For general discussion and debate. Possible talking point: McCain takes the lead?

The three-day average holds steady, but McCain outpolled Obama today, 48% to 47%. He is beginning to cut into Obama's lead among independents, is now leading among blue collar voters, has strengthened his lead among investors and among men, and is walloping Obama among NASCAR voters. Joe the Plumber may get his license after all. "Obama's lead among women declined, and it looks like it is occurring because McCain is solidifying the support of conservative women, which is something we saw last time McCain picked up in the polls. If McCain has a good day tomorrow, we will eliminate Obama's good day three days ago, and we could really see some tightening in this rolling average. But for now, hold on.

Oh my!

Happiness

I've read online people saying in 1980 the MSM played the Carter/Reagan contest as a dead-heat and too close to call all the way until the week-end before the election and then Reagan began to pull ahead.  Of course, that was a landslide of Biblical proportions for Reagan.  I'm not expecting that, but I do expect McCain/Palin to win.  I would caution and Rush/Hannity should scream from the rooftops to beware of MSM attempts to scare the McCain/Palin voters in the Western USA from getting out election day by proclaiming an inevitable Obama win based on THEIR exit polling from the Eastern USA.   Don't fall for it, Colorado (and dare I dream, California???)

Polling

I recall that in 1994 the MSM saying 'eh.. the Republicans will gain a seat here or there, but the democRATS will retain control..'

The MSM has been attempting to influence elections through chicanry for decades now, not by providing information but rather misleading through propaganda.

PALIN/McCain 2008

1994? How about 2004?

I was so depressed with "President Kerry" (I had been reading that when I checked in and out of the internet that election day, including from the crybabies on National Review Online!) that I refused to watch the returns that night.  Good thing I checked in with Drudge before going to bed, and watched TV the rest of the night until morning!

I hope it is so.

I'll miss the initial market bump if McCain wins.  But I think I'll get over it sooner than the slavery of socialism.

"I'll miss the initial market bump if McCain wins.  But I think I'll get over it sooner than the slavery of socialism."

And what kind sir is wrong with socialism. I want someone to tell me when to eat, sleep, spend my hard earn money, and one day if I have children tell them what they should learn! Your sir are a boat rocker and I don't like boat rockers. What's your REAL name and address we...errr, "I" want a word with you!

"9 out of 10 doctors agree that flag burning is the number one killer of liberals."

Why the shift?

What I don't understand is, why are the Obama surrogates lowering expectations and bars before the 4th? Look, we all know that campaign promises are rarely kept, but in Obama's case, he'll have the backing of a Democratic Congress to get through everything he wants. McCain can always say that congress blocked his proposals. It's just politics. But why lower the bar now, if you're Obama? $250k, $200k, $150k, $120k? Seems like that candidate that has lied and cheated all through this election cycle is having a conscience crisis and is trying to prepare the country for his coming failures. I think it's playing out in the polls.

Along with the desire for pollsters to exhibit some sense of relevance... Pollsters that are off by more than a couple of points will lose all credibility as a reliable source. I think there is more accuracy in reporting and methodology, less spin in the questioning, and more accurate sampling (or, as some try to explain it away- the natural tightening of the race as election day draws near.)

I'm guessing the overconfidence and belief that they are so far ahead in early voting, that they can offer more truth now and say later that 'they told us so during the campaign.'

Bkeyser - BHO paid $21 million for polling from these guys

So the Campaigns may get their OWN POLLS from these paid pollsters, using whatever criteria that BHO wants.  They probably only give the results to the Campaign that paid for it.

The MSM gives us our polls for free, but BHO and McCain are buying additional tarrot card readings for internal consumption.

Even BHO doesn't wait for Chris Matthews to tell hims it's time to visit Iowa again, BHO relies on a better, faster, more intelligent guess than the MSM talking heads.

Yeah, I understand that

Agreed- I'm quite sure the internal polls have been much closer all along. Surely McCain/Palin wouldn't be in PA based on the poll numbers released to the masses... But I still can't figure why the O campaign is voluntarily stepping down from the clouds. They could spin the Iowa rallies as a "thank you" all the while maintaining their high-horse...

Based on the last two

Based on the last two presidential elections and the 'polls' that preceeded them, my gut has been telling me this election season that if McCain was within 2% the day before the election, he'd win.

I think that's still the case.

The chaos that erupts at CNN and MS-NBC if McCain pulls an upset

A strong finish by McCain?  If VA and PA follow the national trend, and if there's any truth to this thing about 14% being undecided, McCain might actually pull this thing out.  And if he does, on Wednesday, the two tuners on my DVR will be recording the braying, screaching and angry condemnations of the "racist Americans" spewing forth from CNN and MS-NBC.  Jack Cafferty, Chris Matthews, Roland Fat Head Martin and Bathtub Boy will be "don't miss tv".

Even more entertaining will be a contest that comes down to one or two states where there's some controversy over fraud or "suppression" or re-counts.  That'll really make the libs freak out on the air:  "YOU'RE NOT GOING TO STEAL ANOTHER ELECTION" type blather.

Already seeing a lot of comments by these guys and editorials warning Americans that if they don't elect Obama they can expect a good hollaring at,  and accept it like the good, little racists they are.

That's Newsbusters' J-O-B

No way would I DVR Olbermann or Matthews.  When their heads explode I expect to view it here.  Honestly, NewsBusters could make and sell a "Best Of" DVD I'm betting...

Oh please oh please

Too funny

.

IF ???

"if McCain pulls an upset"

If McCain is close or ahead, he is definitely ahead. Joe "the Plumber" has awakened many people. Obama has also showed his tyrannical side in his treatment of some reporters.

Obama is the BIGGEST fraud ever. No proof of citizenship. Countless violations of campaign contributions. The MSM campaigning for him. Countless endorsements from terrorist organizations and countries which are part of the Axis of Evil.
What is really sad for him ... he is still going to lose.

If conservatives are RIGHT, then liberals must be WRONG.

There will absolutely be

There will absolutely be chaos.  They have been counting on a landslide, so a loss will NOT be accepted without universal cries of cheating and vote fraud.

I remember that "President

I remember that "President Kerry" fraud the media was perpetuating from '04, too.  I remember how Kerry was leading in the early exit polls and the media kept cutting to a smiling Kerry, shaking hands and hugging his staffers as the results came in on TV. I guess they were trying to infer that it was "all over" -- stay home Republican!  Kerry's got it in the bag! Then suddenly Rasmussen had Bush up by 3% and the rest was history. Similar things seem to be happening here, 4 years later --- maybe with similar results.  This time, I'll stay up this election eve. If McCain does pull it out it's gonna be fun watching Olbermann have an on-camera seizure.

