For general discussion and debate. Possible talking point: ACORN.
Investigators probing ACORN have learned that an Ohio man registered to vote several times and cast a bogus ballot with a fake address, officials said yesterday, as they revealed that nearly 4,000 registration applications supplied by the left-leaning activist group were suspect.
No matter what Obama says, he's had ties to this disgusting organization for years. Will media ever jump on this bandwagon and aggressively report what this group is illegally doing in battleground states around the country? Will this issue have any impact on the elections? Or will the Obama-loving press be able to keep this from the public long enough to get him into the White House?

October 14, 2008 - 09:03 ET by CapitalismRulesI know my dire posts continue to have a rather hopeless tone, but I keep these up for a reason. Obama is a pure socialist, his ties to terrorists, religious hate-mongers, criminal activists, racists circles, shady businessmen, failed bank execs and freedom-loathing anti-democratic community groups have been swept clean by his mouthpiece of mass communication who will do his every bidding, smear his opponents and crush all opposition. ACORN is out to steal the election
October 14, 2008 - 09:09 ET by c5thenIn 2000 they saw that in a close election, you can't count on the lawyers to try and steal it after the fact. Now ACORN has decided that since Florida was decided by roughly 500 votes, that they will attempt to add an additional 1000 votes for Obama in all the battle ground states to insure that he wins.
The multiple registrations are bad enough, but the real kicker is how many are for different addresses. That way you can vote multiple times at different polling places and it's much harder to catch (without ID checks). It's also another reason why transportation to polling places is so important to democrats. When you have to go vote at 4 or 5 different polling places all in one day, it's really hard to do on public transportation. Better to have van pools lined up at the election HQ and use that as the hub for everyone.
Fake ID?
October 14, 2008 - 09:36 ET by XJ.JonThought I would throw this out there too.
For those polling places that do check ID's, does anyone think that there may be more fake ID's being produced right now? If they are registering fake voters, why not back them up with fake ID's. If the gov't put as much effort into checking for voter fraud, and possibly, fake id's at the polls, as they do on their fight against underage drinking, I would feel a lot safer about this election.

Here's How the Scam Works
October 14, 2008 - 10:26 ET by CaringwhiteguyAll the Mickey Mouse and Dallas Cowboy roster goofiness is mostly fluff. The key to pulling off the scam is getting a name on the voter registration list.
ACORN registrars turn in phoney names they attest are real (like John Jones, 123 Main Street). Of course John Jones does not exist. On election day in states not requiring voter ID (like Wisconsin) someone just shows up and says he's John Jones, no ID needed, no questions asked. Ballot cast and "John Jones" disappears. And obviously there's no way to track which candidate "Jones" voted for. "John Jones" can then go to the next precinct where he's registered as "John Smith of 321 Third St.", get a ballot without showing an ID, cast it and disappear. Again, no questions asked.
Just one marginally talented ACORN volunteer can cast quite a few ballots for the "Chosen One".

October 14, 2008 - 09:11 ET by bschoomEven though the MSM will never make this an issue, because they wink amongst themselves about it, Acorn and other organazations manipulating voter registration processes have to be stopped.
Acorn organizers see how simple it is to fullfill their goals and then lay claim it's all a mistake and misunderstanding, while all along intentionally hoping to get as many fraudulent votes as possible.
Regardless of the candidate, (but especially because it's left leaning), this process has to have some sort of penalties. No excuses allowed.

The problem is that the 40% who don't pay taxes agree
October 14, 2008 - 10:01 ET by c5thenThese are the folks who have no tax liability but get a refund because of the Earned Income Credit. They got the stimulus payment and now Obama is promising them a $500 check as a "tax cut" in his plan. He will pay for that 'tax cut' by taking the money from the 10% of the population who make $250,000 or up.
So roughly he is going to take $2000 from 10 million people so he can give a $500 check to 40 million people. It's wrong and it violates the 14th amendment.
It's the same idea that the "Bail-out plan" or "Rescue" plan is based on. The banks made bad investments that turned out to have gone WAY doen in value. That has caused their capital on the books to go lower and thus their reserves and so are not allowed to loan as much money as they'd like (Rules of fractional reserve banking system). As a result, the government is taking the taxpayers money and giving that to the banks to 're-capitalize' so they can start lending out more money. They only need 10% reserves so they can lend out 9x what they have classified as reserves. It's rewarding bad business decisions and in some cases out right fraud.

