This just in from the Associated Press (video embedded right):
Former President Clinton shared sandwiches at his office in Harlem with Barack Obama on Thursday and predicted that the Democrat will win the presidential race "pretty handily."...Obama said, "We're putting him to work." Asked if he would be doing more, Clinton said, "I've agreed to do a substantial number of things, whatever I'm asked to do."
Who do you think this is good news for: Obama, McCain, or...Hillary?

It's good news for Obama
September 11, 2008 - 16:23 ET by ThisnThatIt's good news for Obama only if he has convinced Clinton to go to the dark reaches of Africa for the next 8 weeks; no phones; no interviews; no blackberry; no return.
Otherwise, it's good for at least a couple of points for McCain.

September 11, 2008 - 21:51 ET by JudithIf Obama dumps Joe and takes in Hill, then it will be a 3-way presidency with Obama being the water "boy".
Really?
September 11, 2008 - 16:29 ET by MeanderingIf I remember right Clinton is still an adulterer and a pretty mediocre president. The only people who hold him in esteem are Democrats so I really don't know how this is suppose to help Obama. I say its a wash. Too much talk about McCain and especially Palin right now. Nobody cares what Obama is doing or the people who are campaigning for him.

Not sure. However, after seeing how the former horndog-in-chief hurt Hillary's campaign, once again this should cause Americans to question Obama's judgement.
Who is it good news for?
September 11, 2008 - 16:37 ET by MrSnugglesWho is it good news for? Well, this got me thinking about Biden's comments about how Hillary is a "close personal friend". Is it possible that Biden is throwing this election to help out his "close personal friend" Hillary?
Focus on Bill Not Obama?
September 11, 2008 - 16:41 ET by GothampcWhat was the cost to Obama to get Bill on board?
I don't know what Bill can do other than get the media focused on himself rather than Obama. Maybe that's the plan, focus on Bill not Obama.
Obama is probably thinking "Well Al Gore turned his back on Bill's help and lost, so I'll have Bill help me and I'll win."
What a guy, huh?

I hate to admit it, but that scenario has crossed my mind too...than again, you would think Hillary would kill him, let alone all the controversy that would never stop....seems I have read he has been involved with another woman from...hmmmm...where was that...oh yeah...Canada...of course that has slipped off the pages too, kinda like the Edwards scandal...lol.
Seriously though, I did think about it for a few seconds, then thought, nah...even the Clintons aren't that stupid.
Who knows...I love this soap-opera, let alone the comedy value that the dems party has turned into.

bt, it is a great show, for sure
September 11, 2008 - 19:05 ET by Indiana JoeBut, I think Bill is more likely to sabotage BO. If Obama wins this time, I can't see a scenario where Hillary gets him dumped in '12 as a sitting president. Even if Bill tries to actually help, I think he hurts. Look how much good he did Hillary.
An Obama win pushes Hillary four years back in her quest. I don't think she'll accept that easily.
If I was BO, I'd want to stay as far from the Clintons as I could. And I wouldn't turn my back on them.

September 12, 2008 - 08:24 ET by tomnkikiThe Clinton's may not be that stupid, but they are that Power-hungry. They believe that only the Clintons should be in control of the country, and only they can do the best job of running it. Hmmm...haven't they heard we don't care for Dicktators in this country? Time to unseat a few of them, including the Obomination.
Bill Clinton for VP
September 11, 2008 - 21:46 ET by ClintACKAck. I was going to point out that he couldn't, since he's constitutionally ineligible to be President. Then I went back and read the amendment in question (the 22nd) and it just says that he's ineligible to be elected President. This would definitely have to go to the Supreme Court. (Just what we need... again.)
He'd never go for being second banana -- but in principle, it's his best shot at being President again.

September 11, 2008 - 17:32 ET by LorraineI got an email from my Dad this morning on this. His words: " Something sneaky is going on". I agree.
What though, hmmm. I think it shows how desparate Obama is, having to go back to one of his main enemies for help. And meeting with Bill without Hillary strikes me as pretty sexist. Are they arranging for her to take Biden's place? Then why wasn't she there?
And if Bill starts campaigning for Obama, how is he going to get past all of the negative things he said about him before?
I'm not so sure Bill as VP is all that far-fetched. Both Obama and Clinton are power-hungry, I can see them doing it. I don't know if they could win with it though.
As for McCain, all of the talk is STILL Palin. Palin's kid shipping out, Palin's interview, the pig thing, constant interviews with anyone who knows her in Alaska, etc. Blogs and letters and video, it goes on and on. What can Obama do to draw the attention back to himself? It would have to be pretty radical.
It's sure turned into an interesting campaign season.

Obama has no idea what to do! He's flopping around like a chicken with it's head cut off! Scrambling madly to try to save his "shoo-in" election. His carefully crafted image is being exposed as the hollow statue that it is.
He has the depth of a rain-puddle, and it's showing. More and more, it's showing.