Media fraud

Yeah, they won't make that mistake again. Which is why we have the addition of groups like ACORN to augment their ability to 'steal' this election and accomplish what they failed to do the last couple or so elections.

PALIN/McCain 2008

And if you recall, they

And if you recall, they were claiming that the results were fraudulent because their exit polling showed Kerry winning!

Of course, people would NEVER lie to pollers about who they voted for!

Well I'm not going to get all excited over a possible upset, but neither am I going to give up.

The MSM trying to Gin up some Viewer ratings ?

Oh the Drama of it all, it's so close . . . .

Finally

Someone has to acknowledge McCain's got a chance.....after Months of being down by double Digits ?   When did double digits become invalid ?   Seems awful fast to me, maybe the polls still can't be believed.

The Efforts of the MSM to manipulate voters is ongoing, and BHO may wish he didn't have Chris Matthead and his wayward MSM followers on his Team.

Sometimes the Guy who stops to help someone with a flat tire, gets run over by an 18 wheeler going down the road.

HAHAHA

Jay Tee, that was great! :)

And boy ooooh boooooyyy, baby BABY..... I've been feeling all along that something's been really fishy (stinky) in the air. Of course, the stench being the MSM and their big Tonka Toy, Obama.

This whole PR/propaganda/sales job of the Do Nothing Senator Out Of Nowhere But He's Black (did we tell you?) is going to be exposed... and if McCain DOES pull this off, it will just have me more enraged over the utterly crooked MSM.

But the upside will be -- we can hope -- their demise, as they're credibility will be totally shot -- not to mention, the power of the internet will continue to grow.

You're the next contestant on...
THE MESSIAH IS... LEFT !!

I've been wondering...

...like some of you what will be the response to a McCain/Palin victory. Seems to me that the Democratic candidate- whether it was Obama, Hillary, or even (okay, I know you'll laugh, but he did actually run...) Joe Biden- he or she would have had a decided advantage over the Republican candidate in '08. That's just the nature of fickle politics in this country. But stealing the election? I know; I wouldn't put it past Olberman and Matthews, but don't you risk losing even hard-left viewers with a claim like that...this year? All of the stars are aligned (not just the Hollywood ones); the media is so openly in the tank and writing that way since 2006; ACORN; you name it- in every aspect and by every measure Obama should win this thing.

It can only be that the country is truly right of center and doesn't want the radical agenda of hard-leftist controlling their lives if McCain pulls this out. And how do they spin that?

It's hard to explain Keyser

All i know is, that if you watch as much TV as I do and read as much as I do, the major news vehicles in this country (NYT, Boston Globe, Chi Tribune, NBC, ABC, CBS, CNN)  NEVER admit a democrat loses because of policies.

Even the guy whom many consider the most down the middle guy, the late Tim Russert, in a post-election discussion with Tom Brokaw stated emphatically that Republicans only get elected because they field the more "Likelable" canidate and NOT the one whose polices they prefer.

So every election season for the past 20 years has a story on how Michael Dukakis lost because of negative campaigning and Republican dirty tricks.  Now they have Kerry and the swiftboaters to add to their list.

Also, the media's unwillingness to see anything negative about Obama and his supporters vs.  ALL BAD about McCain and Palin and their "vicous" attacks and their "Right-wing" supports.

I think more than anything the news media is trying harder than ever this election cycle to marginalize anyway who is not left of center and brand them "Right-Wing" extremists and way out there.  Never mentioning how left-wing Obama is, calling him centrist.

The media will NEVER, EVER admit that it is left of center.  They will continue even harder, if McCain wins, to portray him as a right-wing, conservative who stole the election.

I don't know...

I think you explained it pretty well. I know the media is left-leaning (being kind- humor me...) I've heard that explained as reporters seeing the worst of society as they come up through the ranks- creating a feeling of "we need to do more for the folks that needs us the most" mentality. That may be partly true, but I put more blame on the academic institutions for teaching journalism in a liberal vein. Some are able to overcome that, most probably aren't.

Funny thing is, with the print media dying (not just because of bias but even moreso the internet) I can see these media-types assisting their own death. -What if Obama wins? Can you see the financially failing media gathered up under an Obama administration and rolled into a NPR-type of "National Media"? Sounds a bit drastic, I know, but aren't we seeing the signs of what he does to disenting viewpoints? What would be better for him and his message of "Hope (to be running your lives)" than a state-run media?

Great Article on Politco Keyser

According to one major media journalist you are not that far off.

There's a great article that was on Politico, I don't have the link but maybe if you do a search of NB you can find it.

In the last week a reporter wrote a great article about how he was "Ashamed to be called a Journalist" that was the title of the piece.  He says he tells people he meets he does something else so they won't hate him or look down on him.

In a nutshell, he thinks the dying media is backing Obama and a complete Dem takeover so that they WILL institute the "Fairness Doctrine" and put out of business all the people on the right so that they can once again reign supreme.

FYI:

Remember, that the "fairness doctrine" only works if there is a complaint AND if the FCC decides to investigate it AND enforce the laws.

Just like the faux outrage over the outrage over the Superbowl "Wardrobe Malfunction" of 5 years ago, the only reason CBS was fined was because of the overwhelming number of comlaints they recieved, NOT because the FCC was going around indescriminantly fining TV stations on Bush's wims, as many lefty's tried to imply.  I think CBS got a court to throw out the fine and it's going to the Supremes.

CNN is showing Obama winning

After hearing this last night on Fox I turned over to CNN to see what they were saying and they had John King doing his electoral map and basically saying it's all over for McCain.

He was putting states in blue and shading allot of them "pink" not red, meaning McCain was losing ground.

They started out with Obama with about 300 electoral votes and McCain with only 200 and losing states GOP usually wins.   They did the exact same thing in 04 as many have said here.

CNN.COM was saying last night as their headline that Dems out number Republicans by a wide margin in early voting and that mean they are going to lose.

This kind of thing should be totally illegal.  After 2000 they said they wouldn't try to influence elections by projecting results but they do it anyway.

