Ronald Reagan, 1962: I did not leave the Democratic party, the party left me.
Insert: your name, 2008, and the Republican party.
McCain understands the world, Obama understands how to stutter.
September 26, 2008 - 23:19 ET by wdhorningRegardless of bracelets, it was significant what the two said about the soldier's mothers.
Obama (paraphrase): "this soldier's mother wanted no more wars so no more mothers have to suffer"
McCain (paraphrase): "this soldier's mother wanted her son's death to not be in vain"
We all want a world without war. However, this is not the present reality or a reality in the near future.
There are hardened criminals and all the parental assistance, economic assistance, public service announcements and all the appeals to criminals is not going stop criminals, thus a police force is required. Likewise, all the diplomacy in the world is not going to stop rogue states and rogue organizations from waging war against us and our friends around the world, thus a military force is required.
The thing Democrats and the thing Obama does not seem to understand is that, yes, we would like to honor the mother's wish that no other mother goes what she went through in losing her son, but it is not our fault that more sons and daughters will die in wars.
IT IS THE FAULT OF REALLY EVIL PEOPLE IN EVIL COUNTRIES. AND IT IS NOT U.S. POLICIES THAT MAKE THEM ROGUE. Eight years with Clinton and eight years of Bush have proven this. There were numerous attacks in the US and abroad against our interests under Clinton, and under Bush there were similar attacks too, proving it is not for liberal politics or conservative politics that made the U.S. its enemies, but rather the enemies are enemies for their own evil reasos (hy-jacked religion, dictatorial ambitions, greed, and yes, some do just for the fun of it, in a manner of speaking, that is, power mongering).
In any case, it is better, when we have no choice, but to try to make the deaths of our sons and daughters not be for nought, than to be defeated by our enemies.
So McCain undertands the world, as it is, and has made the promise that his mother's sons death will not be in vain.Obama lives in "fantasy land", as also proven by his naive approaches to dealing with world leaders, both friendly and unfriendly.
Obama said that he will work for more sanctions out of the UN, but China and Russia have security council vetos and have already nixed futher sanctions against Iran, so Obama does not understand how the UN works or how to deal with Iran.
The next president of the USA may have to ask Congress for authority to attack Iran. In such a case, Obama will sit down and piss in his pants, but McCain will stand up and piss on the enemy. McCain's solution for Iran is to get leverage against Iran by making, not just Afghanistan as our partner, but Iraq and other countries in the regions. This can bring pressure on Iran. And that is why staying in Iraq until their is not only military country by Iraqs leaders, but also political control that remains Democratic.

September 26, 2008 - 23:13 ET by JoelCTThat's not bias as I see it. Albright is a Democrat, admits to being a liberal, and is proud to be a leftist. Anything she says is going to be way skewed left and we expect it.

McCain taught me something about the presidency
September 26, 2008 - 23:09 ET by KC MulvilleIn the beginning, Obama made the vacuous point that this bailout was the result of years of trickle-down economics, and that he had "informed" the Treasury secretary that there might be a crisis coming, way back in the spring. McCain made the point that he and many others had been seeing this coming for years. At that point, I was screaming at the TV for McCain to remind the country that the GOP had been trying for years to regulate Fannie Mae, only to have the Democrats undermine their efforts. But McCain wouldn't pull the trigger, and I was screaming.
I don't care how the focus groups respond, or how the polls respond. That was how a president behaves. Good for him.

