ST. PAUL, Minn.-- Gov. Sarah Palin (R-Alaska) should hope for an open-ended forum for her debate with Obama running mate Sen. Joe Biden, argued pollster Frank Luntz. The better for him to utter the inevitable golden Biden gaffe.
The key to the debate between Biden and Palin is to have it completely open. Becuase Joe Biden for the first 90 seconds is as good as it gets. He always makes the stupid comment at about two minutes and 30 seconds. [laughter]
That was among a few humorous observations on the 2008 presidential race that the veteran pollster delivered before a September 3 breakfast gathering of bloggers just a few blocks from the Xcel Center.

First, he has been the ONLY pollster to mention how the Bradley Effect makes this one "difficult" (read that impossible for him) to call. In other words, the polls are way, way off what the actual results will be.
With regard to the media letting up on her if she does really well tonight, forget it. (below is copied from a post of mine elsewhere)
There will be NO good words from any media tonight. Not even a peep about a nice hairdo…. nothing good. Regardless of her actual speech, coverage tonight and tomorrow will be as bad as it can get. Then, given time to parse her words more thoroughly and look at her record for things to distort, another wave of really bad coverage will begin. Keep your chin up and prepare for it.
I’m sure the McCain campaign is fully aware of this new onslaught and is prepared to deal with it. We have two months until the election and the McCain campaign has hardly taken a swing at “the One”. The lefty loons combined with the Gaffe Machine Duet coming in those two months will lay all of the necessary groundwork for the devastating counter attack.
The real fights will begin when the debates are held… it will be much more difficult for the media to hide or distort those results.