Past elections

The polls and the MSM have been wrong so many times, more often wrong than right. This explains wide swings in various pollsters findings. Why does one show a few points difference and another double digits. I believe most if not all the network polls with the possible exception of Fox, are projecting what they hope happens. Over decades of watching this nonsense I think most polls are skewed so as to get the outcome desired by the polling parties. As already stated, the MSM had Kerry already in the Oval office gauging from their own exit polls. Believe it or not, many people in this country still consider their vote a sacred duty and a gift, and choose not to share their votes with some pointed headed schmuck shoving a microphone into their faces when they exit the voting booth. There is a "silent" majority and they vote. They are too busy working, taking care of their families and living to get involved in the fray we see on the idiot box every night. They will go vote on Tuesday and go about their lives and leave it in God's hands. The nattering, nasty nincompoops we see on TV are the minority but they get the coverage. They thought Jimmy Carter had a chance too. When as the MSM ever been right? These people never leave the confines of their offices, their gated communities or their parties where they laugh and makes jokes about "Joe Six Pack", yet when you see them on TV, they seem to know exactly what the "American people" want or need. They don't know any American people. The American people are invisible to these people and their Beltway mentality. That is why they are always wrong!

Although a 45 year Republican---

Although a 45 year Republican---I have always voted the person, not the party. I unashamedly admit that I will pull the lever on the right side in every instance in thsui election. I have seen the seeds of hate grow into negative actions, more on the Democratic side than on the Republican. I have read about many candidates, outside my state, as well as inside. There are a few, not many, good Dermocrats. The actions of the leaders of their party tells me we will have a hateful society if the Democrats prevail. The IMAGINED slights by numbers of blacks, the stated intentions that now is their time and other comments are an insult to those of us, who for years have lived decent and fair lives without prejudice or hate.

It's time to vote party (God, I hate to say that) and protect America. While the choice for president is a selection of the lesser of two evils, there are many Congresssional candidates who are good and decent Americans.

Get off your butts and even if you have to be on line for 4 hours, stand and fight for our Republic and vote Conservative.

MB

I am encourged. I voted on October 17th. The day I was there I was the only white out of 10 blacks voting. Since the media tells us 95% of blacks are voting for 0bama then I must assume they are voting for him

I just came by the local high school where early voting is occuring. (A state judge told the counties to leave the polls open an extra 4 hours on Saturday.) Anyway there was a line about 50 feet long from the  door. Most of the folks where white. All the news media reports on early voting have shown mostly blacks in line. To me that is good sing.

Is vs. May

While the AP which apparently broke the story is reporting Obama's aunt from Nigeria IS in the United States illegally CNN.com is saying she MAY be.

Even the AP gets it.  Actually CNN probably gets it too, they're just reluctant to say anything bad about the Chosen One.  They must not want anything to interfere with John King's calling the election for Obama four days ahead of time

October surprise

There is a new story about Obama's aunt is living here in the USA illegally. I thought this was no big deal and thought it was just nitpicking.

However, I just heard the Obama camp said he has no knowledge of her situation. I find this hard to believe this, since he even talked about her in his book

kwanzaa and holidays

Trust me. If the Big O is elected, many Americans will have plenty of time off ... without pay.

If conservatives are RIGHT, then liberals must be WRONG.

depends on your philosophies

I guess my first question would be : is this person content with their situation.  If the answer is yes I would probably check up on them once in awhile to see if their answer/situation has changed.  Not everyone thinks that all the comforts American's enjoy are 'all that'.  Sometimes spiritual fullness is more than enough to create a sense of contentment in life that can transcend the creature comforts we take for granted here.

If these relatives of Obama's are truly unhappily living in squallor as a conservative person with the 'teach a man to fish' philosophy I would not simply just give them money.  I would seek to make their current living situation a healthy one but not push to move them into luxury.  More, I would try and make sure that they had the tools they need to make their life successful.  Education.  Job Skills.  People get where they are by in large, by making choices.  Giving a person more wealth doesnt magically make them better at making those choices.

If I had more of the give the man a fish' mentality and had Mr Obama's millions of dollars I would probably just have written a check.

Either way Obama dealt with it, he would have been judged by his peers for his philosophy.  Nothing could be much more a concrete benchmark for Obama than how he deals with his family.  So I believe he did what he does best when he wants to avoid displaying a concrete view of something.  He voted present.

Voting present

It demonstrates two things about Obama, people in these circumstances should be 'wards of the State' and that he's an elitest.

Arnold can get their attention

Never been an Arnold fan as far as politics, but watching him stump for John McCain yesterday, you gotta give him his dues for illuminating the crowd. He has the charisma, and says the right words to be real effective. Too bad he can't become a permanent voice over the next 3 days. It's a lot better asset for Mccain to have him in his corner, than to be endorsed by Collin Powell. Maybe I'm in the minority, but my impression of Powell, was, he was soft.

Its encouraging McCain is gaining in the national polls

but, it is the electoral college poll that counts.

I haven't seen it mentioned here, and I'd love to see a tribute, but RIP to Studs Terkel. A brilliant man who was a master at his craft, and even though he had sucky political beliefs, his gift cannot be denied, and is an inspiration to me.

oh, Drudge pushes the darndest stories

Just for the historically-minded here, though I don't want to fall into the genetic fallacy (i.e., "Everything Drudge says is wrong"), I do think it interesting that Drudge is pushing this Zogby one-day polling story almost as hard as he pushed the Ashley Todd story.

The lesson here is, keep an open mind, but take Drudge reports with a grain of salt.

Unfortunately, one-day polling is not the industry standard for a reason: it's very volatile, with high margins of error. (I've also heard from statistician friends that Zogby's other methods are not quite reality-based, such as weighting polls according to 2004 exit polls on party identification.) Given that no other poll shows McCain leading, I'd take this with a grain of salt.

But watch that sodium intake this electoral season--instead of taking some of this indo with a grain of salt, you'd probably be healthier just to skip some of these snacks (like Drudge) altogether.

Poll Farm, by George Orwell

Hey C,

Paraphrasing George Orwell, All polls can be wrong, but some can be wronger than others.

But let's not forget, polls can be wrong, but some can also be right. Unfortunately, this Zogby poll (that some posters here take as the first sign of a McCain win) is almost definitely wrong, for the reasons I stated.

(However, I also think it's ridiculous not to go out and vote because the media says it's a foregone conclusion. I think we have to go out and vote for what we think is right--although we also have to admit that voting for our side doesn't necessarily mean our side will win.)

