Media Research Center President and NewsBusters Publisher L. Brent Bozell, III appeared this morning on the Fox News Channel's Fox & Friends to discuss the media's nearly unanimous acclamation of Illinois Senator Barack Obama as the winner of last Friday's Presidential debate.
Mr. Bozell noted one of the few press exceptions, Newsweek, who gave the nod to Arizona Senator John McCain, but pointed out that they then said of the win, "Who cares?"
Mr. Bozell also discussed Sen. Obama's continuing to wear and discuss the bracelet of fallen soldier Sgt. Ryan David Jopek, and how his family has been asking since at least March that he stop doing so. Mr. Bozell pointed out that if the tables were turned, and it was Sen. McCain refusing the repeated requests of the family of KIA Cpl. Matthew Stanley, whose bracelet he wears with their continued blessing, the media would be apoplectic.

bias
September 29, 2008 - 12:09 ET by arkansaszippersHe should have called out people at Fox News for being biased, too.
Since when is a tie a win?
September 29, 2008 - 11:52 ET by MeanderingWhat is this Chinese Gymnastics or something? I don't think either one did all that well during the debate. Both flubbed up questions about the economy and couldn't answer the actual questions being asked. Then came foriegn policy and McCain FINALLY showed some emotion and got into the game, but by then it was too late to pull out a victory so its was a tie. I called it a wash. By the hour mark I was sick of listening to both of them bicker about points that I don't think the American people believed they would accomplish in office, so what's the point?
Exactly
September 29, 2008 - 11:54 ET by arkansaszippersAmen to that.

September 29, 2008 - 12:07 ET by SeashellI was truly upset with some of the commentary afterward regarding McCain . Some said that he was "rigid and stiff". He is rigid and stiff--it's called WAR WOUNDS!!

September 29, 2008 - 12:14 ET by bigtimerGreat summary of all of the spin, spin, spin by the leftist msm after the debate...
I loved the twiddle-dee, twiddle-dumber reference over on msnbc...that was priceless Mr. Bozell...I'm still laughing!
Plus of course the plug for MRC and NBs...goes without saying.

THE Pattern
September 29, 2008 - 12:23 ET by Gat New YorkIf you looked at the IMMEDIATE instant polls right after the debate (Drudge, Fox, AOL) McCain won by a margin of 3:1.
So why are the current polls reflecting a different outcome?
During the past few days 85% of MSM have been intentionally deceiving their readers by igoring all the gaffes and lies by Obama and focusing on distorted views of what actually happened. People therefore believe what they read.
As I have said, McCain not only has to try and defeat Obama, he also has to defeat the MSM propaganda machine.
wow
September 29, 2008 - 12:44 ET by arkansaszippersIf you seriously believe that, then maybe you only believe what you read.

September 29, 2008 - 13:12 ET by arkansaszippersGood one. You totally made your point there - I'll bet you were on the high school debate team. It shows.
Debate
September 29, 2008 - 12:39 ET by SDSif Obama just stood there with a blank stare on his face and drool dripping down his chin, and McCain repeated verbatim the encyclopedia Britannica’s version of US foreign policy, the MSM would have said Obama won.
