Keith Olbermann is a National Hero
August 30, 2008 - 16:18 ET by allamericandudeKeith Olbermann is an American phenomenon like Barack Obama. Keith always looks out for the average guy. He is a bulwark against the
right wing lunatic fringe. Nobody guts the Republicans like he does and
that's why I love him so much. He is a breath of fresh air in the
usually corrupt U.S. media which has enabled this disastrous Bush Regime. He stands up for truth and justice and defends our civil
liberties. He is a treasure to American journalism and the only reason
why I still watch cable news. He outclasses Billo, Sean Hannibal, Rush Limpdick and all the other talking heads
on t.v. and talk radio several times over. There is no other that compare to America's hero Keith. The guy is simply phenomenal.

Good One! Too bad you cannot use this argument anymore!
August 29, 2008 - 20:40 ET by PopularTechThanks to idiot McCain you just destroyed the most compelling argument about Obama - Experience.
Mayors of large cities have more executive experience than Palin.
Partially correct. Palin is
August 29, 2008 - 20:48 ET by GregEPartially correct. Palin is not running for President, and though she COULD be president if anything happened to McCain....Obama is president from the day of his ticket winning, no question about it, if his ticket wins. Palin becoming president is a hypothetical. BUT, I understand exactly what you're saying, I just don't believe it's quite the equal that Obama's "lack of" is.
Because of the difference.....Obama as Pres candidate, Palin as VP candidate, the Obama campaign will have to walk on eggshells if they attempt to use experience as an issue, because of what I've said above, and that he has had that against him since day one. I don't know that he really would want to open that door unless they did it EXTRA cautiously, and I don't think in this day and age of the soundbite that it's possible to be cautious enough.
....but, with the media on his side, it may not be quite as touchy as it could, or should be and maybe they can allow him to get away with it amongst the American sheeple.
Not so, she has more

You could get any Mayor and say they have more executive experience than Obama.
hence its a rope a dope,
August 29, 2008 - 20:56 ET by Conservative Voicehence its a rope a dope, Obama can't be too critical of her experience, because it exposes how vacant he is.
And in either case this whole notion that the President or any office needs to come from someone with "experience" is bs. McCain has more experience than them all, yet I will much rather have Palin be the nominee, and would question her judgement if she picked McCain as a running mate.
You really didn't just say that did you? Hypocrites!!!

August 30, 2008 - 10:01 ET by GregENot sure what is hypocritical in what you've highlighted from CV. Could you explain?
And I'm being sincere, not sarcastic or confrontational. I want civil discussion on this, so please don't reply as if a "gotcha" is what I'm looking for. It's not. I simply don't see "hypocritical" in what you're pointing to.
I could have simply asked the one question, but sadly, with the tone of the discussion on this topic, I've had to type 5 times as much to hopefully ensure that my question is perceived properly. Good grief.
The President does not need to have experience
August 30, 2008 - 10:29 ET by PopularTechThe argument used against Obama ever since he started to run.
I know that arguement, as
August 30, 2008 - 11:55 ET by GregEI know that arguement, as does everyone, but you were referring to a distinct statement that CV made. If you know that CV has voiced the experience problem with Obama, then you have a point, but if you're calling him/her hypocrite over a statement that he/she may actually have always believed, then that's not hypocritical. You're on this forum more than I am so maybe you've seen CV saying things against experience and are now seeing "experience is BS." If that's the case, your comment makes sense, but if that's not the case, I don't understand why you'd use the term "hypocrite" to describe CV's statement. But again, you may or may not know something about CV's past arguements that I simply don't know.

Sarah Palin - This is what a Conservative looks like !
Regarding the age issue, I
August 30, 2008 - 12:07 ET by GregERegarding the age issue, I personally would truly love to see McCain, at convention, announce that he is only seeking a one-term presidency, and is not running in 2012. No upcoming election to look forward to, so a 4 year presidency, not a 2.5 year presidency and a 1.5 year campaign for the 2nd term and all the pandering that comes along with it.
My Argument has absolutely no merit - of course...

August 30, 2008 - 08:34 ET by lareeThis has been coming for a long time. The quote from Obama himself "I would not have someone like Imus working for me" But he has Ludacris on his I Pod and he wouldn't disown his mentor the Rite Rev Jeremiah Wright....yeah that's what they call nuance...Obama is full of it.
How much money did CBS radio and MSNBC lose firing Imus? caving into race baiters has a price. Recently CBS had to sell off 50 radio stations. The calculation of lost revenue for NBCU ??? they had to consolidate, which is fancy talk for layoffs- people lost their jobs. The rest of them had to move to 30 rock. Imus got an undisclosed settlement from CBS, and the loss of ratings for both CBS and NBC, cost them $$$ in advertizing dollars.
Somebodys chickens are coming home to roost. Oh Imus, he is on more radio stations now then before he was fired, and simulcast on RFD TV which just picked up carriage on Verizon in NYC.