I've looked at this poll

I've looked at this poll with skepticism too, mainly for the reasons that you have provided. The 1-point lead by McCain means absolutely nothing unless he hits a lead on every single poll within three days: Rasmussen, Zogby, Gallup, Fox, CBS, NYT, USA Today, AOL, etc..

Gearing up for trouble

A good friend of mine is the resource officer, deputy sherrif, at the local high school. He told me yesterday that the sherrif is giving him 5 deputies to be placed at the school next Wednesday. He has gotten wind that if 0Bama didn't win, the blacks were going to cause trouble. If 0bama won the blacks were going to taunt the "rednecks." This is mostly a rural area where a lot of the boys drive pick ups and hunt.  I don't think we"ll see them bring any guns. I know a lot of them. They are good kids. They are not going to have this rubbed into their faces-hey will take action.

Get to the real story Newsbusters as I will break here. The story of polling was covered days ago.  PUMA voters joining McCain Palin voters will make this a rout of epic standards.

I hear California is calling.

As a Conservative, I like seeing liberals defeated, but I dislike it
when festering liberals like Peggy Noonan or David Brooks stink up the
Republican party and I dislike it when Marxists like Barack Obama stink
up the Democratic party for the simple reason it is bad for America.
America works best in government the government fights itself instead of beating on the citizens.

In
that, I vote Republican and am upset more times than not with a
majority of them acting like all the work Conservatives did in putting
them into power was like a whorehouse weekend turned into 8 years.

Democrats
have an even larger problem in they have been run by pimps, whores,
homosexuals and johns for the past 30 years who keep enticing that
party to take one more step into hell when satan is standing there
scratching his head thinking, "You people are making this too easy for
me."

The subject of my concern is what Barack Obama has done to the Democratic party which is going to come due.
In
being honest, Bill Clinton took millions in bribes from communist
Chinese who got too much secret American technology that put America
into danger, but Clinton at least got the bills paid for Democrats.

Al
Gore and John Kerry followed and provided a massive debt hole Democrats
were having a huge problem dealing with, and then, came the dope party
for Barack Obama.

Barack Obama is a Marxist hiding in the
Democratic party. The PUMA voters are furious over this guy, but they
have not figured out yet just what Obama did to the Democratic party.

Obama
currently has spent 800 million dollars. In checking on that money, it
can be gauged that at least 300 million is illegal, meaning it is from
counterfeit Middle Eastern accounts or these money cards using the
identities of real people.
Democrats often in the LBJ mode think it
cute when Jack Kennedy stole the 1960 election or how Daley in Chicago
loads up the ballots like Tim Johnson will attempt as numerous
Democrats will this November.

The problem is that Democrats have had Barack Obama pulling this on them this campaign.

The
problem is Democrats whether Obama ends up defeated, impeached, in
prison, in exile, Barack Obama has just left the Democratic party with
at least a 300 million dollar illegal debt which may reach 500 million
dollars which Democrats WILL HAVE TO PAY OFF.

You will remember
Democrats how you let Obama join your party and how he spurned public
money to go his own way? Well Democrats Obama has been spending money
like the heir to the Buffett bankroll using 100 dollar bills for
everything from toilet paper to whores and this binge is going to be
legally have to be paid by Democrats.

Want to talk about a party
implosion in the next year? This is what Democrats are facing over this
Obama drunk. So many Democrats have been complaining about George W.
Bush as they take his rebate checks and their leaders wrote and passed
the spending bills Bush 43 passed, but no Democrat has deciphered what
dictator problem child Obama has done in bankrupting the Democratic
party.

How is a looser party for the White House or you best
hope an impeached Obama running to exile going to pay off a billion
dollars in debt?
Remember Democrats after Kerry and Dean you didn't
have money for Congressional races. Obama hasn't allowed any of that
illegal money he raised to flow into those races, but he sure is going
to stick all Democrats with a bill.

Just try Democrats funding
2010 elections with a half a billion dollar debt. Just try in 2012 to
run Hillary with all your donor coffers in the red.

I have no
idea right now if when Bill Ayers and Frank Davis were grooming Obama
in this Marxist takeover the Democratic party if the entire plan was to
destroy the Democratic party, but Democrats, the fact is staring you in
the face that Barack Obama has just sold the title to your home, your
care and your left testicles and place a lean on the right.
Karl
Rove couldn't have designed a better scheme to neuter Democrats for the
next 30 years and here Barack Obama did it for whoever is pulling his
Marxist strings.

For all the cheering Obamaniacs, you got a
doozy of a hangover coming from your messiah as he didn't turn water
into wine, nope he just went on a money binge and turned 800 million
into a 500 million 2010 debt destroying the Democratic party.

I hope you're right

Clinton got away with his shenanigans. The media gave him a pass, and the Repubs are too afraid of being called mean-spirited to really go after Dem crooks (redundant, I know).

The media will still love him when this is over, and the illegal contributions will get swept under the rug again, more likely than not, based on recent history. Norman Hsu was a story for 3 days.

Iran to Suspend Nuclear Program Once Obama is President

I sadly discovered today that a favorite FoxNews contributor of mine, Ambassador Marc Ginsberg, is a liberal and Obama supporter. Amb. Ginsberg has appeared on FoxNews many times as a Middle East expert. Looking back, he seemed to have too much common sense to be a die-hard liberal.

It turns out that he has written frequently at the ultra-liberal Huffington Post. This is a sample of his October 31 post titled: McCain/Palin - R.I.P. Courtesy of the Middle East:

Having just gotten off the plane from the Middle East, one thing is for
certain: whether you are pro-Israeli, pro-Palestinian or pro-whatever,
there is hardly a soul who is not rooting for a big Obama victory on
Tuesday (except for extremist settlers and extremist Islamists).

-----------

Indeed, an Obama election has the capacity to positively impact,
however indirectly, the outcome of both Israeli and Palestinian
elections early next year. What wonderful tonic for a region where
extremists on both sides will try to influence the election to their
own worst devices.

------------

For all the vaunted Bush-Cheney-Rice failed ideology of cramming
democracy down the throats of Arab oligarchs and indifferent Arab
citizenry, the election of a President Obama will be the single most
important lesson in democracy development we could possibly hope to
enshrine as the foremost example for the future of potential civil
liberties and enlightened leadership in the Middle East.