October 14, 2008 - 10:21 ET by BlondeNot only that....he's lying (through his teeth) by omission.
HE won't raise taxes, which will allow the Bush tax cuts to expire....a de facto increase for many tax payers, but Bambi won't technically "do" it.

The man is a socialist/borderline commie. That little video I posted proves it to anyone with half a brain (guess that eliminates the moonbats & a$$hats). I can't believe the all-knowing One was stupid enough to actually say it though..."spread the wealth" to those behind you.

The turning point
October 14, 2008 - 10:22 ET by retroconThe turning point for a population to go all the way socialist is when 51% of the voting population falls into two categories: 1) the elites who will rule; 2) those who receive most of their living through government entitlement.
Once those who fit "to each according to his need" become the majority, of course they will vote to take more "from each according their ability." Why be a giver when it's much easier to be a taker. Of course, eventually, there are more takers than givers, which is the inescapable conclusion to socialism. Once you reach the point of deminishing returns, the government has to introduce forced labor management and incorporate slavery back into the environment.
I think we're almost there.

October 14, 2008 - 19:46 ET by Carl Kolchak"I believe Patton thought Montgomery was a total shit. And the sentiment was reciprocated fully."
That's what made Eisenhowser so great in my opinion. He had to control all of the egos and manage the war effort effectively. When Omar Bradley didn't know what was going on with the Ardennes Offensive or Battle of the Bulge, Eisenhowser put Patton in charge and Patton knew how to react and the Allies were victorious.
"Soldiers, Sailors and Airmen of the Allied Expeditionary Force!

In company with our brave Allies and brothers-in-arms on

Europe, and security for ourselves in a free world.
Your task will not be an easy one. Your enemy is well trained, well
equipped and battle hardened. He will fight savagely.
But this is the year 1944! Much has happened since the Nazi triumphs of
1940-41. The United Nations have inflicted upon the Germans great defeats,
in open battle, man-to-man. Our air offensive has seriously reduced their
strength in the air and their capacity to wage war on the ground. Our Home
Fronts have given us an overwhelming superiority in weapons and munitions
of war, and placed at our disposal great reserves of trained fighting men.
The tide has turned! The free men of the world are marching together to
Victory!
I have full confidence in your courage and devotion to duty and skill in
battle. We will accept nothing less than full Victory!
Good luck! And let us beseech the blessing of Almighty God upon this great

If our government gets any bigger, socialism is going to be inevitable. With Obama, it seems like an accelerated route to socialism, maybe marxism.
We need to get back to the fundamentals of smaller, widespread government (power back to the states and the people!) before we can really start fixing problems. The Federal government shouldn't be naming streets when were fighting a war, having an economic crisis, and all the other REAL issues they need to deal with.
Let the states decide on local issues. Let the counties name the roads. Make D.C. work on real issues, and hold them accountable to the people.

my dog horribly." Beberg, 28, is scheduled to return to the U.S. next
month.
Ratchet's defenders are ratcheting up their efforts to save him. On
Monday, the program coordinator for Operation Baghdad Pups, which is
run by Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals International, left for a trip to the Middle East to try to get the puppy to the U.S.
And last week, Beberg's congressman, Democrat Keith Ellison, wrote to the Army urging it to review the case.
Beberg and another soldier rescued the puppy from a burning pile of
trash back in May. Defense Department rules prohibit soldiers in the U.S. Central Command, which includes Iraq, from adopting pets,
but exceptions have been made. Operation Baghdad Pups says it has
gotten 50 dogs and six cats transferred to the U.S. in the last eight
months.
"I'm coping reasonably well because I refuse to believe that Ratchet
has been hurt," Beberg wrote in the e-mail to her mother, Patricia
Beberg. "If I find out that he was killed though — well, we just won't
entertain that possibility."
The mother said her daughter sent another e-mail saying that she confirmed that the dog was still alive and doing OK.
Operation Baghdad Pups' program coordinator, Terry Crisp, is scheduled to arrive in Baghdad on Wednesday. Crisp said the adopted dogs left behind face death on Iraqi streets.
She said Iraqis view dogs and cats as nuisances and carriers of disease, and U.S. soldiers have rescued many of them from abuse.
To all of those that claim to support the troops, here's a chance to put your money where your mouth is. You talk the talk, now walk the walk. A U.S. soldier needs your help.
I think signing this petition is the least we can do for someone that is defending our freedom.
Support the troops, sign the petition.