Mark Levin Blasts Bill O’Reilly for Attacking Conservative Talk Radio
Friday, September 26, 2008 By Pete Winn, Senior Writer/Editor
(CNSNews.com) - Conservative radio host Mark Levin fired back at Bill O’Reilly Thursday evening after O’Reilly delivered a blistering diatribe on his own radio program earlier in the day, attacking conservative talk radio hosts for opposing a $700 billion bailout for the financial industry and calling them “idiots,” “charlatans,” and “right-wing liars.” “What a buffoon,” Levin said of O’Reilly, host of Fox News’ "The O’Reilly Factor.” “He doesn’t want to talk about socialism. He doesn’t want to talk about the beginnings of this scandal. No. The same guy who claims to have led the boycott against France that forced France to do whatever France was supposed to do. What a joke. What a moron. He doesn’t understand. He is Ted Baxter.” On his own program, O’Reilly initially threw some bricks at conservative talk radio in general. “It gets me angry,” said O’Reilly. “I do talk radio and most talk radio is conservative-dominated ideologues; Kool-Aid drinking idiots. Idiots. Screaming at you that this is socialism, this is this, this is that. ‘It’s Clinton’s fault.’ It’s Clinton’s fault? He hasn’t been in office in 8 years. It’s Bush’s fault! It happened under Bush’s watch.” But then O’Reilly’s tirade seemed to aim at Rush Limbaugh—without actually naming him. “But let’s get back to this talk radio stuff,” said O’Reilly. “These idiots. I mean, they’re misleading you. They’re lying to you. They’re rich, these guys. Big cigars. All of that. ‘Yeah, oh yeah, my private jet!’ And they’re saying, ‘Oh, no! No bail out!’ Uh, uh, no way! “Hey! You’re going to get it, not them!” O’Reilly continued. “That foreign investment pulls out, we are toast! And they’ll pull out if this bailout doesn’t happen. Are you getting the message here? Walk away from these liars, these right-wing liars. Walk away from them! They’re not looking out for you.” On his show later Thursday, Levin responded to O’Reilly by name in a “take-no-prisoners” electronic version of the shootout at the OK Corral. Levin started by noting the research he, Limbaugh and Sean Hannity do for their daily programs. “If you’re going to be an intelligent observer and commentator, whether on radio or TV, you need to take the time to educate yourself, if you’re not already educated, about all the issues that come before you each day,” said Levin. “You need to take the time to research them, and you have to call them as you see them. This is what I do each and every day. “This is what Rush does each and every day. This is what Sean does each and every day. And so many other great talk show hosts,” said Levin. “And I’m not talking to some of you backbenchers, and you know who I mean,” said Levin. “These blowhards. You get arrogant, stupid people who get paid a lot of money to be on radio and TV to be arrogant and stupid. And one of them, one of them is on the Fox News Channel, my favorite cable channel. And he has a fledgling radio show that has no ratings, and he’ll be off radio soon because he’s a failure. It’s the non-factor: Bill O’Reilly.” Levin, who serves as president of the Landmark Legal Foundation when he is not on the air, described O’Reilly, who graduated from Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government, as being “utterly unencumbered with information.” “And he is no conservative,” said Levin. “He’s another mainstream, moron, phony journalist. That’s what he is. And, oh, jealous like hell of Rush Limbaugh. Did you notice that? The cigar and the airplane? Let me tell you something else, jerk. You can’t hold a candle to him.” CNSNews.com has placed an interview request with O’Reilly’s publicist, which has not been answered. Levin, meanwhile, declined to elaborate on his comments.
Rick Pearcey and David Kearl contributed to this report.

ConservaChick at 11:39 PM - September 26, 2008 Mark Levin is brilliant and is far more educated on this subject than O'Reilly can ever hope to be. O'Reilly is adding to the panic that is going to lead up to this sham of a bailout. Bush is just throwing up his hands and once again giving into the leftists who have CREATED this problem via their misguided attempts at a socially engineered economy. I am sorely disappointed that McCain didn't lambaste Barney Frank tonight when Obama was trying to blame the Republicans for the housing/banking crisis. Ridiculous. Levin, keep up the good work and thank God for YOU. O'Reilly shut your mouth until you become more knowlegeable on this subject. Looking out for the people. Please. He isn't looking out for us when he condones strapping 700 billion dollars in debt on the backs of our children so that millions of people can stay in homes they can't afford and or walk away from mortgages they took out irresponsibly or were given irresponsibly. Enough is enough already!

Meanwhile my politics hating but America loving wife from the Middle East (we are horribly diverse in our home!) thought that McCain won the debate in terms of logical arguments, but made one key mistake.
His obvious dislike for former street agitator Barry O showed in that he refused to look directly at him wheras Obama forced himself to look at McCain.
Now see I can't look at Obama either so I didn't think about that part, but my wife made a good point. Next time McCain needs to look at Barry more, and say "there you go again" like Reagan.

