"The idea to make these guys [Keith Olbermann and Chris Matthews] news anchors, I don't know who came up with this idea. It's sort of like people who believe if you add water you get sea monkeys. It just doesn't make any sense that you can add water and make an objective news anchor," NewsBusters Senior Editor Tim Graham quipped on the September 9 "Fox & Friends" program. [audio version here]
Graham questioned in particular the notion that Olbermann once told President Bush "to shut the hell up" on his "Countdown" program.
Co-host Brian Kilmeade asked the MRC's Director of Media Analysis if MSNBC's decision to remove Olbermann and Matthews as co-anchors of election coverage was too little too late:
KILMEADE: But, Tim, is the damage done already? I mean, look, we're almost done with this thing. [There are] 57 days left [until the election].
GRAHAM: Not only is the damage already done, the damage continues. Not only are they keeping these people on for an hour a night, they're adding this lesbian Air America radio host Rachel Maddow on every night. So I mean they're really entrenching and solidifying a left-wing agenda on this network, not just, you know, pulling something back.

Sea Monkeys?
September 9, 2008 - 12:27 ET by BlondeThat is great! I mean, just the thought of sea monkeys....and then of course, the best part:
I shall henceforth and forevermore call Olbermann & Matthews "sea monkeys". Seriously, those two have the collective IQ of a single, solitary brine shrimp.
Thanks, Tim.
Excellent work...on National TV, too.

Yes...but the RNC needs to
September 9, 2008 - 14:05 ET by bradbenj5952Yes...but the RNC needs to keep hammering home the point. Stay on the offensive regarding the MSM and America will get behind them as never before. They need to drop all pretense of conciliation just as the lefty MSM has dropped all pretense of objectivity. Take an example from good ol' Newt and start questioning back at the left's reporters regarding the premises of their silly questions. More Republican politicians could use more Newtification.

September 9, 2008 - 12:35 ET by KimnotaNice timing for the interview. Kilmeade mentioned there's 57 days left until the election. That's one day for each of the states Obama's campaigned.
Perhaps Obama counts states
September 9, 2008 - 14:08 ET by bradbenj5952Perhaps Obama counts states like the left counts voters; one for you...two for me!

Is this Sleight of Hand by MSNBC?
September 9, 2008 - 12:39 ET by allanfUnless MSNBC plans to wrap debate coverage with hours of commentary, campaign coverage is all but over, save for election night.
Is it possible that by election night, Olbermann and Matthews will be back in the chair all rehabilitated?
Tim, after mixing up
September 9, 2008 - 13:19 ET by motherbeltTim, after mixing up Olbermann and Obama, you later said "Keith Matthews" before you caught yourself, which I thought was funny. I was waiting for you to say "I can't tell those two apart either!"
Great job!

Sea Monkeys was so great, I
September 9, 2008 - 13:34 ET by SickofLibsSea Monkeys was so great, I submitted the definition to urbandictionary.com:
Sea Monkeys: The Dynamic Duo of Olbermann and Matthews. Just add water to a hack pundit, and watch them sprout into tiny journalists.
Example in use: The Sea Monkeys just got the boot as anchors of MSNBC's political coverage.

Time to Freeze MSNBC out
September 10, 2008 - 11:55 ET by buzzbeeAll Republicans should refuse to appear on anything on AMESSNBC. The network has an agenda. They are not going to attempt to be objective. There is no reason for any Republican to appear on their network.
It is really interesting to compare the nightly line up on Fox News to AMESSNBC. Amazing how they have basically 3 hours of shows that are unabashedly democratic talking point driven. This must be what the liberals who never watched Fox News thought it must be like.