--------------THIS LAST ONE IS A STUNNER

I was informed by regional journalists who cover Iran, that its
government is preparing a post-Bush policy proposal to the new
president which would include, among other things, a tantalizing offer
to suspend its nuclear enrichment program in exchange for a long list
of concessions, including Israel's dismantling of its own nuclear
program (think of North Korea, here).

------------------------------------------------------------

Sadly, I can never again take Amb. Ginsberg seriously when he explains what's happening in the Middle East.

»→ Iran capitulating?

That sounds as wonderful as Nancy Pelosi's promise that a veto proof Congress will yield a new age of bipartisanship.

Sometimes you hear something, and you just know it has that ring of truth you hear in church.

How stupid could we be?  Still digging.

  • Even if I want to take them [guns] away, I don't have the votes in Congress - B H Obama

Hi RF... I am not

Hi RF...

I am not surprised by Ginsberg's support, I, like you, did listen to his reports on Fox, it seemed he did a fair job, I was always interested to hear what he had to say ect...but he was an employee of Clinton so I always tried to keep that in mind... by the way, I didn't know he lowered himself to write on the Huffington Post...no wonder I haven't seen him on Fox lately...it really is sad what people do politically in my opinion...

Have you seen this about the UN and their support for Obama...

That's nothing. If Obama wins, you can expect the UN to be given the right to levy taxes on the U.S.

Obama's Economic plan: more taxes, more spending, more regulation. Prosperity here we come.

bigtimer

Thanks for the link to the UN article. It doesn't surprise me that many in the UN support Obama. Obama is a big, very big supporter of the UN.

Many are unaware that Obama has authored a bill, S.2433, to give the UN .7% of our GNP, or approximately $845 billion to be used to feed hungry 3rd worlders. This bill is now in the Senate.

WorldNetDaily further reports: Cliff Kincaid at Accuracy in Media has
published a critique asserting that while the Global Poverty Act sounds
nice, the adoption could "result in the imposition of a global tax on
the United States"
and would make levels of U.S. foreign aid spending
"subservient to the dictates of the United Nations."

If Barack Hussein Obama becomes President, this will be the beginning of Obama's and George Soros' view of One World Government and Open Society and Open Borders

There are so many Bills/Amendments that are just put aside for now, ready to come back up any time at Reid's pleasure, it is plain terrifying what could be passed...including the Dream Act if I remember right, it was just another name for the Senate to try to pass the illegal immigration Amnesty Bill that they failed on the first time with all of us out here PROTESTING...oh, we are in such a mess.

Flashback Nov 2004

I found this interesting

http://www.electoral...

That is the exception rather than the norm

Out of all the major pollsters, the only one that gave the advantage to Kerry was Fox news and one I never even heard of before and not one of them over 2 points after 10/25.

He's got my vote

I just think it significant

I just think it significant that, in spite of outspending McCain about 8 to 1, and with the media running interference the whole way, that the race is even within shouting distance for McCain.

It should already look like a blowout! But McCain hangs in there!

Experts! What do they know?

I live in verulently liberal part of the US. Only one local TV news station reported 2 days ago that in early voting here Dems and Reps were tied 49-49..and that the percent of early voting was less than in '04. The experts are all predicting a record turnout because of record number of new voter registrations. We'll see.

The experts in Canada were also predicting a record turnout there too but, alas, the IDGAS'ers foiled them again...and reelected their version of a conservative party.

Are yo better off than you were 4 weeks ago?

No thanks to Democrats, but in some ways, yes.

I just paid $1.92 per gallon of regular unleaded in North Texas.

If conservatives are RIGHT, then liberals must be WRONG.

McCain Wins?

This has been the strangest presidential election that I can remember (which dates back to LBJ and '64).

First, the election would have a more traditional feel if we conservatives had a candidate that we could wrap our arms around. Because of McCain's cum-bay-ya immigration policy, I'm voting against Obama and not for John McCain (though to be fair, since I live in Idaho, my vote won't matter -- McCain will win by 30% anyway).

But even when some of the polls were showing Obama up by 12% or more, I still didn't get the feel that he would win. I am deeply concerned, however, about the voter fraud that is happening across the country; no high official seems willing to talk about it for fear of being called a racist.

My crystal ball shows that many Americans are saying they'll vote for Obama now, but as the last weekend comes and goes, they become uneasy about all the things they are hearing. I think many realize that an Obama presidency coupled with a strong Democratic congress will once and for all transform the America we know today into just another cradle-to-grave, income restistributing European nation.

If we go down that road, we'll never come back.

And that's why I think McCain will win, but he will be a one-termer without question, and it'll be either Obama or Hillary in 2012.

Farid... ...Or Palin in

Farid...

...Or Palin in 2012.

I also agree with your sentiments in your post.

Btw..you are a neighbor of mine state wise...I am always glad to see others here that live in the NW.

This is the first time I have seen you here, so welcome...hope to see more of you on down the road.

America isn't the problem...America is the solution." ~ Rush Limbaugh

having just spent

having just spent an evening with my parents, whom I havent seen in a few weeks I have serious concern about the direction of politics and more so, the influence of the mainstream media.

My father, a party-line republican for his entire life, has drank the MSM koolaid and having all these unanswered lies and political half-truths come out of his mouth all night about Obama and McCain.... oh and especially Palin.... it was upsetting.  Upset with the Republicans for spending like drunken sailors the last 8 years he has decided that Obama is the best choice for this country.  He predicts the election to be a landslide the country has never seen before and that if McCain wins it will be racist americans who put him there.

It felt like Invasion of the Body Snatchers came to my dinner table.  We just smiled and tried to be polite.

So excuse me if I dont jump up and down about this 1 day poll

Rainbow flavored Kool-Aid

While it's true that Republicans tried to outspend liberal democRATS, I find it baffling that the answer to Republicans that spend money like 'drunken sailors' is to elect the most liberal Senator with a liberal-controled Congress? And that reduces spending?

So, the answer is to elect 'heroin addicts' to replace 'drunken sailors'? Hmm.. okay..

PALIN/McCain 2008

 "Upset with the

"Upset with the Republicans for spending like drunken sailors the last 8
years he has decided that Obama is the best choice for this country."

So, being angry over spending, his solution is to vote for a guy who has promised to increase spending by at least a trillion bucks, lol?

The logic of some folks is amazing. If I'm fed up with my church, I wouldn't reject Christianity and start worshipping the devil, I'd simply choose a different church. Likewise, you don't vote for liberals who don't believe in your principles just because some Republicans have strayed, or performed poorly. I mean, you're angry because they behaved like liberals, so yor solution is to turn the whole government over to the most liberal politicians in our history?