Voter Registration
October 14, 2008 - 10:56 ET by ricklailBefore summer break there was a group at the high school where my wife works registering voters. At that time she told me they had registered some of her sutdents. She works in the ECP program. Most those in her class cannot use the bathroom. Yet they were registered to vote. One of them is so bad off that he is legally blind, wears a diaper and keep his hands run down his pants playing with his-you know what. He is going to be able to vote by himself? I wrote my local elections board challenging his registration but have yet to hear back from them. Should someone like this be allowed to vote?

How libs take our rights...
October 14, 2008 - 11:07 ET by retroconIf anyone has doubts that Libs are destroying our country, here are the facts about liberal policies and actions over the last 30 years. Each is a liberal belief or action, followed by the part of the constitution that they are violating or destroying.
Every time the libs cast illegal votes, they take away one of our votes - Various Articles of the Constitution & 14 and 15 amendments.
Fairness doctrine, and the liberal dictated "separation of church and state" - First Amendment
Massive gun laws, including Brady Bill - Second Amendment
Waco, Ruby Ridge, and little Cuban kid and others - Forth Amendment (search and seizure)
The liberal justices New London decision (eminent domain) and again, Waco and Ruby Ridge - Fifth Amendment (trial and punishment, compensation for takings).
Massive regulation, coercive taxation, welfare, and other oppressive laws - Ninth Amendment (enumeration of rights not denying others of the people)
Regulating education, ecology, fuel, and other things that states are responsible for - Tenth Amendment.
Illegal immigration - Article 4, Section 4 "The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government, and shall protect each of them against Invasion"
We really don't have a constitution anymore, do we?

PTA
October 14, 2008 - 12:28 ET by ricklailNoel I know that you have to sell ads to survive but the PTA? Their agenda is very near the NEA's. When I ran for school board in '94 they put out all kinds of false information on me. Like I was going to have al computers ripped out of schools.

Example of why I hate liberalism
October 14, 2008 - 13:57 ET by LionKingIf you can read this WND story and not hate liberalism, then I would suggest that you hate the Constitution.

Obama's International Election Fraud
October 14, 2008 - 15:34 ET by Lame CherryAccording to the law of the United States, and each state of the United States, a voter must be a RESIDENT of that state for a certain period of time.
CBS recently had an old nun who had not voted since Eisenhower ramped up for a propaganda piece (How did they find this woman hidden away for 50 years?) in stating she is going to vote for Obama.
Sorry people, but how is some citizen of the Vatican, the Vatican is a nation state, who has not been a resident of any state or territory in the United States legally casting a vote?
I have no problem with Soldiers or government officials who are doing their required duty in voting while on station, but there is something very wrong with someone who has not been in the United States living in Austria, Hungary, Vatican City, China etc.... for 40 years in not being a citizen, not owning or renting a residence and not paying one dime in US or state taxes, and yet they are afforded a privilege to vote in national and state elections.
I in no way am saying these non residents should loose their citizenship, but there must be a discussion in just why is it that a state like Nebraska which is not that wealthy has to print up, pay postage and use extra vote counters to count up ballots for people who haven't set foot in the United States for decades.
None of us can just show up in another state and vote. None of us can legally ask for example New York to send us a ballot, because we would prefer to vote in their state instead of like Ohio.
So why do people who are secure financia
