObama card.
Goodness,
if only I had a FOObama card then I wouldn't have been stalked,
harassed, spied on people in Google (who were fun today in multi
loading a dozen FOObama licenses to post on my blog instead of 3),
Microsoft filling my box with Nigerian money scams, Yahoo censoring my
email and the other surveillance I know of that is not fit for print.
Americans
though all of us on the outside looking Obama in should all get us one
of these 008 licenses as you could whip it out to the IRS on taxes and
not pay them, the BATF arresting those 2 hair heads could have whipped
out their FOObama cards and not been a problem and maybe even the coal
industry could whip out a FOObama card and immediately become pure and
not an enemy of Obama if they just had the card that pays to have.
Or
Americans could just by God's common sense vote for John McCain and
Sarah Palin as I intend to along with my entire entourage and leave the
FOOBama back to the days of the KGB.

November 3, 2008 - 17:50 ET by Chris NormanI agree with Noel, but we don' have to wait until November 5th - I already don't recognize this country. We can no longer look to the national media for an even biased view of political events or, for that matter, any other event that may affect politics. What they do can no longer be labeled "biased" - they are deliberately puttting out dis-information and withholding news on behalf of a political party. They have effectively turned themselves into a part of a political party campaign - and soon - government - apparatus. This alone has altered the country profoundly - whatever else follows will be made possible by the loss of (an even somewhat) independent press. Nothing Obama can do as far as pulling government to the radical left will be as depressing and profound as the loss of a free press. The thing is, their freedom wasn't taken away, they traded it in to get their choice of candidate elected and will continue to refuse it so he can enact the far left policies with which they agree.

I agree 100% Chris - the new Obama Press is more troubling
November 3, 2008 - 20:13 ET by Dee Bunkthan an Obama win. If Obama were to win with a fair press it would be completely different. I still wouldn't like it, but if he wins now, it signals an end to everything this country was built on. I thought I couldn't be any more disgusted with the treatment of Bush and then the complete bias for Kerry in 2004 - but they outdid themselves. I really have something very close to hate for the MSM now.
Even if McCain pulls it off, It will still be very depressing because the press has turned so many people against any type of Republicans. Moderates like Bush & McCain being painted as Right wing nut jobs is bad enough but then they also demonized Palin, her whole family and Joe the Plumber. It's so sick - it literally makes me ill

Perhaps at the "change of command" ceremony when LTC Russell takes Murtha's seat. Even if Obama wins, it'll be worth it if Murtha goes down.

Guardian "news story"
November 3, 2008 - 19:58 ET by jaywlThe U.K.'s Guardian newspaper published an editorial by Michael Tomasky purporting that the "Swift Boating" of ObamaOne has not worked. The invocation of "Swift boating" apparently is the result when an opponent of Obama, or any other liberal, states in clear language the position of that candidate. This guy really gets carried away though:
"Sure enough, we did see a lot of it. John McCain and Sarah Palin worked
overtime to try to persuade Americans that Obama shared Ayers's radical
world view. McCain's disgraceful comparison of Khalidi to a "neo-Nazi"
- this about an American citizen by birth who teaches at an Ivy League
university and has no record of extremism beyond that which can be
conjured on rightwing websites on the basis of the odd out of context
quote - was perhaps the lowest point of his whole campaign. And the
Republicans have used race in subtle ways - the argument that Obama
would take people's hard-earned tax dollars and hand them to idlers on
"welfare" is a very old racist trope in the US."
I especially like the fiction about Khalidi. I get the impression he is a sweet little guy teaching the poetry of Emily Dickerson. Tomasky then repeats what Obama has been saying for months. "Here in the 11th hour, we are hearing that Obama is unpatriotic and a
friend to criminals; that he's not really a citizen of the US
(disproved over the weekend by birth registrars in the state of
Hawaii); and that his election will lead to a second Holocaust." I am sure that the Evil McCain will claim tonight that Obama is a robot sent from Red China.
Most Brit writers are pretty good and have a way of looking at us from a vantage we should see occasionally. Not this guy, he's a real idiot. To be fair, his full post is here:http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/2008/nov/03/us-election-republicans-democrats-tomasky. I was going to make a crude joke about Tomasky's nickname being Emily and having to do with what what these jerks need, but I won't.
What's up with Obama's "Civilian National Security Force'"?

November 3, 2008 - 22:28 ET by balboaUm, I don't think there is going to be any "great cultural divide" or "two Americas." There will be differences, as there always have been. The more people harp on them and make them the be-all, end-all, the more irrational people will get.
I don't plan on being one of those people, and I don't think that's going to be the prevailing attitude of most Americans.

November 3, 2008 - 22:25 ET by dark_dsBal the implications are that there is more division in this nation than anytime since the civil war ... the ramifications are that a house divided will fall ... that when the next attack hits in this country there will be no pulling together but a furthering of division .... both right and left are guilty of contributing to this ... but my sense is that Obama despite claiming he wants to bring the country together actually has elevated himself by creating division and his possible presidency will only cause more division