Yeah, that makes perfect sense.....

Obama's Economic plan: more taxes, more spending, more regulation. Prosperity here we come.

well

I am angry with him assisting in possibly turning this country over to the democrat party supermajority and making my children have to face a further legacy of debt (and possibly worse) because he felt the need to be bitter and spiteful.

We've always had our arguments (I vote independant) but I respected him.  His arguments were always fact based and was well informed.  Like I said.  Pod people.

kat... You have my

kat...

You have my condolences...I know what it is like to have some family members who feel different.

None of us really know this election what is going to happen...until the votes are in...but I am surprised your father would say that about racism/racists if he is a staunch repub all his life...this has nothing, I mean nothing to do with race...I am sick of it...it is because Obama is a far left Marxist and an enemy to the Constitution and this country as far as I am concerned.

"America isn't the problem...America is the solution." ~ Rush Limbaugh

I know the feeling

My parents watched Gore's Schlockumentary and were totally taken in by it. Then along comes Obama and they think he's great too. I've been doing nothing but presenting facts and WHY I think what I think for the last year and they are finally coming around. Mom is defnitely voting McCain. I'm not so sure about dad. But at least I changed 1!

I too thought about Invasion of the Body Snatchers. My parents were far right conservative most of my life so it's been weird to see them thinking the other way. When they finally saw how much of a socialist Obama was they finaally seemed to start wising up. We can hope that others will do so too in these final days...

Biden was at an undisclosed medical center undergoing an emergency operation to have his jaws wired shut. For the duration of the campaign he will be able to part his lips to flash that vivid white, used-car salesman smile, but any attempt to utter even a single word or grunt will bring immediate failure and excruciating pain. Obama insists that if he wins, the wires will be removed sometime before the end of his first term. Biden could be reached -- but could not comment.

I think another advantage

I think another advantage may be that a lot of Democrats will have all day to vote, while Republicans will have to wait and vote after WORK, and might end up still in line with the polls closing.

And you can bet there won't be any judge telling them to stay open.  Not that I think they should, but they won't even try like they did for Kerry.

Forget Bradley Effect. Think PUMA Factor.

Just wanted to get a reading on how you guys are feeling before election day.  I see a lot of cautious optimism.  That's good, because I'm feeling pretty good myself.  Will there be a Bradley Effect?  Sure, but how much?  Maybe 5 to 10 %.  However, I think the PUMA Factor is gonna be much more significant.  I lurk on their blogs every day.  These are the gals that are not being counted in the polls.  They have a saying that goes, "We Are The Ones That No One Was Expecting!"  If McCain wins, we're gonna have a bunch of "bitter" women to thank for it.

As for polling, IT IS NOT A SCIENCE.  I heard on Rush recently that up to 80% of people they call refuse to participate or don't answer their phones.  I don't know how that plays into the results.  Also, the MSM is making a big deal out of how many more Dems are registered and voting this year.  What they are not telling you is that a lot of those Dems will be voting for McCain, i.e. The PUMA Factor.  GO PUMAS!!!

The national poll is not worth much by itself. You have to look at the state polls right now. I'd be really suspicious of any state that is counted as firmly blue and Obama is not over 50%. Even states that are in the 50-52% range for Obama, you have to look at the "redneck" (hey I can say that - I ain't running for office) history of the state to see if there will be some sort of Wilder effect or x factor in that state. The Wilder effect isn't going to be huge, but only a fool believes it will be nonexistent.

VOTE MCCAIN/PALIN!!!

"...peace is the highest aspiration of the American People. We will negotiate for it, sacrifice for it, we will never surrender for it, now or ever." President Ronald Reagan, January 20, 1981

Barack Lenin

Obama is a communist revolutionary trying to destroy our nation (because that‘s what communists do; they‘re whack jobs). On October 29, 2008, he told us how he intends to kill us: “We cannot continue to rely only on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives that we’ve set. We’ve got to have a civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well funded.”

http://littlegreenfootballs.com/article/31747_Obamas_Civilian_National_Security_Force#rss

Why do we need another military? Obama hates the military so his idea of national security objectives would never include the military he hates, but it would include a “security force” to fight the military that stands between him and total dictatorial power. Obama’s proposed Civilian National Security Force (CNSF) would be a clone of the communist Soviet Red Army that was used in the Russian civil war to destroy the existing non-communist Russian White Army, and over eight million civilians. The Red Army was led by the communist psychopath Trotsky, who opened the doors for the communists‘ dictatorships and their extermination camps for hundreds of millions around the world.

http://www.spartacus.schoolnet.co.uk/RUScivilwar.htm

Imagine someone like the communist terrorist Ayers, or members of the communist Wade Rathke’s ACORN or SEIU, or Barney Frank, or Rahm Emanuel, or Keith Olbermann, or Raila Odinga, or your local ACLU attorney, in charge of a nearby CNSF regiment. How long would you be safe?

The CNSF would likely be used to fight our existing military, after Obama had ordered them to disarm and disband -- which they would never do. Or Obama would try to unilaterally disarm us of nukes, as he has promised, and use Russian, Chinese, Cuban, Venezuelan, or Kenyan troops as his Red Army “peacekeepers.”

Nothing will ever be attempted if all possible objections must first be overcome. Samuel Johnson.

Fortune favors the brave. Publius Terence

The enemy has breached our gates.  Can you see them yet?  Talking's over; it's time to fight.

So what does this mean?

So what does this mean?  Either the MSM quit polling each other or some of them are starting to have doubts about the messiah.

Posting for a McCain/Palin Supporter

This is Barack Obama and proven, in your face, facts:

Drug use, marijuana and cocaine, admitted, actually bragged about it.

Jeremiah wright, racist and anti-American preacher and mentor of 20 years, named his book after his sermon, married them, etc. He called his remarks incendiary.

Black Liberation Thelogy, rooted in Marxism. This is his Christian credentials, which he wrote about in his book and has declared that he is a devout Christian.

Michael Pfleger and James Meeks, two other racist clergymen who he named, along with Wright, as his mentors.

William Ayers, domestic terrorist, member of Weather Underground that bombed American buildings as the pentagon and the capitol. Launched his political career in his home. Sat on boards with him, but said “oh, golly, gee, he was only a guy in the neighborhood.” Ayers wife, Bernadine, is a convicted felon. Convicted of refusing to testify in the case of the Brinks Robbery in which three people were killed.