I enjoyed McCain ignoring
September 27, 2008 - 12:23 ET by stratmanI enjoyed McCain ignoring Obama.
Who wants to look at a gnat? Just shoo him away.
Not looking at Barry was an intimidation ploy, and it helped put The Big Zero on the defensive. Barry was playing catchup and chasing the coattails of the old man, and I use "old man" in a positive fashion.
From a psychological point of view, Obama's main weakness is his abandonement by his father, a man who was quite controlling, stern, bitter and remote. Barry has focused his life into finding out who he is and has attempted to define himself by the father that was never there. He has constructed himself on someone else's historical record and the memories of those that knew his father, innacuracies and all. McCain was applying a little PsyOps he's learned in life, some/much from his captors at the Hanoi Hilton, and maybe from a campaign advisor. It doesn't hurt that McCain may dislike Obama for the phony he is too. So, the ignoring thing is part of the tactics of McCain, not a McCain character flaw.
There will be a moment where McCain will look the empty suit in his oversized collar and school him definitively, just the way you want.
Have patience. McCain is a marathoner, not a sprinter.

It takes the few small points Obama scored and makes them the main points of the story about the debate. The story manages to point out McCain's age and also exactly how many interviews Sarah Palin has done. I thought Senator McCain
September 27, 2008 - 00:12 ET by jdhawkI thought Senator McCain did a great job. He was masterful in the realm of foreign affairs. He was walking circles around bambi (aka problem: high gas prices; solution: tune up and inflate tires; next).
The issue of the emphasis on Iraq or Afghanistan was explained well by McCain. bambi spent a lot of his debate time defending his past naive remarks which included is fool rant about bombing our Pakistani ally. Another example was bambi's initial remarks regarding Georgia when that issue erupted.
In regards to tax cuts and health care, Senator McCain needs to really articulate the conservative stance on this. Taxes on high wage earners is exorbitant already and rose 2% over the last eight years despite President Bush's tax cuts. Presenlty, 1% of the population pays 39% of all taxes; 50% of the population pays 86% of the taxes. The bottom half pay no taxes and 40% of them get money back. McCain should remind voters that health care is already 50% run by the government and they are doing a poor job of that - no surprise.
Meanwhile, Senator McCain did explain the value of tax cuts to businesses. I think he was able to make the connection that lowering not raising taxes on business keeps jobs here in America.
Again, overall, Senator McCain trounced the dimocrat from Chicago.

Eveeeel, right-wing
September 27, 2008 - 07:08 ET by Roger the ShrubberEveeeel, right-wing Mellon-Scaife Neocon mouthpiece gets it right:
"It is not necessary to understand things in order to argue about them," wrote French playwright Caron de Beaumarchais in "The Barber of Seville." Barack Obama bore an uncanny resemblance to that remark Friday night in the first presidential debate with John McCain.
The often stammering Democrat nominee showed yet again -- to borrow a phrase he filched from Hollywood -- that he doesn't get it, especially when it comes to matters economic.
Sen. Obama seemed to blame the current financial crisis primarily on some mythical Republican ideology "that regulation is always bad." And in the World According to Barack, no economic policies predating the Bush administration could possibly have contributed to the implosion.
The junior senator of Illinois also endlessly played the class-warfare card, oddly implying that the investment needed to create jobs -- an investment climate that his policies would kill -- somehow comes from the "bottom up," not the top down.
And Sen. Obama repeatedly misrepresented his proposed massive tax increases as tax cuts for virtually all. It's a neat trick that is political charlatanism at its worst.
Throw in his bumbling, stumbling and naivete on national security and foreign policy and Barack Obama came across last night as exactly what he is -- one of the most inexperienced politicians ever nominated for president.
And John McCain never looked more presidential.
Obama's Economic Experience?

Everyone should watch this video, and pass it around it needs to go viral. When I watched the debates last night, I had watched this video earlier it made me view the debates in a whole new light. The MSM reporting what has happening with Wallstreet right now but they are not reporting on how we got there. Why is that? Well a bunch of those networks are in the tank for Obama. What you are not being told and why.