Rezko and the home deal. Obama called it boneheaded.

Now he is saying he wants to spread the wealth around and expressing his belief that the Constitution has a fatal flaw and the founding fathers had a enormous blind spot - The Constitution he would be sworn to Preserve, Protect, and Defend.

There’s more, but this is enough. Any ONE of these should have disqualified him to even run for President, and the MSM had not been in his pocket, he would have been forced to drop out.

Anybody remember Gary Hart? Had to withdraw from the race over an extramarital affair.

Save America. Vote McCain/Palin "Think on These Things"

Here's something pretty

Here's something pretty interesting, relative to how the media has treated Obama as a god.  Just to briefly describe, here's Dan Rather critiquing how the runup to the Iraq War was not questioned hard enough by the media.  He thinks not enough questions were asked, that not enough tough questions were asked and if they were, they weren't answered and the discussion move on.  So, if it was supposedly a lesson learned, it certainly hasn't been applied.....to the Obama and his background, etc etc.  Interesting aint it?

http://www.truthout....

Non-italicized bold is mine....

In the wake of 9/11 and in the run-up to Iraq, these news
organizations made a decision - consciously or unconsciously, but
unquestionably in a climate of fear - to accept the overall narrative
frame
given them by the White House
(or today's case, the Obama campaign), a narrative that went like this: Saddam Hussein, brutal dictator, harbored weapons of mass destruction and, because of his supposed links to al Qaeda, this could not be tolerated in a post-9/11 world. (or, Barack Hussein Obama, with questionable ties to questionable characters, harbored redistributive tendencies, which, against a Republican opponent, have been praised with those asking questions of him, such as Joe the plumber, having been given the full body cavity exam of their personal lives, not because of the question, but because the Obama's answer was undesguised, having been accidentally and openly voiced.)

In the news and on the news, one could, to be sure, find
persons and views that did not agree with all or parts of this official
narrative
(or perhaps the Obama Messiah narrative). Hans Blix, the former U.N. chief weapons inspector, comes to mind as an example. But the burden of proof, implicitly or explicitly, was put on these dissenting views and persons... the burden of proof
was not put on an administration
(or the Obama, regarding birth certificate, college transcripts, etc) that was demonstrably moving towards a
large-scale military action that would represent a break with American
precedent and stated policy of how, when, and under what circumstances
this nation goes to war.

So with this in mind, we look back to the corner of our
screen where the White House Press Corps is asking their questions.  I have been a White House correspondent myself, and I have worked with
some of the best in the business. You have an incentive, when you are
in that briefing room, to ask the good, tough questions
: If nothing
else, that is how you get in the paper, or on the air. There is more to
it than that, and things have changed since I was a White House
correspondent - something I want to talk about in a minute. But the
correspondents - the really good ones - these correspondents ask their
tough questions.

And these questions are met with what is now called, euphemistically and much too kindly, what is now called "message
discipline."
(sounds like he could easily be referring to the Obama campaign)

Well, we used to have a better and more accurate term for "message discipline." We called it "stonewalling." (unless it's Obama, then it's just called a good answer) Now, cut back to your evening news, or your daily newspaper... where
that White House Correspondent dutifully repeats the question he asked
of the president or his press secretary, and dutifully relates the answer he was given - the same non-answer we've already heard dozens of
times, which amounts to a pitch for the administration's point of view
(or the Obama's point of view),
whether or NOT the answer had anything to do with the actual question
that was asked.

And then: "Thank you Jack. In other news today... ."

And we're off on a whole new story.  (something positive about Obama or negative about McCain of course)

Dreams of My Country

...dare we dream that this could happen? I know that I will go to the polls. I was even thinking about putting on my conductor's game day uniform (White Tie and Tails) in order to proudly cast my vote for president in what is still a free America. I must say that I have been pretty down over the past few days, but that is not going to keep me away from the polls. A couple of Obama guys rang my door bell earlier this after noon. I had a very nice polite conversation with them and explained that I am a libertarian. At first they gleefully responded with "Oh then you are voting for Bob Barr!" "No" I replied. "This election is too important for me to throw my vote away." I went on to explain in a very calm even way that I do not like Obama's tax plan, I do not like the way the "middle class" cut off keeps going down, from $250,000 to $200,000 to $150,000 and so forth. I went into great detail about all of the stuff we talk about here at this site. I said something close to the following: "If it were just Rev Wright I would not have that much of a problem with Obama, but it just goes on and on, Wright, Rezko, Ayeres, the tape with the LA times. There are too many things that Mr Obama wants to hide. If he would just relase that tape from the LA times, not a doctored Youtube tape, bu the entire tape in question, he could clear his name. But he just doesn't seem to want to do it. He comes off as too Nixonian for me!" Yup, with all due respect to Mark Levin I pulled the Milhouse card. These two guys, who were as calm and polite as I was, walked away saying: "Well thank you. It's nice to speak with an informed voter." I am not entirely sure but they did not seem all that surprised by my comments. Perhaps, just perhaps they are getting a lot of this in Nevada. Could it be that these polls have been manipulated by liberal billionaires and now things are changing back to normal? Yes I will vote, obviously for McCain/Palin, but I won't hope too hard.

Now Obami wants to create a "Civilian National Security Force"?  Well, I guess you just can't keep a good old fashioned fascist down can you?  The true Progressive is coming out of that big phony now.

This is for all of you useful idiots who vote for Obami. You get what you pay for man.  This is going to be one helluva four years.  Hell, I'm set.  I got no worries. But the young folks, now, that's a different story.

You think you have seen violence up to this point?  Put Obami in there and let him implement all of his programs.   When the lid blows off this pot I'll be laughing my ass off.  And I'll help the young folks anywhere or way I can.

Now, if Obami's truth squad that scans the internet for anything that's written negative about Obami reads this, which they do, come look me up. Please. You'll find I am not nearly as accomodating as Joe the plumber was.

2nd largest ethanol producer files for bankruptcy

This is very interesting, but it's being buried by election hype.  The nation's second largest producer of ethanol filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.  South Dakota based Verasun Energy says it's short of cash and is negotiating with lenders in hopes of continuing to operate.

And the irony here?  One major factor in Verasun's problems is the high price of corn which they themselves helped create.

Do you suppose if they'd eliminate the ethanol subsidies the industry would die off in short order?

Watching The Shining On A&E Now. West Coast Time.

You know the MSM bias is bad when even liberals admit it.  I was watching Fox News Watch today and Jane Hall and Kirsten Powers, both are fair minded liberals IMO, denounced the media.  Kirsten Powers, from the jump (A Total Hottie, BTW), decried the sexist attacks on Palin.  She's a TRUE feminist unlike NOW who only care about liberal women.

Hey I just saw that, forgot which poll, McCain leads by 3 in Missouri.  Whoever won Missouri has won the Presidency 25 out of the last 26 times!  Oh yeah, I heard of the Bradley Effect but, what's the Wilder Effect?

I'm telling you guys, The PUMA Factor is going to be huge.  I got this off of a PUMA blog.  It explains Senator Redistributor's plan so well, LOL.  You'll see. . .

BO’s distribution plan as written in a local paper:

“Today on my way to lunch I passed a homeless guy with a sign that read ‘Vote Obama, I need the money.’ I laughed.

Once in the restaurant I noticed my server had on an ‘Obama 08′ tie, again I laughed as he had given away his political preference–just imagine the coincidence.

When the bill came I decided not to tip the server and explained to him that I was exploring the Obama redistribution of wealth concept. He stood there in disbelief while I told him that I was going to redistribute his tip to someone who I deemed more in need–the homeless guy outside. The server angrily stormed from my sight.

I went outside, gave the homeless guy $10 and told him to thank the server inside as I’ve decided he could use the money more. The homeless guy was grateful.

At the end of my rather unscientific redistribution experiment I realized the homeless guy was grateful for the money he did not earn, but the waiter was pretty angry that I gave away the money he did earn even though the actual recipient ‘deserved’ money more.

I guess redistribution of wealth is an easier thing to swallow in concept than in practical application.”

"What do Barack Obama and Osama bin Laden have in common?  They both have friends who bombed the Pentagon." - Rush Limbaugh

redistribution for drinkers!!!

that's a good one!....here is an explanation i found near and dear to my heart.

Ten men go out for beer and the bill for all ten comes to $100. They decided to pay their bill the way we pay our taxes:

The first four men (the poorest) paid nothing.

The fifth paid $1.

The sixth paid $3.

The seventh paid $7.

The eighth paid $12.

The ninth paid $18.

The tenth man (the richest) paid $59.

The ten men drank in the bar every day and seemed quite happy with the arrangement, until one day, the owner threw them a curve. 'Since you are all such good customers', he said, 'I'm going to reduce the cost of your daily beer by $20. Drinks for the ten now cost just $80'.

The group still wanted to pay their bill the way we pay our taxes so the

first four men were unaffected. They would still drink for free. But what

about the other six men - the paying customers? How could they divide the

$20 windfall so that everyone would get his 'fair share?' They realized

that $20 divided by six is $3.33. But if they subtracted that from

everybody's share, then the fifth man and the sixth man would each end up

being paid to drink his beer. So, the bar owner suggested that it would be

fair to reduce each man's bill by roughly the same amount, and he

proceeded to work out the amounts each should pay.

And so:

The fifth man, like the first four, now paid nothing (100% savings).

The sixth now paid $2 instead of $3 (33%savings).

The seventh now paid $5 instead of $7 (28%savi ngs).

The eighth now paid $9 instead of $12 (25% savings).

The ninth now paid $14 instead of $18 (22% savings).

The tenth now paid $49 instead of $59 (16% savings).

Each of the six was better off than before. And the first four continued to drink for free. But once outside the restaurant, the men began to compare their savings.

'I only got a dollar out of the $20', declared the sixth man. He pointed to the tenth man,' but he got $10!'

'Yeah, that's right', exclaimed the fifth man. 'I only saved a dollar, too. It's unfair that he got ten times more than I!' 'That's true!!' shouted the seventh man. 'Why should he get $10 back when I got only two? The wealthy get all the breaks!'

'Wait a minute,' yelled the first four men in unison. 'We didn't get

anything at all. The system exploits the poor!'

The nine men surrounded the tenth and beat him up.

The next night the tenth man didn't show up for drinks, so the nine sat

down and had beers without him. But when it came time to pay the bill, they discovered something important. They didn't have enough money between all of them for even half of the bill!

And that is how our tax system works. The people who pay the highest taxes get the most benefit from a tax reduction. Tax them too much, attack them for being wealthy, and they just may not show up anymore. In fact, they might start drinking overseas where the atmosphere is somewhat friendlier.

For those who understand, no explanation is needed.

For those who do not understand, no explanation is possible

Ecclesiastes 10:2 The heart of the wise inclines to the right, but the heart of the fool to the left.

Yeah P-Boy, I Saw That One Already.

That was great.  Try explaining that to a liberal though, LOL.  It's like talking to a wall!  I was watching Hannity & Colmes(Skeletor) tonight.  Sean was debating Christine Pelosi, daughter of San Fran Nan, on who pays more taxes.  He asked her a simple question.  "What percentage of the income tax does the bottom 50% of wage earners pay?"  She went into the usual liberal talking points.  Then he asked, "What percentage does the top 10% of wage earners pay?"  Same talking points.  Rich pays too less, poor pays too much.

"What do Barack Obama and Osama bin Laden have in common?  They both have friends who bombed the Pentagon." - Rush Limbaugh

amen asia!

i've seen her....she is a great caricature of leftiness!  i think they are that way because they don't rely produce anything.  they manage to make a living doing nothing.  and even if by some miracle they do make enough to end up paying more taxes...they don't care...it actually eases their guilty consciences.

Ecclesiastes 10:2 The heart of the wise inclines to the right, but the heart of the fool to the left.

Love That Tagline, LOL. So True.

The Biden's made 2 million last year.  They donated $3,600.  I guess they aren't that "patriotic" after all.  The Obama's donated less than 1% of their annual income until a couple of years ago.  The McCain's and the Palin's, on the other hand, have consistently been generous with their earnings.  Who really cares, huh?  Virtue of selfishness, huh?

There's a great book out there called, Who Really Gives.  It's about who's more charitable, Dems or Reps.  It was written by a liberal who thought liberals were more generous.  He found out that, by a wide margin, church going reps donated far more than their counterparts.  The reason being that libs believe that government should take care of the poor.  So they donate less.  Reps believe that private charities, not government, should take care of the poor.  So they donate more.
